Hi snobo7250,

The ID is actually a number created by wordpress and different from the name. You can find it in a number of ways but the one I always like to use go to your Posts>Categories. Then either hover over the category name or click on it that it opens. When hover, you'll see the URL for that category which looks like:

http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?action=edit&taxonomy=category&tag_ID=55&post_type=post

The &tag_ID=55 above is my ID for that category. So when you add it to the widget it would be 55. If you click on the category name that URL will be in the browsers Navigation bar.

Regards,

Devin

I would like to select specific category to display in the sidebar news widget while not displaying others. Under the Sidebar Widget it allows a "Title", "How many entries do you want to display", and "Enter the ids of the categories you want to display, separate them by comma:" When I enter the ID(which I assume is the categories name/title) of the only category I want to display the side bar still displays all the different post categories. I only want to display a specific post category, how do I do this? I don't want all the different categories to display in the widget.
