I've looked around the forms for the answer to this but can't find it.

I'd like to have a sidebar on the front page. The page is still called "Welcome" as it is out of the box. In the Frontpage Template, i have "right sidebar" selected for Dynamic Template Page Layout. No sidebar appears. I have added a sidebar to "Welcome" under the Sidebars tab in the theme options. In Select a PAGE that should receive a new widget area i've selected "Welcome!" and hit save. Then i've gone to the widgets screen and added a widget to the new "Page: Welcome!" that has appeared. Still no widget on the front page in a sidebar.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

You will see a video and a google map embedded on the page. The video is from a regular embed code. The google map is from a short code from a plugin.

In the both cases, they generate iframes, but the iframes are getting a style applied to them that change the dimensions, so that they iframe is taller than it should be, and so that it is not as wide as it should be, cutting off the iframed content along the x axis.

I firebugged the page, and below is the code, showing the style="width: 205px; height: 406.667px; getting applied to both iframes.

I am not entering this style. I have not create a custom css for it. I don't know where it is coming from. It wasn't always doing that. Perhaps it was in a recent theme update. I don't know. I disabled the shortcode plugin, to see if that was doing it, but the problem persisted.

Please advise on how to remove this style from getting applied to all of my iframed content.

Thanks,
Rob

Hi,

To create a nav or menu, you can place a code like this

wp_nav_menu( array('menu' => 'Header Menu' ));

On Appearance > Menu, create a menu called "Header Menu".

If you want an image:

A code like this will work:

echo "";

Creating a sidebar is a bit complicated, it will totally mess up your header style. First you need to register sidebars, you can add something like this on functions.php

register_sidebar(array(
  'name' => __( 'Awesome Sidebar' ),
  'id' => 'awesome',
  'description' => __( 'This is an awesome sidebar!' ),
  'before_title' => '
',
  'after_title' => '
'
));

You will have a new widget area called Awesome Sidebar on Appearance > Widgets. To display that sidebar, edit header.php find this code

do_action('avia_meta_header');

Below, add this code:

dynamic_sidebar( 'awesome' );

Add a text widget on Awesome Sidebar to test it.

Regards,

Sorry for misunderstanding. In the Incarnation-Theme, I can include in posts a divider with top-link. My question points to this: is it possible to have instead a text "top" an image?

The logo is larger than recommended, but when I try to resize the containers in css I am not getting good results.

Hi!

Yes, you could create an "Organization" category for the sermons post type and add the archive page link to the main menu.

Regards,

Hi Peter,

The sub-menu code doesn't work for me when I enter it into the Quick CSS box. Any particular reason why this wouldn't work?

Thanks.

Hi vagsera,

Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

.js_active .toggler {
font-size: 14px;
color: #333;
font-weight: bold;
}

You can then adjust the style as needed with your own font size, color code and either keep or delete the font-weight line.

Regards,

Hi,

The easiest way to deal with widgets is to use widget logic plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-logic/

Then you simply add the language to the extra field on each widget and that's it. http://wpml.org/2011/03/howto-display-different-widgets-per-language/ . It's a lot easier then going about it the other way, since you will have all your widgets in one place instead of segregated by language.

Thanks,
