    Awesome! Thanks.

    Thanks Dude, it worked great.

    Would it be possible to exclude the dated Archives from this “(A-Z)” change? For example to keep the text change to the category archives but to remove it from the following dated archive sections below:

    April 2011 (3)

    February 2011 (11)

    January 2011 (13)

    How about a 3px x 27px image border? I tried the suggestions above by James Morrison but couldn’t get it to work. How would I go about inserting the border image to appear to the right of each menu item?

    Dude, are you available for custom work, or do you perhaps know someone who is? I’m willing to pay someone to help me configure my top menu bar (adding the menu borders + adding a network link in the upper right menu corner with a drop down menu).

    A colored border as opposed to an image will work. Is it possible to make the border 3px wide with a color sequence of #FFFFFF #e2e2e2 #FFFFFF?

    Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi,

    I wasn’t able to get your suggestion to work.

    The image border that I want to use is 3px x 27px. I’d like the image to appear to the right of every top menu link including the “Home” link.

    I’ve uploaded my header to include how I want the border to look, although in this case the borders are just a part of the header image itself. Instead I’d like them to be coded to appear to the right of each top menu item that way I don’t have to redesign the header image each time that I make changes to the menu.

    Awesome, that did the trick! Thanks.

    I have one other question pertaining to the top navigation menu. How would I add a 3px width gif border image to appear to the right of every menu link including the “Home” link?

    Thanks Dude!

    Should anyone else be interested in fixing this AVH Extended Categories post count issue, simply insert the following code into functions.php.

    add_filter('wp_list_categories', 'avh_cat_count_inline');
    function avh_cat_count_inline($links) {
    $links = str_replace('<div class="avhec-widget-count"> (', '<div class="avhec-widget-count"> (', $links);
    $links = str_replace(')', ')', $links);
    return $links;
    }

    Do you think that this is a fixable problem? What would your advice be on finding a solution? I’m fairly new to the realm of WordPress, so it’s difficult for me to make an accurate assessment as to whether or not I should continue to try and find a fix.

    Tried out your suggestion, it does brings the post count in line, however it distorts the AVH widget bottom borders.

    The code change above is already running on my site, and unfortunately doesn’t seem to affect the post count. I made it in order to change the categories from a double to a single line. Perhaps that original default “double” category line setup is somehow connected with this post count problem. I’ve had several people look at the problem, and thus far no can seem to pinpoint how to fix it.

    Thanks for the info. I’m not quite sure how to put your suggestion into code. I gave it a try but I seem to be doing something wrong.

    When I first installed the Habitat theme, none of the default category and archive widgets would display the “post count” inline, they instead displayed the post count on the line below (this is why I inserted the two filter functions to correct the issue). Obviously now the AVH categories plugin widget is repeating this same problem. Is it possible that the Habitat theme might have a code error somewhere that keeps causing this issue across all post counts? Or is Habitat coded in such a way that is not compatible with the post count feature?

    I managed to code my way towards about a 50% fix for this problem.

    [1] I need a filter function for the AVH Extended Categories widget to force the “post count” inline. Below is an example of a current filter function that I am using on the theme for the non-AVH widgets. Any idea how to convert this filter function to work for AVH extended categories widget?

    add_filter(‘wp_list_categories’, ‘cat_count_inline’);

    function cat_count_inline($links) {

    $links = str_replace(‘ (‘, ‘ (‘, $links);

    $links = str_replace(‘)’, ‘)’, $links);

    return $links;

    }

    [2] The second issue is that I need help to extend the bottom category lines. They seem to only extend the length of the text. Any help would be much appreciated.

    You can see the site here (the two top side bar categories are the ones I’m working on):

    Once I fix this problem, I will come back and post how I did it so that others can use the info if they plan to integrate the AVH Extended Categories plugin into Habitat.

    The standard category plugin doesn’t have an exclude feature which I need in order to create separate category groups. I can group them manually using the links widget, however then I lose the category count feature.

    Any ideas on how I can solve this?

    I’ve tried several other categories widget plugins and they all seem to suffer from the same issue. Do you know of any that would be compatible with the Habitat theme?

    in reply to: Widget Alignment Problem #39918

    I made a change that fixed the issue. I’ve got pixel perfect font alignment now across all four browsers.

    In this area of style.css:

    h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, legend, .sliderheading {

    I changed line-height:1.4em; to line-height:1.5em;

    My coding skills are really weak. Does this seem like a logical solution, or did I possibly change something that I shouldn’t have? I don’t see any problems with the site, so hopefully all is well.

    I appreciate all your help and suggestions on the issue. Many thanks.

    in reply to: Widget Alignment Problem #39916

    I gave this a try, but cannot seem to get it to work.

    I checked the site in Google Chrome, and like Opera the widgets line up perfectly. So it’s only in FireFox and IE. I temporarily reverted the site over to other themes to see if the same issue arises, but couldn’t seem to replicate the problem.

    Is there a way to add a filter function so that I can correct the issue in IE and FireFox without affecting Opera and Chrome?

    I’m stumped as to what could be causing this issue, and how to correct it. Any help would be much appreciated.

    in reply to: Widget Alignment Problem #39914

    Thanks for the screenshots. I took a look at them and the problem does appear to be occurring in both of your browsers as well. If you measure it out using Photoshop you’ll see that the alignment is off for the middle widget (the misalignment seems to occur with every other widget, though not always and not exclusively). I generally wouldn’t make a fuss about a 1px misalignment issue, but it is very noticeable with my screen setting (1280×1024 resolution).

    I disabled all of my plugins and logged out, yet the problem persists.I also turned off the “post count” feature for the archive and categories widget, but it also did not correct the issue.

    in reply to: Widget Alignment Problem #39912

    I gave it a try and it doesn’t seem to be working. The padding did change obviously, however the alignment is still off by 1px on random widgets.

    Thank you so much for the info! I made the quick and easy change over.

    in reply to: Brief Font Revert During Browser Refresh #39757

    Thank you for the reply.

    Is it possible to replace the League Gothic font with a more standardized style (e.g. Veranda, Tahoma, etc.)? If I were to do that (assuming it’s possible), would that then solve the brief font revert issue that I’m experiencing.
