Hi,

Glad you were able to solve this. For CSS edits, its best to use Chrome Developer Tools which is a free Chrome plugin.

Thanks,

Hi,

I think you customized the code and somehow popped the footer out of where it used to be before and now it's on the same node level as the main content, when originally the footer was inside the main content node.

your code now http://i.imgur.com/R0EFAOt.png (incorrect location of footer div)

how should be http://i.imgur.com/l54D3Nd.png (i am moving only 1 thing, the footer div and everything inside)

(when i moved the node where it is supposed to be , the footer started displaying correctly on your site without extra css)

Thanks,

Hi Devin, you can ignore .content container as that part of the site is still a work in progress and has no influence on what I want to achieve.

I just need to figure out how I can sit/place a div container below the slideshow. This container is where my footer will end up being placed.

I'm not sure where that footer came from as its not in default theme layout. I really don't know whats going on but from my view the site appears almost unusable. It looks like the main source of that is:

.content {
max-height: 85px;
}

Which means any browser is unable to make the content larger than 85 pixels. This has been added to the Quick CSS in the styling tab of the theme settings.

The issue is at this depth of customzation, we aren't really working with the same set of files anymore so its hard to help on issues.

I am having trouble getting the following scripts to work with flashlight (I've tested them on other themes and html and they all work)

The first script is to apply a fade in animation on the front page elements

<script>
window.onload = function() {$('.home img').hide().fadeIn(2500);};
</script>

<script>
$(document).ready (function(){  {$('h2,h1,.menu,.footer,h3').hide().fadeIn(4500);};
//initialize after images are loaded
});
</script>

The second script is to apply a slide in and out animation to the slideshow buttons

<script>
$(document).ready(function()
  {
  $(".ctrl_back").mouseover(function(){
    $(".ctrl_back").animate({left:"100px"});
  });

  $(".ctrl_back").mouseout(function(){
    $(".ctrl_back").animate({left:"0px"});
  });
});
</script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function()
  {
  $(".ctrl_fwd").mouseover(function(){
    $(".ctrl_fwd").animate({right:"100px"});
  });

  $(".ctrl_fwd").mouseout(function(){
    $(".ctrl_fwd").animate({right:"0px"});

Don't why but my "hide sidebar and content" button isn't working either after you click the home icon and return to normal view.

On my android phone the .box container doesn't return, so there is just an empty space were it once was.

It would also be great if I could hide the footer as well when clicking the hide button, any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ismael, thanks. It's positioned at the bottom because I've used a position:fixed bottom:0, it's still overlapping the slideshow.

Sorry I don't know the correct terminology, but I will try to explain with this example. In photoshop you have layers, if you imagine the slideshow and the footer to be on two separate layers that is how the site currently looks. But I want them on the same layer.

Hope that makes sense :s

Hi Vincent,

That looks like it should work and in testing the same exact shortcode except using one of my own product slugs on a post it spit out the correct group of categories. Perhaps there is a plugin that is conflicting with WooCommerce and causing its shortcodes not to work. Maybe double check that the category slug is correct or try out the shortcodes on a different blank post.

Hi,
In an article I created here: http://www.manscape.co.uk/remove-dark-circles-naturally/ I inserted after the text a WooCommerce shortcode to allow for a related product category to show after the article. For some reason or the other its not showing at all not even a hint of it. Is there something may have missed? Here is the shortcode I used with product category ID.

[product_category category="69" per_page="4" columns="4" orderby="date" order="desc"]

ok I figured out that the IE7 bug was caused by having no height defined so I added the following to the css style sheet

html,body {height:100%;}

I've given up on this so I've decide to completely redo the navigation menu using superfish

Could one of the admins please confirm where the container is for the navigation menu

I went to "flashlight\includes\admin\register-menu-walker.php" but there is no sign of ".main_menu main_menu_menu_manager" or "#menu-navigation"

-edit-

NM, thought I had checked sidebar.php but I guess I hadn't. Found it

Hi Chris, ok thanks. Do you have any idea what is stopping me from being able to scroll over the child links in IE8?

Hi,

concerning your IE7 issue you should have a look at this.

I'd also like to add we try to answer the support questions within 24 hours, however it is my fault quite some topics have gone unanswered recently because I couldn't fill in my shifts.

Your request is a customisation of the theme, which isn't within the direct scope of the support forum - and it has been passed as a feature request.

For further requests you can paste code between backticks as suggested below the "Send Post" button, this way we can have a clear look at the code you're pasting.

Let us know if there's anything else.

Hi Martin, the technical support here is poor as well unfortunately, I'm going to have huge delays launching this site because it takes so long to get a response if at all :(

You can edit the main style.css/minimal-skin.css or add overriding styles in the custom style section. I've tried to use the custom style sheet as much as possible to make upgrades easier.

First of all I removed the position absolute and left positioning from the parent link i.e.

#top .main_menu .menu ul {position:relative !important; left:0px !important;}

Next removed the padding from  #top .main_menu .menu li li {padding: 0 0 !important;}

Then I had to remove the border-bottom from #top .main_menu .menu ul li a {border-bottom:0px !important;}
You may want to keep the border but remove the border from the ul, so you could use this instead

#top .main_menu .menu ul {border:0px !important;width:200px !important;}

After that's done you need to add a position to the child link ul container i.e
#top .main_menu .menu ul {position:relative !important}

Then as Dude mentioned, find the 'avia.js' file in the js folder, removed the display:block from the line
sublist.css({display:'block', opacity:0, visibility:'hidden'});

mine looks like this now

sublist.css({opacity:0, visibility:'hidden'});

Think that's it, hope that helps

-

Hi Larssonk22

The default sub-menu in Flashlight sucks, and just like you, I would prefer it was positioned underneath the parent links.
Would you mind sharing how you created your submenu?

Best, Martin
