    Hi Nick,

    Maybe I did’t explained myself well, but I was looking to modify the built-in feature “Related Entries” that never showed up in my side due to the following “possible bug”. I’ve completely forgot about that feature and started to implement my own as above.

    * Possible bug

    In WPML enabled site, potfolio related entries are not populated form the database.

    * Workaround

    In file related-posts.php, around line 51, exclude WPML language filters from the query.

    Replace :

    $my_query = new WP_Query(array(‘portfolio_entries’=>$tag_ids, ‘showposts’=>$postcount, ‘ignore_sticky_posts’=>1, ‘orderby’=>’rand’, ‘post__not_in’ => array( $this_id ) ) );

    With :

    $my_query = new WP_Query(array(‘portfolio_entries’=>$tag_ids, ‘showposts’=>$postcount, ‘ignore_sticky_posts’=>1, ‘orderby’=>’rand’, ‘post__not_in’ => array( $this_id ),’suppress_filters’=>true ) );

    I’ve just discovered this now, and I’m able to modify the output to ( previous | 1 | 2 | 3 | next ) or what so ever.

    I do not know if this is the right solution but worked for me, still open for suggestions or improvements.

    Thanks.

    Well, after spending few hours with firebug it turns out to be a general bug in ajax loaded portfolios. Even without my requirement to preload the first item, the same issue appears with fresh theme installation in ajax loaded portfolio sample pages. This is not the case in Choices online demo where avia.js is slightly different than the packaged one ;)

    I’ve managed to get myself going by modifying the load_item method fn.avia_ajax_portfolio function around line 258

    From :

    if(post_id === is_open) {return false;}

    To:

    if(post_id === is_open) { animating = false; return false;}

    I’m not sure if this is the right fix, but everything is just working fine.

    Best Regards,

    Hossam

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply,

    here’s the link, just loaded with the dummy data and the javascript fixes are included http://www.tawwar.com/template-files/portfolio-4-columns/

    The “Nice Image” item is preloaded nicely, but if you click on it’s link the other links became irresponsive, tested on FF, Chrome, Safari.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Working great except for one side effect, the page is scrolling down to focus the portfolio item being loaded.

    This portfolio page is last element of my home page (via Template Builder), so scrolling away the heading elements (logo, menu, slider ..etc.) is not really nice or efficient for visitors.

    Thanks May, I will go for the media query path.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply,

    For (3) I mean to have special templates (or pages) to only serve mobile devices. Basically I want to turn-off my home page Sliders when shown in mobile devices, and display static image instead.

    Regards,

    Hossam
