I have successfully implemented 5 languages on the Avisio theme via WPML.
Out of the box the plugin will allow you to translate all your pages and posts. The custom posts "portfolios" and "sliders" won't work out of the box, but I have changed the code of the theme so that it all works perfectly. Took about 30 hours of work, but was worth it. You can see the results at: http://macdoctor.lu ... It speaks 5 languages :-)
Don't hesitate to contact me for more info at bruno@macdoctor.lu
Kind Regards,

Do you mean the headlines? The headlines use cufon font replacement, so you can only use those characters which are supported by the font itself. If you use i.e. Lobster you won't be able to display special characters like th mentioned above.

Please have a look at: http://www.dafont.com or http://www.fontsquirrel.com/ to find a font which supports the characters you need.

Hi there :)
I'm pretty new to WP, coding and all that exciting stuff, so please bare with me if this a stupid question!
So here is my problem...

I've downloaded WP in danish and bought the new (and amazing Habitat) theme.

I've edited the css where I could, changing the theme into as danish as possible, but when I write the letters æøå in a regular post/site it just won't show! I haven't encountered this problem in the menu, pics caption or anywhere else...

Please help :)

The language files can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?0yi8z4njnrlceka

Please unzip the files and afterwards open the .po file with Poedit (http://www.poedit.net/download.php) and translate it. Save the translated file under following name "you-language-shortcut".po . Assuming you come from Sweden (because of the domain name :-) ) save it under: sv_SE.po

A list of shortcuts can be found here: http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
At least you save/upload the generated .po and .mo files in your themes folder.

@Kaj - I also sent you an email.

Kriesi doesn't provide these files. Some of his themes support translation, but the user needs to translate the theme himself. You need to scan the php files with Poedit to produce mo and po files. Afterwards you can translate theme via Poedit.

You'll find a tutorial here: http://codex.wordpress.org/User:Skippy/Creating_POT_Files

It describes how to create po / pot files. I can also create these files for you but I need to talk to Kriese first because I don't have the theme files at the moment. If you provide us an e-mail adress we'll send you the required mo and po files.

Hello

Im setting up a blog with your wonderful theme Newscast. I really like it. But I would like to translate it into my own language. The problem is that I cant find any language files. No POT-file, no PO-file and no MO-files. Do i have to download them separately?

Mvh / Kaj Johansson

first let me say, that I like the theme very much.
The only thing I miss is language support. Do you intent to add it in future versions, and if you do, when?

Thanx
