Yes, I’ve been playing with the columns and I think I’ll be able to make it work. Thanks so much!October 3, 2011 at 4:13 pm in reply to: Change the order of the full size and half size entries #52800
Actually, changing the order has become much less important and the goal now is to just be able to put what we want to put in the sidebar without it pushing the other elements down.
The problem is that the clients want pages to be in the area under the slideshow instead of posts, and there seems to be no way to do that without using columns.
They want the slideshow and they want the sidebar, but they also want features pages to show under the slideshow – one set of 2-columns and then one column and one column.
I suppose a news-y theme wasn’t the best way to go but the clients really loved the layout of the demo site and wanted to go with it.
I like the idea of moving some things to the footer, but I’m not sure the clients will. They really want all the info that’s there now to be highly visible.
Thanks for the input! Much appreciated!October 3, 2011 at 1:07 pm in reply to: Change the order of the full size and half size entries #52798
Ok, so it turns out I’m definitely going to need Shoutbox modified so that the sidebar does not push the other elements down the page. This is beyond my abilities, and I see Kriesi is not available for freelance work. If I were to find a freelancer to do this for me, how do I explain what exactly it is I’m needing? Also, if anyone knows anyone who can take on this project, please let me know. I hope this is an appropriate post. If not, please feel free to remove it. I think going this route will be cheaper for the client than starting over with an entirely new theme. Shoutbox has everything we need except for this one issue.
Also, if this is just a minor code modification that I can insert myself, I’m fine with doing that. I just can’t make major changes to the PHP as my knowledge is limited.

Oh my, so there’s no way to fix the white space? Bummer. I’m going to have to get creative…September 29, 2011 at 3:31 pm in reply to: Change the order of the full size and half size entries #52794
Hi! I’m just wondering if there is an answer to my question. Can the amount of whitespace be decreased on the home page? Please view the link about to see what I’m talking about. Thank you!September 27, 2011 at 4:44 pm in reply to: Change the order of the full size and half size entries #52793
Ok, as a revision to my previous question, is it possible to simply shorten the amount of whitespace that occurs when I add a second element? The sidebar pushes the other elements down and leaves a gap. If I’m not explaining myself clearly, please let me know.
Ok, this worked great for the headings, thank you!. Is it possible to apply a second font to the navigation? Thanks so much for your help!
