Thanks Devin,
The Aviapoly solution works up to a point, but for the degree of flexibility and control I wanted I found CodeCanyon's LayerSlider WP plugin is the answer. Works perfectly in Choices. $15 very well spent!
Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,

For #1, no I don't know of a way to add a stop to an individual slideshow.

For individual slide control you can use the Slideshow Aviapoly Slider and then on each individual image use the Aviapoly Options to control the effect for each image as it transitions. It isn't the same as the slide in or fade slider, but its the only way to get individual control over each transition.

Regards,

Hi, could you please tell me:

1) How to show all slides in sequence, but stop on the last one?

2) Is it possible to, for example, have the first slide come in from the left, the second from the right, and the third fade in?

Many thanks!
Matt

Hi Devin,

Thanks for the very thorough response.

1) I'll work at it and post back here if I crack it. It must be possible... mustn't it?
2) Works perfectly - thanks!
3) Shame, but thanks for looking into it.

All the best,
Matt

Hi Matt,

For #1, I really can't say how or where to begin with that. It wouldn't be as simple as just adding the php call for the descriptions somewhere since it would have to be activated based on the currently selected description. You can dig into the template-portfolio.php and associated files/functions but it will definitely take a good bit of time to get that added functionality.

2) You can use:

#top .template-portfolio-overview .portfolio_excerpt {
    display: none;
}

3) As far as I know (and this has been asked quite often) there is no way to pull up or directly link to a portfolio item pre-loaded into the page. You'll need to link directly to the portfolio item or to the overview where they can then select the portfolio items.

Regards,

Hi, loving the Choices theme, but I'm stuck on these three things. Hope you can shed some light!

1) How to show (relevant) Category Descriptions on the Portfolio Overview Page when a user clicks to sort by category. From the function reference pages I've found <?php echo category_description( $category_id ); ?> but I can't find where to stick it.

2) How to hide the excerpts on the Portfolio Overview page. Placing this:

#top .template-portfolio-overview .entry-content {
display: none;
}

in the custom CSS has no effect.

3) How to send users stright to an ajaxed Portfolio Item on the Portfolio Overview page, using an iframe URL. This may not be easily possible, but the Overview page does everything I need very elegantly and I don't intend to use individual Portfoio Item pages at all if I can help it (even though this would be simple since they do have their own URL).

Hope you can help!
Thanks,
Matt
