Hey Nick , thank you for pointing the paragraph tag out.... I removed it. I know this is not a major issue and I am glad you were able to reproduce this , shows im not going crazy lol . If at any point this issue escalates and requires some sort of fix I think that http://viget.com/inspire/webkit-transform-kill-the-flash might be a possible fix. I might add Nick , that its not just the element in the screen capture that you got , this occurs randomly through out the site , Ive seen it show up in almost any part of the site, you can see here http://www.clearsolid.com/black-images/ . Anyways I appreciate all of your feedback and hopefully someday we can resolve this weird issue as I am using your theme for my own site lol :)

Cheers!
Dave

Hi,

Yarr, I have seen the beast with my own eyes! But was so surprised that i fired up firebug, and the thing immediately disappeared.. But I made a composite drawing of what it looked like more or less (not real screenshot of the problem). http://i.imgur.com/d079C.jpg

Come to think of it, it was more or less the same width and height as the slider,

You have :

<p></p>

right at the place where it began that servers no purpose. Would you remove it please.

This is so rare, and almost impossible to replicate (50 reloads). I did empty the cache the first time..

I wouldn't worry about it too much and when something is found, there will be a fix if this is even caused by a theme file or some weird interaction with that jquery you have on the bottom of the page in an iframe

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Devin, thank you I have updated the theme to its current version , unfortunetly I noticed the black elements immediately when I went to the site in chrome. I cannot reproduce these black elements in IE or FF or OP , only chrome and safari. I have a feeling the above link might fix this issue but I dont want to make changes if you are going to release a fix for this problem. Anyways please keep me posted on your actions,
Thanks and have a great weekend! :)

I just noticed on looking back at your site that you are using 1.2.0 of Choices and the version available from Themeforest is at version 1.5.

See: http://www.clearsolid.com/wp-content/themes/choices/style.css

Definitely try updating your theme files. You can just upload the new theme version right on top of the old to overwrite all existing outdated files.

Hi dave99,

What happens to public view when you change your permalinks to the default setting?

While testing, try turning off all plugins you have active as well. Just in case one of them is causing a conflict. This includes things like Jetpack or any other drops ins installed.

so in the permalinks section I have "Post Name" enabled so that the links look like http://www.clearsolid.com/sample-post/ . I have saved this a few times. What should I expect to see in the .htaccess? This doesnt seem to be fixing the issue.

You understand that these portfolio items work fine when im logged in, its only to public users that this issue is arising

I think this is a permalink/slug rewrite issue. Please try to flush your permalinks. Go to Settings > Permalinks and makesure that you're using a valid permalink structure. Then hit the save button and reload the page one or two times. This will force WP to rewrite the htaccess file and to "flush" the permalink rules.

I have not edited any theme files as of yet. There are quite a few bugs im finding with this theme and need resolved before I start to jump into it. I am still waiting for a fix on ticket http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/elements-occasionally-flashing-or-rendering-black too . Anyways Im still loving this theme , just needs some touch ups.

Back to this issue... it seems to be session related because if I am logged in as an admin , these previews work fine, but as a public user they function as you saw.

Devin I have created a page for your viewing , http://www.clearsolid.com/black-images/ , something weird is going on for sure as I have quite a few people seeing the same thing when they come to the site. I have not even begun to edit the themes code yet, just been using the panel

You can send the information to my email at DevinVinson (at) gmail.com. Make sure to include a link to this topic so that my spam filter doesn't grab it :)

Please keep the size of the images to a minimum or use an image hosting service and send me links.

Your themes style.css still shows it being version 1.2.0 so please update to the most recent version available from your downloads on themeforest. I believe it is currently at version 1.5.

Regards,

Hi Devin,
so I have managed to capture a screen shot of what I am talking about. is there an email I can send it to. Also I am not the only one who has noticed it , I have a couple other working on it and visiting the site. Im just wondering if maybe its a css issue, it mainly happens when I hover over elements that a :hover attribute attached to it. if you can supply me with an email I can show you the image I captured
