Hi!

I will close this one up for now. the update that brings ajax portfolios to the theme will also bring a better compatibility feature for existing portfolios :)

Cheers!

Yes, you need to reconfigure the theme options (all Settings on the "Theme Options" page) and you need to rebuild all "dynamic templates" with the new page/layout editor because the dynamic templates are not compatible with the new layout editor and vice versa. It's also not possible to write a converter or something similar because they're too different.

Hi Kriesi,

I have also just upgraded from Choices to Enfold and I'm a little surprised so much has not come across in the transition. I'm wondering if I have done something wrong.

e.g. Frontpage settings lost, logo, pricing tables, etc.

Looking forward to an easier transition.

Cheers,

Hey! I think I found a way to solve this issue. Since solving this requires me to implement the "ajax functionality" of choices as well it might last a little but I have already some ideas on how to make the transition as easy as possible :)

Hey Carl!

Unfortunately Enfold works with a completely different system so out of the box the old feature media is not compatible with enfold. I will think about a way to port those settings from previous installations to Enfold. Not sure yet if this can be done in a manner that makes sense. I will keep you posted if can come up with something smart...

I am moving from Choices theme to the Enfold theme. It appears that the "Featured media" images and video from the Choices theme are lost when switching to the Enfold theme. Am I missing something here? An easy way to get them to appear? Do I need to relink hundreds of portfolio item video and images to make the transition to Enfold?

Hi Tasos,

Unfortunately no, you would need to edit the theme files in order to change the layout of the portfolio pages. If you are interested in pursing it, the files are includes>loop-portfolio-single.php and functions-choices.php.

hi there,

is there a better way to add some quick css to allign the single portfolio image on top of page, instead of leftside - just like it happens with single blog posts...

that would help us a lot ! please...

Hi jmlavi13,

If you are adding a portfolio to a page with the Portfolio tab (in the theme options) there is an option for grayscale to be on or off. The option is not currently available in the dynamic template Portfolio element however.

Also to note, the option was added in Choices version 1.2 so you may need to update in order to see it.

I would also like to shrink the size of portfolio images on the single portfolio page. For me a portfolio is more textual based than graphical. How can I keep the image size the same as on the partner list. My use case is to show the partner logo list and when clicked go to a portfolio page showing more details about that partner. Or is there a better approach to achieve this.
Thanks.

Secondly, is there a way to switch the hover greyscale on the portfolio? I would like it color default, and greyscale when you hover?

Hi Chris,

My confusion, doh ! The Page layout box has options -

Big preview image, left sidebar
Big preview image, right sidebar
...
Dynamic Template

I didn't see this last option, and when I select it, of course, the dynamic template box shows.

Cheers,

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the response. Yep, I use Brightbox for another website and haven't had any issues with that.

I create the Template and save it. Create a new page, but I don't have the dynamic templates available only the standard templates.

It looks a little strange - below the "Overwrite default Page Layout" box inside the Page Layout box is an empty grey box where I assume the dynamic template should be.

Could this possibly be a conflict in CSS or something?

Cheers,
Rob.

Hi,

are you certain you're following the right process? First you can use the template builder to build a template, save it. Then you can create a page and select your newly created (and saved) template to your page. This should do the trick.

yes, since there is no way in css to set two containers with unknown content height to the same height i needed to use javascript. if you are only using one sidebar column just remove the jQuery(window).load(function(){ jQuery('.sidebar').equalHeights(); }); part and everything should work fine. I cant reproduce it as well but it might have something to do with the OS, will have a look at it :)

Hey Dude,

Problem seems to be related to the custom.js code -

function k_pixelperfect()
{
// sometimes some elements are offset by one or two pixels.
// this isnt anything bad but i really like pixel perfection, therefore this function adds some css rules for specific browsers :)
if(jQuery.browser.mozilla)
{
jQuery('#headextras #searchsubmit').css({top:"-6px"});
}

	//same size for sidebars:
// If I comment out this line the side panel displays correctly first time
//jQuery(window).load(function(){ jQuery('.sidebar').equalHeights(); });

I'm running Chrome on Windows 7.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for your response. It's not just happening with the facebook widget though - and in fact is happening with the Newscast demo.

Have a look at http://themeforest.net/item/newscast-4-in-1-magazine-and-blog-template/full_screen_preview/88548

Scroll down to the bottom of the side panel and you'll see that the archives are getting chopped off. If you reload the page it fixes the problem.

Hey,
the facebook inclusion you're using wasn't coded by Kriesi and therefore we know very little about how the code works exactly. This bug isn't a theme-specific problem as it is known to happen on other sites too. It would be time intensive to investigate this which makes it not within the scope of the support forum. I'm thinking the guys over at the facebook developer forum can help you out.
