Thank you, I am marking this post as resolved.

    Hi Ismael,

The first part was straightforward, but for the .php code changes, this line appears within two ‘if’ statements. One of them seemed to work, but do I need to change it for both?

    Thanks,

    Salim

    Thanks Nick,

You’re right. When I deleted & recreated my first blog post, it works fine now.

    Best regards,

    Hi Nick,

I changed the permalink setting to “Post name”, pages such as Executive Coaching changed from http://eqhow.com/?page_id=150 to http://eqhow.com/executive-coaching/ However, when I click on the Recent Post links from the right menu or search site, I get an error 404? And how is it different from the custom structure which has %postname%.

    Thanks,

    Salim

    Thanks again Nick,

On that page, here is what I had:

    Home: Home

    Emotional Intelligence assessments

    Executive Coaching

    Home

    Leadership Coaching

My “home” did not have the word custom as the type of menu button, & I also noticed on my site that the Home link showed as http://eqhow.com/?page_id=231

Kindly confirm if the following is correct: I deleted the named “Home” menu & replaced it with the “Home: Home” menu. Like your image, it now shows as type “custom”, and it also shows up correctly in the browser as eqhow.com

    Cheers,

    Salim

    Hi Nick,

Thanks for your SEO tip: I will plan to use categories soon. The homepage does appear to be correctly set in the Menu and also shows up in my browser as my-domain.com, though I don’t know where to check the Menu button type as Custom – I glanced at my Menu settings.

    Thanks,

    Salim

    Hello,

Further to my response above, I believe that I have solved the problem. I could perhaps have changed this topic to:

Slideshow does not display on “Frontpage” or Homepage.

When I deleted the blog element, the slideshow still didn’t show so that I was left with just my menu.

So, my question became why does my slider appear on any page with a slideshow element EXCEPT the Frontpage or Homepage?

The solution was to change the Slideshow Size option to “Adjustable Slider” instead of full width. It now shows with the blog at http://eqhow.com/ Kindly let me know if you have any comments on my Propulsion option settings from my previous response.

    Best regards,

    Salim

    Hi Nick,

I’ve watched your video twice, but I can’t see anything that might be missing. Furthermore, when I click “View Page” from the page editor, it works & I can see my slideshow with blog; however, as soon as I click on “Home” only the blog displays.

Note that my posts are uncategorized, and although I have this blog ‘section’ on my frontpage, I do not have a separate blog page – I left that Propulsion option blank (though I tried that too).

It’s as though something is overriding it. I even tried renaming the page to “Home”.

    Salim

    Thanks, Dude -

You gave me the idea that the “publishing date” logic might already be in the code. Sure enough, I deleted & republished the last item & the items now appear in the correct sequence. However, your plugin sounds much more convenient.

Hello, I have one more question:

I noticed that any other page that has a portfolio section in its dynamic template seems to pull in the same portfolio??? This is although there is no category selected in the portfolio section of that template – I even saw this occur with the frontpage template when it is used for other pages. The portfolio option clearly identifies the intended page, and I have only one entry as I haven’t hit the + sign.

    Hi Devin,

Thanks to your support, you can now see the 3 portfolio items on my new link http://eqhow.com/?page_id=56. What option do I use to re-sequence them so that the first one appears last?

    Regards,

    Salim

    Thanks Devin,

By #3, my concern was that under Portfolio Options, it only lets you select one page: “Which page should display the portfolio?” How do you then display on multiple pages?

    Kind regards,

    Salim

    Hi Devin,

Just by adding the image through slideshow, it displayed immediately! For my new link http://eqhow.com/?page_id=56, here are my follow-up questions:

    1. When you hover over the item, the link shows eqhow.com/?portfolio=eq-360-report. Why is this different from your demo site where the link shows …propulsion/portfolio-item/… If it helps you, my page slug is also “portfolio-item”.

    2. When you click on the item link, the picture is too large. I had added the eq-360-report image as a thumbnail.

    3. Are we allowed to display portfolios on different pages? If so, then under portfolio options, what page should display the portfolio? If not, then what would you suggest instead?

    Thanks,

    Salim

For clarification, I believe that my images were already added correctly through the Add Media button.

To help resolve this topic, I have provided my portfolio link above.

    Hi Devin,

I had added the image through the ‘Add Media’ button, above the Visual Editor. Is this what you meant? I have various images stored there in a media library.

    Regards,

    Salim

    Hi Ismael,

Thank you for your support – I have republished the page “Portfolio”, so that you can see the problem http://eqhow.com/?page_id=84. What you probably saw is my new idea to try columns on the “Emotional Intelligence assessments” page; they prototype what I was trying to achieve, though I prefer the portfolio approach of clicking on the image for more details.

    Kind regards,

    Salim
