I have got the slider working and it was my fault by not understanding the settings. I had “Shop Columns” set to 5 and “Products per page” set to 5. Once I changed “Products per page” to a number greater than 5 the slider started. I have now set “Products per page” to all.
My issue is the slider function only. Products are correctly appearing but setting “Shop Slider Row” to “Yes” has no effect, the products remain static and no arrows appear at the side, as previously, to manually slide the section.
Same issue here. Using woocommerce (1.5.3) and wordpress (3.3.1). Had loaded demo data and product slider working. Loaded my own products and slider still working. Added another product slider and set one for ladies shoes and the other to mens and now I have two rows with correct products but no scrolling. I have set the time to 5 seconds but no slide and no direction arrows. Site is on a localhost.
Site no.3 just finished and is now up and running. Hope this background is less irritating Dude :-)
I waited a while before taking the plunge for the same reason. If you have not already done so I would recommend that you download the latest version of Avisio from theme forest and study the provided document which lists the files changed. There are not that many to replace. My big concern was style.css but the only change in that file was the version number which you can just correct by editing in your current file. The others files, in my case, did not effect the changes I had made so all I had to do was replace those. This is my site http://www.ourgolftour.co.uk which you can see has had quite a lot of tweaks.
Do download the new version and take a look at what has to be updated there is not that much to change. Obviously you can check this all out before committing to an updating to 3.1
It all depend on the changes you have made and only you can decide.
James asked me to change the permalink settings to “Month and name” which is one of the common settings, save and then see if that worked, which it did. I then simply changed permalinks back to my preferred custom structure /%category%/%postname%/ and saved that setting and it worked.
Apparently the permalinks needed flushing which this procedure forced.
I must add that I had tried previously changing back to the default and then back to the custom structure to try to flush the permalinks without success so it may be worth trying more than one of the common settings if it does not work first time.
Hope this helps.
Pleased to hear you are feeling better.
I have set up a new password and emailed it to you.
Changing the permalink structure to month and name based appears to work fine.
I have now changed it back to /%category%/%postname%/ and it is still working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Strange but hey if it is fixed.
I will leave your user account in place so you can take a look James.
I have just done a clean install of wordpress 3.0.4 on my PC using a localhost (wamp) and loaded the Avisio theme with dummy data and changed Permalinks to /%category%/%postname%/ No plugins and I get the same 404 error described above on clicking read more on a Portfollio item yet clicking read more on a blog item works fine.
I am not sure if James has had a chance to look yet but thought it worth reporting this.
I have also found that if I click preview on a slider page it also give the 404 error which I guess is the same issue. Not sure if this is any help with solving the problem.
No, only the default ( http://www.ourgolftour.co.uk/?p=123 ).
Email sent with Account Details. If you do not get it let me know.
Thanks again for looking at it Dude.
Yes, it would be much appreciated if James can take a look.
I have spent the evening trying many things without any success. I am using /%category%/%postname%/ for permalinks and all works except articles in the portfolio pages. If I revert back to the default ?p=123 then the the items on the portfolio page open fine. I want to use /%category%/%postname%/ but the 404 error is driving me nuts!
Thanks for taking a look Dude.
I looked at the .htaccess file but it had the suggested code already.
I have change permalinks back to the default and it all works fine.
Can not figure out why the portfolio items cause the 404 error if using /%category%/%postname%/ for permalinks. Has any one got any suggestions?
Account created, if you don’t get the email with login details let me know.
Thanks for the tip James. Nothing is set to 777 only 755 so I should be OK I hope.
Thanks Dude. A new bbPress true plugin is expected in the next couple of weeks so I will wait to see if that is sweet.
Thanks for that advice.
What about the font used in general posts and pages, as I just want to make it look slightly darker or is it a case of choosing a different font?
It looks like a permissions issue. I have changed all files and folders in wp-content and wp-includes to chmod 755 and all is working. Is this a safe thing to do?
Lots of other functions not running and font is not the one selected. Is it possible to reinstall the theme over the top to see if it fix’s things?
The site looks great on the localhost but looks like I have issues with the upload. This is my first wordpress site so a little unsure how to solve problems.
