Oh gee, that’s odd. I tried on two computers the Fashion-3 page, and both look bad (side by side) on all three browsers? The “curated fashion for lovers” is on the left, the quote on the right? I just tried a laptop…same thing? Why should this be?|
the Fashion page (standard http://www.whyconcept.co/fashion/) doesn’t have the <br> and doesn’t split the container?Hi…no?
In fact, i see exactly what i sent you in the images above, still. I have cleared all cache, and i see it both on IE, Firefox, and Chrome.
Do you see the link?I’m not sure why you can’t possibly see this? It’s literally as the images I sent. It’s side-by-side container when I add line breaks.
And how can it be fixed, as http://www.whyconcept.co/fashion/ has no line break for the person/quoter?
:(Hi Sure,
Here are the links. You can also see it on these pages:http://www.whyconcept.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/With-BR.jpg
http://www.whyconcept.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/No-Line-Breaks.jpgAlso,
When add the <br>, in Chrome when you go full-width the screen, the top headline (CURATED FASHION FOR LOVERS) goes side-by-side rather than multi-line (even though multi-line is checked).. but it doesn’t do that on IE or Firefox :(Hi Rikard;
Oddly I’d tried that before, and it didn’t work, now seems to. However, it also now seems to “shrink” the container width. Check out these two examples:
The container width for the first is “100%”, or longer than the headline (CURATED FASHION FOR LOVERS), you can see that in the 3rd quote easily: on the first page
“I loathe narcissism, but I approve of vanity.” Diana Vreeland
where the fashion-2 page the quote is as if it’s in a shorter container?Hi…that didn’t work. Is there a way to force a line break? Thanks!
That worked a charm, thanks so much!
Ah! Thanks Elliott – that did make a change :)
One more question if you don’t mind – right above that text block is a grid-row, and i’ve set it to have “no borders”, yet it always displays a bottom 1px grey line border. I’ve noticed that throughout my pages, and have searched the forums, but don’t see a) why it shows up when i choose no borders, and b) how to get rid of it!
Thanks again,
SteveHmm, I tried – i pasted it into the codeblock element already on the page, flushed browser cache and tried a new browser as well, and no change?
Ah, that works a charm, thanks so much! Case closed :)
Actually that previous code did work, but i maybe my browser is cached or something…
It worked using another browser. I’ll try the new code so it is site-wide! Also, the new code worked!
Thanks for the very quick reply.Hmm, the following code:
.page-id-639 #after_full_slider_1 .content {
padding-bottom: 0;
padding-top: 0;
}
Didn’t seem to work for reducing the white space between the layer slider and the heading?Oh, your CSS for the spacing between the grid-row and the text box worked, thanks! I notice it’s specific to that page only (page ID), so if i want to do it for other pages do i have to replicate the CSS for each page?
Also, would be keen to see the spacing reduced between the layer slider and the heading throughout the site (the last add-on i had above) – thanks for the quick reply.
Actually, along t hose same lines, there is a lot of white space between the full screen layer slider (mammoth image) and the Special Header (“ENTERPRISE ANALYTICS DATABASE
CLOUD BASED OR ON-PREMISES”)
That i would also like to reduce, for example to 1/2 the current amount of white space, but i don’t see how? Where are the settings for this, or is there some CSS to change?Thanks!!
Oh, that worked! Great, thanks again!
If anyone else is interested, the code is below (easy to change the color, just swap the rgb (x,y.z)). Also make sure you get the right ID for your menu item (inspect the item).
Here is the CSS:
——————#menu-item-2756.avia-menu-fx { display: none; }
.header_color .main_menu ul:first-child > li#menu-item-2756 > a {
padding: 5px 10px;
background-color: rgb(9, 70, 17)!important;
color: white!important;
height: 30px!important;
line-height: 20px!important;
margin-top: 28px;
border-radius: 10px;
border-width: 0px;
}.header-scrolled li#menu-item-2756 a {
margin-top: 7px!important;
}.header_color .main_menu ul:first-child >li#menu-item-2756 > ul { border-top: none; }
li#menu-item-2756 .avia-menu-fx { display: none; }
Wow, thanks! Looks great!! Juuust one little thing..
Now when I scroll, the “button” dips down below the rest of the menu items. I had this issue before, and the following code helped it:.header-scrolled li#menu-item-2756 a {
margin-top: 7px;
}but now that doesn’t seem to work?
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Cheers,
SteveThis reply has been marked as private.Errr, wow. So i tried to mess around with it – i think “compatibility view” was either on or off…that caused the issue!
Thanks for the quick reply :)
@Nimrodmada – that worked! Cool :)
yes, we’re all dumb for upgrading before we should have, but we’re more fun that way? :D
ups… too late ;(
the whole layer slider doesn’t work…
Ok, i solved it. It’s tricky though. For others searching on this topic, I tried:
changing all permissions on the folder (and files) to 755 or 777,
clearing cloudflare cache,
clearing all browser cache (and numerous browsers)
disabling plugins,
I THOUGHT by clearing the cache on the plugins that would be enough, but no.. had to actually disable them. Weird.
Hi,
I have the exact same problem. I go into my “styling”, change something, DO press save changes, DO clear my cache (over and over, with different browsers), and..nothing…
