Ok, got it now — thanks for investigating, very much appreciate your help, Dude!!
ok- sorry again, I must not have been clear to begin with — on the link given, there are two posts with a featured image AND each has a Preview Picture Overwrite set as well — the problem is the Preview Picture is NOT being displayed, only the featured image. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
ok, sorry this isn’t sinking in and I appreciate your patience here — I thought that’s what I’m trying to do and it’s not working? The link has 3 posts, all three have a featured image set. They all also had a Post Thumb set, but only the featured image is shown in the preview. (As a test, I removed the featured image from the bottom post, so that post now only has the post thumb — the result is no image shows at all in for a post preview.)
hmm… what is the Post Thumbnail section on the post dashboard for then? If I insert an image in the Post Thumbnail field but NOT in the other Featured Image section (now blank, image removed), then nothing shows for the post preview (at url provided above, post 3)
Would removing this code also cause me to lose the post preview thumbnails? I have a featured image and a post thumbnail (and sometimes a post content image) set for this post category http://tinyurl.com/4xsw869 and only the featured image is showing as the post prev. Not sure if some other code mod for the home page has caused these preview thumbs not to work… or I’m just missing something silly… any thoughts?
Yes Thanks Dude, that definitely helps… – any other suggestions? What does it look like to you?September 22, 2011 at 6:37 pm in reply to: How to center slider images after size change and shadow adjustment #52239September 22, 2011 at 6:38 am in reply to: How to center slider images after size change and shadow adjustment #52237
Perfect, thank you!
Regarding the overlay, yes I managed to alter the size although I’m not sure my code mod is the proper way. I’d like to change the font size+ weight but it doesn’t seem to be in the same area of code where I changed the overlay size. Could you guide me to where I would alter the overlay font? My example is a title without a description. What if I used just a line of description — if so, would that be easier to modify the font format instead? Just looking for whatever is easiest/best.practice. (Ex. change font size slightly larger or smaller depending on quantity of text and also make it Bold)
ThanksSeptember 20, 2011 at 8:45 am in reply to: How to center slider images after size change and shadow adjustment #52235
Also, how to change the size of the slider overlay height/width — I have made some modification as you can see in the link above, but I would like the overlay to be a short band across the entire bottom width which contains a single line of text, either the title or the description but not both. I was able to do this in CleanCut but not having luck figuring it out for Avisio. Thanks
yes, all except for the part where I needed to Activate it from the proper window — sorry, my bad, too many browsers open — it is loading now, thank you!January 20, 2011 at 12:53 am in reply to: CleanCut – Blog Overview Page Template or Custom layout? #39109
I understand what you are saying (in ur email) and greatly appreciate your persistence and thorough response, thank you! Based on your email, for any others following this thread, getting the CleanCut blog layout to mimic the Avisio blog would require customization, customization that was built in to the Avisio theme and not easily ported over to CleanCut. The CleanCut Blog Overview template layout is no different from the default.
Thank you again, Dude, for your follow through.January 18, 2011 at 7:05 pm in reply to: CleanCut – Blog Overview Page Template or Custom layout? #39107
Thanks Dude – my site is using CleanCut but I also have Avisios — I am fine with the look being similar (not exact) if you can assist me in applying the archive look from Avisos to CleanCut, that’s fine too — one reason I bought both as each has good features. Not for sure what you mean by “normal” archive layout but if you can assist in applying that look, that would be perfect. Also, what is the difference between the CleanCut blog page ‘Default template’ vs the ‘Blog Overview’ template, I’m not seeing a difference and I was thinking it might apply a dfferent look – Thanks! (ps. also replied to your email, thank you)January 18, 2011 at 5:33 am in reply to: CleanCut – Blog Overview Page Template or Custom layout? #39104
thank you, yes, emailed you the info several hours ago – much appreciate the persistenceJanuary 16, 2011 at 6:14 pm in reply to: CleanCut – Blog Overview Page Template or Custom layout? #39102
Hi, thanks – I replaced the template_blog.php file with the new one I downloaded from your link, but I still see no change in appearance on my blog page http://www.findmefamous.com/blog – I’m sorry, I don’t know what I’m missingJanuary 16, 2011 at 6:08 am in reply to: CleanCut – Blog Overview Page Template or Custom layout? #39100
Thanks but I’m really not following what it is you are trying to tell me – yes, I am in agreement with your last reply, my blog appears to be the standard default blog layout, the link was to my blog, it looks like the CleanCut blog, there are only 4 active posts, they are uncategorized. I’ve not yet done anything special with categories, I’m not linking to categories in menus at this time….so back to my original questions:
1) how can I make my blog page look like this link (in layout/appearance) http://www.pmags.com/topics/ramblings
2) what is the purpose of the Blog Overview template, how do you apply it and what does it look likeJanuary 14, 2011 at 7:08 am in reply to: CleanCut – Blog Overview Page Template or Custom layout? #39098
Yes, that was already set too – the link I provided should have taken you right to my ‘blog’ postings page, which is named Blog, http://findmefamous.com/blog/, and yes this is the page assigned or selected under CleanCut Options > Blog Options > Blog Page. I can see the blog posts on the correct page, they do show on this page obviously, blog is assigned to the page named “Blog” and it does show so I don’t believe that part is a problem. Are you noticing something else? My question is the in the formatting/layout alternative and purpose of the Overview template and what that is suppose to look like and how to implement a layout like http://www.pmags.com/topics/ramblings. Is there some other setting I’m missing? BTW I did NOT set a Static or Post page under Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays…..
Perhaps I am still missing something simple, but I’m not sure how to attach a screenshot here to show you my dashboard selections to show you…if you want to me to do that, let me know howJanuary 12, 2011 at 10:32 pm in reply to: CleanCut – Blog Overview Page Template or Custom layout? #39096
Sure, but I’m not sure if the problem is with me or the problem is I should be seeing something different if I select the “Overview” template bec I’m not sure what that is suppose to look like — my link is: http://findmefamous.com/blog/
Just to be clear, in the Dashboard, I went to Pages, selected the page called ‘ Blog’, and selected the Overview template and saved/updated. (The HTML editor is blank.)
Thank you, I was able to change the width,…
1) is there a way to adjust the height (ex. to automatically have it the same height as the image ro slideshow box
2) is there a way to allow the slider Title to appear even if there is no description? (or the description without the title?) I’d like to be able to have a single short line of text entered instead of the default Title+Description only.
