Hi balero98,

You can change the way the images are display on the page by going to the Gallery Options under the visual editor for that portfolio item and then choosing one of the Gallery Layout options besides "Image list attached to the entry".

Regards,

Exactly how was the last request sorted? I'm getting the same list with the image appearing on the right upon rollover of the title. I'd rather have a category page of item thumbnails.

hello,

in Theme Options>Styling there is a pink (#ff00c4) selected.
And it does'nt seem to be the qtranslate plugin either which
is deactivated right now.

It happened right away after installing the Theme with the demo
content and nothing changed by switching to any of the Heading
Fonts under Flashlight>Styling>Heading Fonts.

Quite confusing - i see it working with you demo - in the same
browser..

Thanx'N

Hi nasch,

In your Theme Options>Styling try selecting a color other than #555 for the option "Secondary Color". If that doesn't work for you, try disabling qtranslate and see if that resolves it.

If you look at the demo, the menu is using a cufon font and has the hover effect still intact so its a matter of pinpointing what in your installation is causing it not to work correctly.

Regards,

Currently this is not possible. You can use third party plugins like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery/ , http://showcase.dev7studios.com/ or http://www.tn3gallery.com/ to achieve what you want though.

As far as I know the wordpress search is very limited and it's not possible to search for tags, etc. However you can try to install advanced search plugins like Relevanssi.

Hi,

Not sure if I have the terminology down on this, since I can't find the answer in this forum by searching.

My client wants to have her customers be able to search her site's photos via colors and themes, across galleries. When I upload a bunch of photos to a gallery I see no way to tag them individually. I put some descriptive terms in the description section for each image but the search doesn't pick up that (just says "no posts match" the search term). Any ideas of how to handle this?

(Closest I came to finding info on this on this forum was this bit of info:

Hey,
to add tags support for portfolio items open up upscale\includes\admin\register-portfolio.php and replace:
'show_in_nav_menus'=> false,
with:
'show_in_nav_menus'=> false,
'taxonomies'=> array('post_tag'),

but I couldn't find
upscale\includes\admin\register-portfolio.php
anywhere.)

I'm having the same hover issue with all the Cufon. Of course it's especially bad on the inert main menu. On one of my pages, where a list of links is in H2 Cufon font, I tried giving it an underline just to signify that the words were links. That did not take either. I've tried all the various css changes listed on this thread and in the forums, none made a difference. I'd hate to go back to Arial—any chance that this Cufon hover issue can be fixed? Thanks for letting us know...

Hi Bokehman,

You can add the following to your Quick CSS or custom.css to fix the way the date is displaying:

.minor-meta{
clear: both;
}

I'm not sure what you are looking for with the permalink structure you have now, but you can see some details and pre-written ones here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks

I've sent the request over to Kriesi for the blog display but its ultimately up to him to include it into a later update or not. I know it can be taxing to have to go to the support forums whenever there is an issue you are unable to tackle on your own, but the main benefit is that is free after just purchasing the theme :)

Yeah. (Mostly) noob here, too.

I would have preferred the categories to be displayed like this ...
http://www.kriesi.at/themedemo/?theme=angular

Having them in closer proximity to the galleries makes more sense, IMO.

You can also set up sub-pages under a Portfolio page using menus.

Eureka! @dennkiel your video did the trick.

Here's what else I learned (which all seems obvious now):
• Under Portofolio Items "Add new" means "new portfolio entry" which is like a post. I thought maybe it meant new portfolio which confused me.
• The content area on this new entry is for text only. You designate the photos by uploading them to the item's Gallery area below.
• Before hitting Save, double check that you've chosen a gallery layout, like "flexible grid gallery." The default "background slider" shows nothing in the content area.

@Bokehman I'm going to try the Category widget in a sidebar just to see how that works. I didn't think I wanted a sidebar on my Home page, but we'll see.

THANKS so much for your help, guys. If only I'd had this "down 'n dirty" video before embarking on my highly frustrating journey yesterday. You should make the video a sticky post at the top of this forum.

More questions to come on other smaller topics....

Same here. I think the documentation needs to be expanded.

Not sure if this helps. I asked this about a week ago:
Can I set up folders in the portfolio section (ie. vacation, still-life, etc ...)?

And the answer was:
Not quite folders but you can organize by Categories. You can then add a Category widget to your sidebars to let people click on them and display everything under that category.

Hi Kelly!

I've been in trouble with the portfolio too! ;-)

Take a look at this screencast: http://www.screenr.com/ePCs
It's not for our theme, but it works the same way.
Don't search for it: you don't have the sorting option.

Dennis

I know you've answered this before, but I am unable to follow the answers. In one frustrating thread, the guy was running into the same problems i am and then wrote, "Oh, I finally got it. Thanks" without sharing his epiphany. I figure if I start my own thread at least I can ask questions until I get it.

Like many, I want to have a main Portfolio page that has 4 images on it that when you click on each one you are taken to its corresponding gallery page. Right now via the menu I see my 4 dropdown gallery pages under my Portfolio main page, but I'd also like to have the main Portfolio page have 4 image buttons (a piece of art I made that is a representative photo with the gallery title on it) where someone could click on each one and be taken to its gallery (instead of what looks like just a single post page). This is what I seem to be seeing on the Demo Portfolio page—or am I seeing something different?

I cannot figure how to have the click-through go to the right place, except by uploading my four main images directly into the Portfolio page, and making sure their url clicks through to the corresponding gallery page. That doesn't look right, and judging by the demo it isn't. Then I tried uploading a bunch of items in a Portfolio category, with the button image being the last item, but no images showed up at all on my designated Portfolio page, even after choosing the category in the Portfolio Theme Options.

I guess I'm confused about Portfolios, items, and uploads and galleries. Is there one place I can go to read about all that? I would put a screenshot here of what result I'm looking for but don't see a way to do that. I've spent many hours on this now, getting close but then frustrated.

Thanks for any help.

Bump (again).

http://www.element118.com/photoblog

Ok, I managed to do a bit of customization found in the following posts ...

http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/short-text-on-the-blog-page
http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/blog-posts-not-full
http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/date-next-to-the-blog-entry

I got the full text on the blog page, plus the date block. However, the date is not displaying properly.

The bigger issue is one of navigation. I need the links on the blog page to go directly to my gallery. I set that with the image (using insert into post, and applying a link). I also added a "Continue to the gallery ..." Clicking on the blog title brings you right back to the blog post, and I know that will confuse people. It seems I cannot edit the permalink to one that will bring me to the gallery. Perhaps this is a Wordpress thing.

It seems a few other people here have asked about using full blog posts. You (the developers) may want to consider adding that functionality into the theme settings, rather than all this PHP customization. (ie. a button that says "Use blog excerpts" or "Use full blog posts"). I consider myself barely intermediate with HTML and CSS. I have no comfort level with PHP and I'm sure many others here do not, as well. I choose a Wordpress environment precisely because I do NOT want to have to spend much (if any) time tinkering with code. I understand you cannot possibly incorporate every little bit of customization into a theme, but it seems like this is doable.

I'm glad to see Kriesi is hiring more support staff. I've been patient but admit it's wearing thin.

Ok ... making progress ...

Is there any way to not have the blog excerpt when you first land on the blog page, and have the full blog post AND the date 'cube' at the upper right? Basically, bypass the synopsis and go right to the blog.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Bokehman,

Yes, the featured image aspect of the posts is being overwritten by the themes slideshow options.

You can make sure there is no lightbox effect by removing any link attached to the image. IE, when you insert image into the post, make sure you select none for the link.

You'll have to specify the width you'd like your image to be to prevent clipping/overflow. 430px wide should give you a picture that fills up the whole top part of a blog post.
