Hi gzezchrist,

You'll add it to the bottom of the skin css of the one you are using. So if you are using the default skin it will be in your css folder>style1.css.

You can also try adding it to your main style.css at the very bottom but it may need to have an additional !important property like:

.home .entry .date_container{
display: none !important;
}

Hello,

By date, you mean the little box outside the main content? Open your css folder and look for the theme that you're currently using, then put this code at the very bottom of it

.home .entry .date_container{
display: none;
}

Regards,

Hi Dude,

This was a great workaround and made Aviaslider do exactly what I wanted it to do... except for one thing:

I need to link the featured pictures to different posts so that they point to "featured posts" that I'd like to highlight and not just the hidden sticky post.

Hi,

in your archive.php you'll see

$output = __('Archive for ','habitat').single_cat_title('',false);
} elseif (is_day()) {
$output = __('Archive for ','habitat').get_the_time('F jS, Y');
} elseif (is_month()){
$output = __('Archive for ','habitat').get_the_time('F, Y');
} elseif (is_year()) {
$output = __('Archive for ','habitat').get_the_time('Y');
} elseif (is_search()) {

You can remove all occurrences of "Archive for", like this:

$output = __(' ','habitat').single_cat_title('',false);
} elseif (is_day()) {
$output = __(' ','habitat').get_the_time('F jS, Y');
} elseif (is_month()){
$output = __(' ','habitat').get_the_time('F, Y');
} elseif (is_year()) {

This should work without the solution Dude provided.

If the above isn't what you need you can undo it. Then, find the following in the same file:

if($output != "") $output = '
'.$output.'
';

Replace it by

if($output != "") $output = '';

Hey,
in your style.css file find

#top .nav a {

here you can change the value of
min-height: 55px;
. Decrease the number to your preferred height, make sure you put px after the value.

As for your logo, if you upload a logo which is scaled to a normal size it should be no problem. Try making your logo smaller and see what it does.

Thanks for your help. I added it to index.php and styled it...Much better now. I tried adding the styles to custom.css, but it didn't take. Do you have instructions somewhere for getting custom styles to work? Right now, I have it in the styles.css file, but would like to keep the core code clean for upgrades. Thanks so much for your help. -Janet

Hey,
it's not a better solution (because styling work, etc. will be required) but you can hardcode your text in index.php. Another option is to hide the tweet box/date - in index.php replace:

 <?php the_time('d') ?>
 <?php the_time('M') ?>
 <?php the_time('Y') ?>
 <?php if($k_option['single']['acc_tw'] != '') { ?>

 tweetmeme_source = '<?php echo $k_option['single']['acc_tw']; ?>';
 tweetmeme_url = '<?php echo get_permalink() ?>';

I'd like to add an intro paragraph to my homepage that is static above my posts. Right now, I do this by making a post sticky, but I don't like that the date / tweet box shows on the right, which can make the blog look stale if I don't keep editing the publish date. Can you suggest a better way to add some static content without the box? The site is http://rufftoyreviews.com.
Thanks!
