I tried all of that. First, I disabled W3 Total Cache and reloaded the page. Then I disabled all my plugins and uploaded a .jpg version of the image. Still came out the same. I left the .jpg version up even though the thumbnail position is wrong to demonstrate the point.
Took a couple times and a hard reload, but got it. Thank you for your help!!! This thread can be marked as resolved.
Thanks – that code worked for the sorting.
The ‘rogue’ image is at the bottom of my portfolio (listed above). I regenerated the thumbnails, but as it is a CSS issue, this did not have an affect.
Thank you for taking the time to sort this out.
Nevermind – the update included the CSS for the hover. Still have a rogue thumbnail that is in color instead of b&w.
With the update, my portfolio is no longer sortable. Looks like all the correct settings are in place. What happened?
Thanks – I tried adding it to my child theme CSS file to no avail.
Also, what to do about the rogue thumbnail that insists on being in color before hover?
Tried that. Did nothing. I changed it back because the Kriesi settings in the Choices Options don’t work for the blog (it doesn’t display the blog on the page I choose, and when I create a template for said page including the blog, the blog sidebar doesn’t show).
I currently use All In One SEO. I enabled changing page titles / descriptions, and it works for inner pages alright. The home page doesn’t seem to generate, however.
On the previous build of Choices, I was able to correct this issue on the whole by simply editing the header.php using the recommended code in Codex. I understand something must have changed with the update. If there are no further suggestions, I’ll deal with AIO SEO’s settings.
I actually haven’t done much to the file other than copy and paste…
Alright, so that all worked when in the JetPack Edit CSS space. When I entered these into the custom style.css, however, it does nothing. Am I stuck between a rock and a hard place?
As you will see when looking at the site, that corrected the formatting issue. However, I don’t want pagination on the home page, and the woocommerce pagination is redundant on the shop page. I would very much like to make them disappear entirely.
Thank you for your continued help.
Ah – alright. This gives me a few things to play around with. Thanks for your advice. I’ll mark this as resolved.
Hey – thanks for the quick response. The CSS worked great for the hover effect – thanks for that.
The thumbnail regeneration worked as well, but now the thumbnails are ridiculously blurry and not cropped at all. Is there no way to have the cropped affect without the snapshot coming from the center (aside from manually doing so)?
Thanks again for your help. We’re getting there!
That worked, but Choices overrides the portfolio and I don’t see anything on the page. I’m going to try Awesome Portfolio and see if that helps. Bummer – ’cause Nimble looked sweet.
Perfect – that removed the thumbnail. Thank you for your help – I’ll post if I find a solution toward an alternative lightbox gallery.
I understand. As you’ll see in this picture ( http://imgur.com/dplsInV ), the lightbox displays a thumbnail. I’m not sure of the purpose of it without a lightbox slideshow. I’ll figure something else out regarding this point, but is there a way to hide the thumbnail to avoid confusion? I can’t isolate it as it disappears when not hovered upon.
Thank you for all your help…
For some reason all I get is a slider. I would like the user to be able to see the (large) thumbnails, then, when clicked, enter into the lightbox and be able to slide between photos w/o leaving. I could have sworn there was a way to do so…
Thanks – both work to get the text there, but both also present issues. The former, when padding is added, pushes everything around it in all directions rather than moving it. The latter (into the framework files) moves around the logo in a way that I can’t get formatted well. Any other ideas? If not, I’ll just stick with it as it is for now.
