Hi!

No, imo the folder name doesn't contain any version number by default. Glad it works now :)

Thanks for doing that Dude, especially at the weekend. That worked a treat - I just renamed the folder from Broadscope 1.4 to Broadscope14 and it all worked.
I think, however, that this is how the folder was named when I unpacked it - or did I rename it myself? Can't remember, but if so you may want to change the package.
Thanks again I'm delighted to be back on track.
regards,

Hi,
I looked into it and the problem is caused by the theme folder name. Please make sure that it doesn't contain a . character. Eg rename broadscope1.4 to broadscope14 or broadscope_new. Atm the url path returns a 404 not found error (i.e. http://buildersnorthyorkshire.org/wp-content/themes/broadscope1.4/framework/css/avia_admin.css?ver=3.5.1 )

Kind regards,

Sorry, I didn't see your reply. I decided to change hosts and rebuild it.
I built a new vps server, without cpanel and immediately installed a wordpress site.
Then I uploaded 1.4 and without any content or changes I immediately went to the broadscope admin page to make changes.
Straight away I see there are no icons/graphics and straight away none of the changes worked.
This is a super clean install. Clearly there are problems with 1.4.
This has cost me days of downtime and days of work.
I'm going to go back to 1.3
I'll send you a link as requested but go and work on another domain with 1.3 to test it.

I'm getting the same thing. I went to change some options and the Save All Changes didn't work. So I did the following:
Deleted inactive plugins.
Deactivated remaining plugins.
Backed up everything.
Uploaded 1.4
Swapped out the css file.
Activated 1.4.
Now I can't save any changes and I don't get the icons either.

I have checked the fix you indicated in the avia_option_pages.js - and it is correct.
Tried Chrome and Firefox
Cleared down the browser cache, cookies, history (everything) on both browsers.
Checked and Repaired database using PhpMyAdmin

Still can't do it. Can't save anything and now my site looks a mess.

Any more suggestions? What if I revert to 1.2 or before?

Thanks in advance

Hi Peter

either you have already partially fixed it (which would be unbelievably fast) or I have found a solution / work around!

I accidentally used a different browser this morning and it worked. In Chrome it doesn't work in Firefox it does!

Obviously might still be an issue for someone who doesn't know - but I am happy for now.

Many thanks for your support.

thanks for the idea - but I checked the file on and the line of code was already exactly as per the new code suggested in the thread you linked through to.

We have upgraded from 1.1.3 to 1.4 and the custom.css has been copied to the /themes/broadscope/css directory (where it was on the prior version) but it no longer appears to work.

Also, (& it may be related) any changes made within the Broadscope Theme Options are not being saved - the Save All changes button is not becoming active.

Hi All,

You can add any content you want there inside the header.php file. There isn't however any backend option available for it so it would have to be done with raw html/php and then css to align the content.

Hi cosmochaos,

Unfortunately we aren't able to offer support for WooCommerce integration for Broadscope. I would suggest using hooks/filters however as replacing with template files tends to cause issues.

Hi,

I'm trying to integrate Woocommerce into the Broadscope theme since a few weeks and there is something that is beyond my understanding.
After looking all over the web , and trying to read the code , i can't figure out how to make appear the right sidebar widgets on a product page. It seems like the sidebar area is somehow there but there nothing in it.

In order to fit the woocommerce single product page style to broadscope theme, i had to override the woocomerce single-product.php.
To do that i took the the page.php removed the broadscope loop and inserted the commerce hooks which gave this. And this worked like a charm , and it gave a pages like this : http://www.depannage-mac-paris.com/produit/reparation-clavier-pour-macbook-pro-aluminium-non-unibody-intel-15-et-17/

The code of the single-product.php is now like this :

<?php
	/*
 * if the user wants to display a blog on that page do so by
 * calling the blog template and then exit the script
 */

	if(avia_get_option('avia, frontpage') != "" && avia_get_option('avia, blogpage') == $post->ID && !isset($avia_config['new_query']))
	{
 get_template_part( 'template', 'blog' ); exit();
	}

	/*
	* check if this page was set as a portfolio page by the user
	* in the theme portfolio options
 */

	if($portfolios = avia_get_option('avia, portfolio'))

But the sidebar doesn't appear at all...
I'm not sure if it's the right place to ask the question , but as the woocommerce support is dead since while i wanted to post it here.
If anyone has a suggestion to make , i more than glad to hear..
Thanks in advance.

Hello!

I'm trying to add an additional menu to my site. I've registered it in the functions.php file:
function register_my_menu() {
register_nav_menu('mobile-menu',__( 'Mobile Menu' ));
}
add_action( 'init', 'register_my_menu' );

And I'm using this code to call it in the header.php:
<?php wp_nav_menu( array( 'theme_location' => 'mobile-menu', 'container_class' => 'mobilemenu' ) ); ?>

However, several lines of this error gets outputted:

Warning: Attempt to assign property of non-object in /..../wp-content/themes/broadscope/framework/php/class-megamenu.php on line 222

What is the proper way to add additional menus to this theme?

Thanks!

hmm. i don't know how excluding links like that would alleviate the image from repeating, but thanks. i changed the content area width for the widget and that seems to have taken care of it.

No, you can use plugins like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-or-sidebar-per-shortcode/ to insert the widget with a shortcode into the post content. If you want to use a "real" sidebar I'd recommend to use the standard page template and to use the plugin "widget logic" to hide the cart widget on all pages except the shop page.

Hi Nick,

And thanks for that anwser.

However what i'm looking for is the possibility of inserting widgets that appear on the right side and outside the content area ? and while keeping the visual of a Fullwidth template of Broadscope. I guess this will require more than a WP extension.

Hi,

This plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widgetize-pages-light/ is the best way to create custom widget areas and place them wherever you wish , including within the content area of each post/page or template.

Simply create a page. Don't add any templates to it. Instead add the Columns shortcode for 2/3 and 1/3 columns ( http://www.clipular.com/c?5054095=JuCV1lh64JM87oU-0yvgZXoq85I&f=.png ). Inside the 1/3 columns you can add the sidebar shortcode generated by the above plugin and then add widgets in Appearance > Widgets. And to the 2/3 column you would add your page content.

[two_third first]******Enter Regular content Here*********[/two_third]

[one_third]*****Enter Short Code For Sidebar from Plugin Here******[/one_third]

Thanks,
Nick

Hello,

Well a function that i would really like to have is being able to use the widgets on a fulwidth template page , and on the right side of the page. This would allow me to insert a CART for the e-commerce solution that i would like to implement (woocommerce)
My website is http://www.depannage-mac-paris.com

I found this post that answers the question for the Brightbox theme , however it's not exactly the same for Broadscope..

http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/how-do-i-add-a-sidebar-to-the-fullwidth-page-template

Hope anyone can help me to get it work .. thanks in advance.
