  • Sorry to jump in here, but does this fix apply to product images as well? Also, what will happen to preexisting images if I make the change?

    Haha oh man, thanks so much for your detailed follow-up. I actually ended up doing the Description Link solution in the meantime. I wonder why the wordpress gang hasn’t solved this, seems like it’s a really useful function to be able to link to whatever you want.

    Hey Devin,

    Thanks for your response. I understand Kriesi may not have an immediate solution, but it’d be nice to get some sort of reply or some thoughts regarding the issue to know he’s taken a look at least.

    Thanks,

    in reply to: [Flashlight] Custom Links for Gallery Items #86564

    No problem Nick, thanks for the help.

    I changed the link URLs when editing the portfolio pages >> Gallery Options >> Upload >> expand details about each image, Link URL. When you save, it reverts back to whatever it was beforehand. Not sure if this is the right approach, I thought if I changed this URL, the image would link to something else.

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85546

    I’ve done it!!!

    Soooo:

    <body id="top" class="home blog logged-in admin-bar Chrome Chrome21 theme-flashlightchild customize-support">

    This div houses the tooltips, and in my child theme it was 1263px X 136px. No idea why, I don’t have any custom CSS set to modify this, don’t think I have any plugins that modify this (since the subdomain showed it wasn’t a plugin issue), somehow just came like this. The subdomain showed that this div is supposed to be 1263px X 0px, so I just made this change and the tooltips appeared magically. Maybe something happens differently when child themes are activated?

    Sorry for putting all of you guys through this ordeal, appreciate all the time and feedback, glad this got figured out, even though I have no idea what caused this to begin with o.O

    Now if Kriesi can take a look at those other aging posts :D

    Thanks,

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85545

    Hi Nick,

    I’ve set up a fresh subdomain as you suggested. The tooltips work. I then copied over every plugin I had, and activated each one, one at a time, and tested the tooltip. The tooltips work after activating all the plugins. What’s wrong with my main install? Everything should be the same, I’ve imported the content and the settings, activated the same plugins, doesn’t make sense.

    So what can I do at this point? Another migration? o.O I actually have a separate post about the slow manual migration I’m already making regarding the images (that post is 6 days old, and still waiting for Kriesi to answer, unfortunately. I have a feeling Kriesi will say no changes or improvements will be made since that might jeopardize existing users, etc etc). Would reallllllly suck to have to re-migrate all over again from the beginning.

    Hey Nick,

    Sorry for all the trouble, I don’t know why this is happening. I made those changes, and the messing with the offset will allow the tooltips to show up, but another issue is that for some reason the tooltip comes in from below, while the demo comes in from above. So as the tooltip comes into screen from below, it runs into the mouse cursor and either cancels the tooltip or causes stuttering. So weird this is happening

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85541

    Hi Nick,

    Haha thats the problem, isn’t it? Yes the tooltips are definitely turned on in the main settings. If you go to the homepage, and click on “hide sidebar”, the best way I’ve found to see this issue is to put your mouse cursor at the top border of the thumbnails. You’ll see the tooltip quickly slide down and fade as it goes down out of frame. If you put your cursor lower on the thumbnail, it’ll run into the tooltip on it’s way down, and it’ll quickly reset or something. Another way you can also tell this happened is the pointer immediately turns back into your normal mouse cursor. It also depends on the browser, for IE, I don’t see the animation at all.

    Best,

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85539

    Hey Devin,

    Thanks for getting involved. Yes I’m including Jetpack in there. I’ve disable all of my plugins, including WooCommerce, Dvin wishlist, and W3 Total Cache (which turned out to be a pain to reactivate), and every single other plugin I have. I tried viewing the tooltips with nothing turned on and it still displayed this way.

    As for the child theme, that is actually kind of a new change. At the time I did all of this testing, I was using the main theme.

    Hope this info helps you guys diagnose the problem,

    Best,

    Mike

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85537

    Hi Nick,

    Thanks for looking into this. I’ve turned the tooltips back on.

    As for the browser, I’ve look at the site with:

    – IE 9: Tooltips don’t show up at all, no animations, nothing.

    – Firefox 12: Slides down and out of sight, like described above.

    – Chrome 21.0.1180.60 m: Slides down and out of sight, like described above.

    I use Chrome the most, so my previous messages have mostly been with Chrome.

    I’m not sure what the Firefox Google bar is, I don’t think I have it. Here are all the extensions I have for:

    Firefox: Adblock, All-in-One Gestures, Download Statusbar, Firebug, Greasemonkey, IE View

    Chrome: Adblock, DviX Webplayer, Eye Dropper, IE Tab, Session Buddy, Smooth Gestures, WhatFont

    I’ve compared my tooltips’ css classes etc with the Flashlight demo site, and it seems everything is the same. I’ve inspected my site and it doesn’t look like I have any conflicts. I’ve disabled every single plugin, and this still happens. I’ve completely reinstalled the theme with a new copy downloaded from Themeforest.

    I must have missed something or have done something incorrectly. This is such a neat feature and I’d really like to use it.

    Please let me know what else I can do to help you guys out.

    Cheers,

    Mike

    in reply to: External Link creation not working #86086

    Are you typing <a href="www.google.com">Google</a> ? Maybe type <a href="http://www.google.com">Google</a>

    Is there any way to extend this further to include URL and Gallery tabs like the normal WordPress media uploader? I have tons of images already uploaded since I migrated from a different theme, and it’s a lot of images to sort through using the Media Gallery. Would be easiest to import with csv, but apparently that’s impossible since this saves to post meta, so URL might be easier.

    in reply to: Featured Image is lost every time I save the Product page #81059

    Has this been confirmed to be fixed? I still find that the featured image disappears when I save a product.

    Hey Nick,

    Thanks a lot for taking a look as well, a few hours ago I was working to resolve a different issue (the tooltip problem on this forum), and I was activating / deactivating mass plugins and it was crashing my site. Luckily this developer had run into this type of issue before with Abundance and had the solution ready to go.

    Best,

    Absolutely, that was my thinking as well. This solution came from the same type of issue I had, but with the Abundance theme, so the rep at 61extensions wasn’t completely sure it would work for Flashlight, but it turned out well in the end. He also mentioned that the solution Dude posted may be a more elegant one, but since this already worked, I didn’t think we needed to pursue that one.

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85535

    Alright last update I guess, I’ve reinstalled, I’ve just deactivated every plugin I have (including the php code ones and woocommerce), nothing seems to work, the tooltip still performs as before. Anything else I can do?

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85534

    I’ve reinstalled the theme again and the issue still appears :(

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85533

    Hi Devin,

    I actually disabled the wishlist plugin several times, thinking that was the culprit. Still no dice. I currently have 1.7 installed, I’ll try to reinstall and see how things turn out.

    Thanks,

    This is the solution 61extensions provided:

    Just insert into functions.php

    add_action( 'wp_footer', 'sod_live_ajax_fix' );
    function sod_live_ajax_fix(){
    ?>
    <script>
    jQuery(document).ready(function(){
    jQuery('.thumbnail_container').live({
    mouseenter:
    function(){
    var container = jQuery(this), buttons = container.find('.button');
    container.containerHeight = container.height()/2;

    buttons.css({opacity:0, visibility:'visible', top: container.containerHeight});
    if(container.containerHeight < 20)
    {
    container.containerHeight = container.height()/2; buttons.css({top: container.containerHeight});
    }

    if(buttons.length > 1)
    {

    buttons.each(function(i)
    {
    var button = jQuery(this);

    if(i == 0)
    {
    var newPos = container.containerHeight - button.outerHeight()/2;
    button.stop().animate({top:newPos - 3, opacity:1})

    }
    else
    {
    var newPos = container.containerHeight + button.outerHeight()/2;
    button.stop().animate({top:newPos + 3, opacity:1})
    }

    });

    }
    else
    {
    buttons.stop().animate({opacity:1});
    }
    },
    mouseleave:
    function(){
    var container = jQuery(this), buttons = container.find('.button');
    container.containerHeight = container.height()/2;

    buttons.css({opacity:0, visibility:'visible', top: container.containerHeight});
    buttons.stop().animate({opacity:0, top: container.containerHeight});
    }
    });
    });
    </script>
    <?php
    }

    Hi Devin,

    Thanks for your suggestion, I went ahead and disabled all of my plugins save for 3 (WooCommerce, and 2 php text widget plugins only because I have some code saved and don’t want to loose those). The tooltip still comes in from below and can’t really be seen. Are there any other possibilities?

    Thanks for the response, I’ll shoot a message to the plugin author and see what can be done.

    in reply to: Tooltip gets stuck #85529

    Sounds good Ismael, thanks for taking a look!

    Thanks for your response Jack, I inspected the site and didn’t see any errors, definitely would like someone else to take a look just to make sure though. The website is thenewburystreet.com, I think you can also click my picture for the site. Thanks so much!

    in reply to: Pages have a hard time resizing #71778

    Never mind, I got it to work, I didn’t have WooCommerce configured correctly and config.php wasn’t picking up the right pages, so it was apparently defaulting to the product big title layout.

    in reply to: Pages have a hard time resizing #71777

    It seems that all the pages with formatting issues all have the shop menu bar at the top. It looks like it’s displaying a product page. Also, the shop menu links are having some issues linking to the right pages.

    woocommerce-config > config.php > lines 155 control this part, so maybe there’s something here that’s causing the issues?

    in reply to: Pages have a hard time resizing #71776

    Hello Ismael,

    Thanks for responding! I just changed it to Abundance to see how it would look, it was only meant to be a temporary thing. I still want to use the Flashlight theme. I have changed it back and noticed the issues are still there. Would you mind taking another look? Sorry for the mixup!

    Links for comparison (my site followed by demo site):

    http://www.thenewburystreet.com/gallery-wordpress-default/

    http://www.kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/gallery-wordpress-default/

    Template is the default, but shows big letters.

    http://www.thenewburystreet.com/shortcodes/

    http://www.kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/shortcodes

    Template is the default, but displays 490px width

    http://www.thenewburystreet.com/contact/

    http://www.kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/contact

    Also uses the default template, but compared with the demo site, the heading is large and the content box is wider.

    Thanks!
