I have a similar problem with posts being 1 off. I created a template for a blog category. This page properly displays all the blogs from the category I tell it. The problem comes in when I create a template with columns. I select that I want one column to show a blog post from a specific category. If I have 2 blog posts in this category it pulls the first one. If I have 3 it pulls the 2nd one. If I have 4 posts it pull #3.
I would like my most recent post to show in my column area. For example if I have 4 post I want the 4th (the most recent) to display.
I tried deactivating all my plugins and I also installed the latest version of BrightBox. It's still having the problem.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey,
maybe a plugin causes this problem. It seems like something is messing with the post query. Try to deactivate all plugins and check if it helps. Kriesi released an update for Brightbox today so maybe it solves your problem. You can download it at http://themeforest.net

i'm running into post issues.

for example, i created 3 posts under the same category and it's assigned to a specific blog. when i go to that blog, it only shows the first 2. if i add a 4th post, then it displays the first 3. if i add a 5th, then it displays the first 4...etc.

website: http://www.tfbc.org

are you familiar with this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,

If the plugin has problems, but adding the shortcode maunally has no problem, I can only summise that the problem is the plugin.

Which one is it? I can take a quick look over it to spot an obvious problem but this isn't within the scope of the role of this support forum so can make no promises about a resolution.

I am using a plug-in for single page access/purchase. It generates buttons for me that link to my Paypal account. All goes well until I try to insert the shortcode into static text area as part of the 3d tablet or when I try to build columns within my post. I receive an error from paypal that they can't decrypt the certification ID. If I just throw the shortcode in the post by itself with no columns or special templating it works fine. What could be causing Paypal's inability to see the code correctly? Is there anything I can alter? Thank you!

Hey,
Brightbox offers a build in contact form. I use Contact form 7 and I love it - it offers some advanced features like duplicate mails or a file uploader for attachments. Some others prefer cformsII.

Is there a contact form in this theme that I can use? How does this work? Do you recommend any solutions? Thanks.

Hey,

As you've setup the Blog link as a category (rather than using a custom page template) it looks for posts added to the "Blog" category.

You can adjust the page in a couple of ways:

1.) Change it to a Custom Page Template in a page called Blog. Basically, duplicate the index.php file, naming it template_blog.php and add this code to the very top:

<?php
/*
Template Name: Blog
*/
?>

2.) Keep it as a category bearing in mind only posts added to the Blog category will show up here. You can also use a plugin such as WP No Category Base to remove the category part of the URL of adjust the category base under Permalink settings (WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks) to acheive this.

Let me know if this needs further clarification.

I made a copy of the index.php and it worked! Thank you! But now I have another issue. I want to start blogging but my posts are not appearing under my "blog page". How do I link those two together? My posts and my blog page.

I also tried to add one of my categories as one of my navigation pages (appearance>menu, like you told me), I'm able to see all of my posts BUT I get a headline saying "Archive for blog".

Ideally I would like to keep the URL: http://celiasdesign.com/blog
instead of: http://celiasdesign.com/category/blogs

If it's not possible to keep the URL: http://celiasdesign.com/blog How do I get rid off the :Archive for blog"?

I hope you understand me.

Hey,
you have two possibilities:

1) Just link to a category (Appearance > Menu). Create a "category link" and name it "Blog". All posts of this category will be displayed on your "blog page" afterwards.

2) Make a copy of index.php and rename the duplicate to template_blog.php. Then replace

<?php get_header(); ?>

with:

<?php
/*
Template Name: Blog
*/
?>

<?php get_header(); ?>

At least go to your "Blog page" (page you link to in your main menu) click on "edit" and select the "Blog" template.

Hi there,

I initially didn't want to include a blog on my website and I deleted all the dummy content, but I've changed my mind and I would like to use a blog page as part of my navigation but not on my main page. How can I add a blog page?
