    Nick -

Thank you! The first bit of code worked. So glad, since that was the easier way. I appreciate your help.

I waited to address this again because other issues were making my cart not work and I wanted to work on those issues first. All of that seems to be cleared up now. I have cleared browser history and tried re-doing the code you gave me in my custom.css and it still does not work. Please look at it again. I appreciate all your help so much.

Okay – I have kept messing around with this and seem to have it working now. The cart is working great! Gosh, it’s beautiful when it works! Thank you so much for staying with me on this issue. The site still shows me as having the older version of Abundance, so I could still use help on that. Onward and upward.

    Devin -

I think I downloaded Abundance 1.5 from Themeforest, but did not upload correctly. Are there simple instructions on how to do this? I found version.rtf and found which files were changed, but now I don’t know what to do with this information. I am using hostgator but have not used Filezilla before. I saw this program mentioned in another place on this forum as a way to upload files. I can follow directions when given but just don’t know where to start on this issue. Thank you.

I have disabled all plugins except woocommerce and I am still getting the same error message. I wonder if this issue also has anything to do with the Attracta problems I am having with the cart. (See other thread about items selected for cart not going into the cart.) I will wait and see if I can get an answer from HostGator about deleting Attracta from my website. Perhaps this will take care of this issue also.

I appreciate you staying with me on this one. I hope to know more tomorrow. (Monday)

    Dude -

Thank you for this. I wish I knew how to delete all Attracta mentions from my site, it’s almost like it’s a virus or something? I have contacted HostGator and they opened a ticket on this on Thursday. I guess I will give them until tomorrow and if I don’t hear anything back from them, contact them again. It seemed like a good service, and probably is, but maybe doesn’t want to play nicely with Woocommerce. Or maybe I did something wrong, just need it gone!

    Dude -

Thanks, I didn’t realize there was an update to Abundance. I now have updated, cleared my browser history, but I’m still getting the same error message. It might be something else, I seem to be having several issues the last couple of days. Please help (again).

in reply to: Mega Menu #93430

In trying to resolve another issue, I noticed something with the menu of my site. When I deactivated a plugin I use called Dynamic Headers by Nicasio Design, the menu disappears also. Even though the gif file I used for the header is above the menu when looking at the website. With this new knowledge, do you think there is a way to get this to work?

    Thanks.

    Nick -

Thank you for the idea of turning off the plugins and turning back on until I find out what is happening. It felt good to be taking action on my own behalf. Here are my observations:

    1. I have contacted HostGator to see if all of Attracta can be deleted from my website. There must be something somewhere that I am not finding. You are absolutely correct, Googling 3fb9.html certainly did bring up my website which was really weird. I wish it would be as easy to get my page to come up on search terms I WANT it to come up for. Hopefully whatever HostGator does will take care of that issue.

    2. In thumbnail view, when clicking “Add to Cart” it does add to the cart, but does not show up on the nav bar. When I click on the cart button in nav bar it then takes me to the cart and the items are there.

    3. In single product view, when clicking on “Add to Cart” it does add to cart because it takes you to the cart immediately and the products are in there. The total in the nav bar also changes.

    4. I have “Redirect to cart after adding product to cart (on single product pages) checked under Catalog options in Woocommerce. The action of the page changing to the cart page makes the total show up in the nav bar.

    5. I have deactivated every plugin and then reactivated each one and see no difference in the way the Cart total shows up on the nav bar.

Here is my idea. Is there a code I can add to make it redirect to the cart after the “Add to Cart” button is clicked in the thumbnail view? It seems as if the act of going to the cart page triggers the total in the nav bar to add up. I think this might be the answer, but you guys are the experts. What do you think?

Thanks, but that did not work. I probably need to be clearer also. The button is on http://pizzazzgifts.com/cart

Below the text “Your cart is currently empty.”

    Can we try again?

in reply to: Mega Menu #93428

Devin – I am still working on this. I have now taken out all mega menu check marks. I have tried the same page under other pages in my nav bar and it doesn’t work there either. I have now spent two days just trying to get a clickable link to the page of the line of jewelry I carry. Seems like a real waste of time when I should be moving on. The only way it works is if I make use it in the main nav bar. Problem is, I will have soon more products than will fit across that bar. You also mentioned here and on other threads to select the items’s “Use description to create a text box.” Where is that?

I also tried creating an image of the text I want to go there and that is not working either. Is it possible that this is connected to my problem in another thread of the add to cart capability not working? I have eliminated all mentions of “Attracta” as was suggested there and that is still not working either.

I am totally going around in circles here and am very frustrated. I know you guys have the answer or can figure it out. It is just beyond me.

    Peter -

Thank you. Attracta is an SEO tool provided by HostGator. I have moved that code to custom.css and eliminated all other mentions of Attracta that I could find. The cart is still doing the same thing.

Could you please take another look at it?

in reply to: Mega Menu #93426

I have it now where it is linkable, but it is not showing the title of the page in the dropdown. Therefore a customer would not know what they were clicking on. Would this have something to do with a piece of code I added earlier to my custom.css that prevents the page title from showing on the page? Is there someway to amend the code so that it will show up in navigation?

Okay, I spoke too soon. Here is another issue I am having. Relevanssi says the following in their manual:

“Exclude these categories and tags from search

Here you can permanently exclude categories and tags from search by listing their numeric IDs. The ‘cats’ input field also takes negative values for exclusion.”

In order to exclude some of my categories they need to have a numeric ID. But Woocommerce does not assign numeric IDs to the categories. Any ideas of a work around for this issue?

    Thanks!

Actually, now it seems to be working. I don’t know what I did differently, but I am just glad that it is working. Thanks!

I am having so much trouble with this. Relevanssi says it will work with default wordpress search also. Maybe I just need to go back to the default wordpress search widget and then try to use Relevanssi with it? Trouble is, I can’t find the default wordpress search widget. Someone please point me in some direction of help on that one. I am ready for my shopping cart to go live and really don’t want to do it with current state of seach on my website. Thanks!

    Ismael -

Thank you for the suggestion of Search Everything. It really is a cool plugin and would be exactly what I need, except it is only said to work with the standard wordpress seach box. Do you think there is anything similar to this that would work with Woocommerce product search? I have been searching once I realized the other one would not work, but cannot find anything. Very frustrating. Any ideas?

I am using a plugin by 61 Extensions called WooCommerce Pinterest Pin-it Button. It gives a field in the Edit Products Page of each item and you check a box if you want that item to have a Pin It Button. Very easily installed, but then I don’t know how to set up the location of the button.

in reply to: Product titles and tags #91769

    Ismael -

Thanks for the code to align the product title and price. It worked great!

No, the Pin It Button is still an issue (see previous post) I would like the Pin It Button to be next to the large image of each product, either just above or just below the image. Right now it shows up under the row of Related Products. I think if it were closer, I would have a better chance of getting people to use it. Please advise.

Thanks! As usual you guys rock with your support!

Well, it’s almost there. If you go to the same link as above http://pizzazzgifts.com/shop/048-jewel-pop-blue-sparkle/ you can see the changes.

    1. The only change I need to make now is how do I line up the price of $39 with the name of the item? As you can see it is kind of close and does not line up with the text name of item.

    5. The Pinterest Plugin I am using is from WooCommerce and was made to go on the product pages. I really don’t want that particular “Pin It” button to line up with other social icons. It is meant to be with the product image so people can click on it and “Pin It” to their Pinterest page to help me with traffic. Any idea on another Pin It button Plugin that will work? I have downloaded and installed several. Some don’t show up at all and many of them will add the Pin It button to the image, but it is only visible when you hover over the image. I would like the Pin It button to be very visible at all times to ‘suggest’ to visitors to Pin It. I used the WooCommerce one to begin with because I thought since it was being used in the commerce section of the website it probably needed to be compatible with WooCommerce. Any thoughts on that issue?

Thanks again for all your help!

Ismael – Thanks so much for the great directions, and the code. Worked like a charm!

in reply to: Custom pages with no header, footer, sidebar, etc. #86654

Ismael – Thank you. I guess the real issue is getting a page to work that is plain text. I don’t know how to do a page for my website that doesn’t have the header, footer and sidebars. Any advice in that regard?

Thank you! I emailed HostGator to ask for directions on how to accomplish this with their service, and they did the switching over for me! Very grateful for all the wonderful help I have received from you guys and HostGator.

    My journey continues . . .
