Ok. Thanks. I wasn´t uploading anything small. I uploaded a big featured image for the sllider and hoped the theme pulled a nice thumbnail.
But your answer led me to go the functions.php file and changed from 180 x 180 to 180 x 80 which works just fine to resize the featured post without cropping anything.

Txs,. That worked just in the homepage.
What about in the blog page? Shoudn´t I do similar in “single.php”?
Txs again.December 30, 2010 at 12:43 pm in reply to: How to define the width of the text area inside the images on sliders? #38789
Txs. It worked so far. The client will decide :-)
By the way, is there a way to remove the onmousehover effect on the post preview images?

Txs. I realize now that you thought I was talking about the Title area of the sliders. I was talking about the “excerpt” area of the slider.
Anyway to limit the width?
Txs. Really apreciate it. I promised the client I would launch the website tomorrow.
The size of the images changes, but the block behind it is still there.
I will now put the maintenance mode ON (the client asked) but will send you an email with the WP user and pass.
Txs a lot for your time.
I tried changing this:
and this is what happened: block is there, but just the outline.
I just tried that plugin, to no avail.
Image and box are still there.

OK. Thanks a lot. But this left a black block below the 200px picture (the remain of 320 – 200) .
I tried changing line 400 in style.css, but that also changes the sliders´ height.
How can I remove that black box, without changing also the sliders height?
Can someone help? I have no idea what happened and what to do.
The line below the menu, disappeared. Again, if needed I can give access to the WP admin page.
Alltough I agree that priority should go to those who can´t set up the theme, I also agree that this would be the most wanted feature for the next upgrade. Being able to select either pages or posts to be featured in the slider. One OR the other.
My 2 cents.
I searched for similar to Firebug, for Safari, and found Web Inspector. Very, very cool. Not new, but I just didn´t know about it:September 6, 2010 at 1:04 am in reply to: Removing info from posts (Author, Categories, etc…) #32390September 4, 2010 at 5:58 pm in reply to: Removing info from posts (Author, Categories, etc…) #32388
I meant “3 posts” on the homepage. And this is where I want to limit the number of posts displayed, below the slider.September 4, 2010 at 5:57 pm in reply to: Removing info from posts (Author, Categories, etc…) #32387
As for the “limit posts”:
I have done this, and it limited the number of posts, however, I still have 3.
I have defined (on Newscast Options) to limit to 2, and have made both your changes.
