position:absolute;
top: 20px;

change top and left value at will.
some simple basic css tutorials should do the trick for you :)

learn how to use firebug or chrome inspector and google some tutorials on css and you are good to go I guess ;)

Thanks so much. Hey so what's the code to move the logo around? And is there a place that all these codes are compiled so I don't need to keep bothering you?

At least I know I was doing it right all along! hopefully this thread will help other newbies avoid simple mistakes like this! Thanks!

PS: seems to work, your menu is moved :)

You should also make sure to shift reload the website in your browser, otherwise you might get a cached version of the css file and not the actual file :)

d'oh, it looks like I was editing custom.css in a text editor and saved it as a text file and uploaded it! what program should I edit .css in?

EDIT: K, it seems even editing it in dashcode and saving as a .css doesn't make changes to my site. Whats up?

Hi!

simply add it afterwards, always outside of the }, the amount of lines between doesnt matter, i would suggest 2-3 so that its readable but this is totaly up to you ;)

Best regards,

I see! Okay one more question. So far I've only added one modification to custom.css (when I changed the dimensions of the logo), but where do I place more code like the one you placed?

Right now my custom.css looks like this:

/* Have fun adding your style here :) - PS: At all times this file should contain a comment or a rule, otherwise opera might act buggy :( */

#top .bg-logo, #top .bg-logo a{
height:158px;
width:209px;
}

When I plan to edit more, do I put it at the very top? or do I do it after the } or a line down from the } I have no coding experience so I don't know what spacing needs to be.

Thanks so much!

Hey!

You can move the menu by adding this style rule:

#top #header .main_menu .menu{
right:0px;
top: 49px;
}

Modify the top and right value to your likings.

if you need more room bellow the fullwidth logo you can set the container height manually:

#header .container.main_menu {
z-index: 101;
height: 200px;
}

last but not least make sure that the image you use is not larger than 930px, otherwise it wont appear centered

Excellent! It worked! However now the navigation menu is covered by the logo (since I made the logo wider). How do I lower the navigation menu? Also, my logo doesn't seem to be centered, despite my clicking the CENTERED box:

it doesnt make changes to the wp-cp, it makes the changes to the view in the frontend, the part that the user sees :)
After you have modified that part you simply upload your desired logo and it should reflect the size that you entered in the css file :)

I ended up reinstalling WP and eveyrhting is fine now! That was very odd indeed! So, I'm new to all this, so lemme see if I got this right. I edit the custom.css in a text editor then upload it to FTP to replace it and that makes the changes in the WP-CP?

Thanks, and thanks for the most bad ass theme out there!

The css folder is located in your theme folder which should be located at wp-content/themes/corona/css
There you will find the custom.css file which is perfect for changes like this

(your probably wont have access to the file if you want to use the wordpress backend editor, if thats the case use the designated CSS option field in your themes backend at: Corona->Layout & Styling->Quick CSS, and simply paste the css rule there)

Thank you for the prompt response. It says PLEASE DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE however!

* To make it easy to update your theme, you should not edit the styles in this file. Instead use
* the custom.css file that is located in your themes /css/ folder to add your styles.
* You can copy a style rule from this file and paste it in custom.css and
* it will override the style in this file. If you just want to add small css snippets you might also
* want to consider to add it to the designated CSS option field in your themes backend at: Theme Options->Layout & Styling

Where is this /css/ folder? And what is the process to make these changes appear in my wp-cp?

Also, I assume the code you gave me goes between:

*/

Hi metropolitandetail,

What you will need to do is add the following to your Quick CSS (located under the Corona Styling menu) or add it to the custom.css stylesheet located in the css folder of the theme. Then you can modify the height and width values as you need.

#top .bg-logo, #top .bg-logo a{
height:100px;
width:200px;
}
