Hello. I want to disable reviews, too. I understand to turn off the discussion on the product page but on Abundance I can't find the discussion field! All I find is the Reviews Field option without an on/off tick. What am I not seeing? Is there another setting somewhere?

Hello, I need to add 2 paragraphs of disclaimer text to the footer area of my website but when I add the text to the footer.php file the lines are spaced way to far apart. I don't seem to be able to control it.

I've tried adding a new div and control the formatting that way but the same problem occurs. I don't see the css that's controlling this.

Here's the link to the test site and you can see that the footer spacing is way off.

http://www.navigatinggrief.com/new/contact-us/

Any ideas how I might fix this?

Hi ChristiMc,

I just want to verify something, you want to replace the gray box, not only the color, but you want to replace it with an image, without removing the magnifying glass. Having 2 images at the same element as a background is not possible. However, there is a way to do it, but you will be merging the two images (the custom box and the magnifying glass). You will need to use an image editor like adobe photoshop and open the custom box image and get the magnifying glass image an put it inside the custom box image and save it.

The merged image, let's just call it newimage.png. Place this image inside images > skin-minimal folder (where the magnifying glass is placed). Then replace the code above with this code:

background:url("../images/skin-minimal/newimage.png") no-repeat scroll center center #333;

Hope this helps. :)

Cheers,

Ok, now we're closer. However, I want to replace the box with an image, not another color. I've tried replacing the magnify_light.png file with my custom image already in that line of CSS code but that means the magnifying glass no longer appears.

So, do you have any other suggestions for me to replace the grey box with an actual image for the related post default image while still keeping the magnifying glass that appears on top of it?

Hi ChristiMc,

Sorry about that, Yes, it can be done. Kindly go to wp-content/themes/abundance/css/minimal-skin.css and find this line of code(line 522):

background:url("../images/skin-minimal/magnify_light.png") no-repeat scroll center center #333;

and replace the #333 with another color like #ccc. You can use this as a reference http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colors.asp

Hello Ismael and thanks for responding to my inquiry. Just to be clear, I'm not talking about related "products" just the related "posts" feature in a blog post.

I have a default related products image that is 300px x 300px and that works fine.

If you look at this post: http://www.navigatinggrief.com/new/grief-101 and scroll down the page, you'll see the related post rectangle that is a dark grey/black box. I want to replace that box with something more appealing.

Can this be done?

Hi ChristiMc,

It's hard to filter that, because if we try to remove that gray box, it will also remove the gray border in other related product's images. However, we can do an alternate solution to that, for the product that doesn't have an image, you can upload some default image with a size of 300x300px. This way, related product images would look more consistent, and enhances the overall design of your site. :)

Regards,

Hi ChristiMc,

I'm not sure about it, as I've used the following codes and tested it using the latest wordpress version and latest version of the Abundance theme, and I've been switching from HTML to Visual editor and vice versa, and everything is good.

Hello and thank you for responding to my support request. All of the options you outlined above work as long as you never use the Visual editor. Once you use the Visual editor and update the post, all that is left is :

&hearts for &hearts
? for &#9829: (colon replaced with semi-colon)
? for &#x2665: (colon replaced with semi-colon)

I know this works because it worked with an older site that we're converting to this theme so something's different, I just don't know how to figure out why the old site didn't mess up the heart icon in the Visual editor.

Any more ideas for me?

Hi ChristiMc,

I think the abundance theme and wordpress recognize the heart code correctly. You can try to use one of these codes(all of them are the same heart symbols, just different code):
&hearts:
&#9829:
&#x2665:
Note: Just replace the : with ;
Hope this helps. :)

I'm trying to use the special character for heart (&hearts:) at the end of my posts. It works fine when I put in the code in the HTML tab but when I go back into the Visual editor and save the post again, the translation is lost and all I see is the code for the heart at the bottom of my post.

Is there something I need to do to make Wordpress or the Abundance theme recognize the "heart" code correctly?

Hey,
the "review tab" replaces the comments on product pages. You just need to activate the comments on all pages you'd like to show the review tab (discussion option field on the product editor page).

Hi, I'm trying to make available the Review Tab for every product I have. I wasn't paying attention as I built out the products with many variables where the Review Tab doesn't show on the single product page, but as I created a simple product tonight, the Review Tab is available on the single simple product page. Where am I missing the on/off switch to have the Review Tab available on ALL single product pages throughout the store?

to see the website: http://5bandco.com/?skip-maintenance-token=A92E56

example products: Look for Floyd Candle for the single simple product (shows review tab)
Look for the Peony candle for the variable product (does NOT show review tab)

Many thanks!
