Hi proteinsupermarket,

First I would suggest disabling all active plugins as that is usually the issue with the shortcode generator not working correctly. If you don't have success there, you can try the change tflight suggested however there really should be no reason to since its a security check to prevent regular users from accessing the page content without actually being able to edit it.

Regards,

Hi Devin,

Unfortunately our Privacy Policy would prohibit giving you access, but I spent a couple of hours debugging this morning and this is what I have come up with.

Just to confirm a few details first, I'm running WordPress 3.5.1 and Corona 1.5 as indicated above. I'm logged into WordPress as a user with the role defined as Administrator.

Here is the file I'm looking at, specifically line 10.
wp-content/themes/corona/framework/php/avia_shortcodes/tinymce/dialog.php

if(!current_user_can('edit_posts')) { die(""); }

For some reason, despite the user being able to edit posts just fine, that check is returning TRUE so "die" is the result. If I comment out that line, the shortcodes start working properly again.

I don't know why that is the case as the user account can certainly edit_posts and I haven't seen any other issues with that user account nor the WordPress install. I'm not sure if I will have time in the next few days to dig in further.... but that is where the issue is coming from and how I've worked around it.

If you have any active plugins or extensions (jetpack etc) active, disabling them and give things a try again. I just did a fresh install of wordpress and the theme files and don't have any issues with the shortcode editor and adding shortcodes with Corona.

You could also try completely overwriting the theme files with the updated theme files via FTP in case something wasn't properly overwritten during the regular update.

Hi tflight,

Make sure you've updated your theme files by downloading the most recent version from themeforest under your Downloads. There was a round of updates for the themes to bring them up to date with 3.5 just recently.

I have the same thing going on with the Cronoa theme. Since updating to WP 3.5.1 the shortcode generator button no longer works. The window pops up, but it is blank. I disabled all plugins but it didn't make a difference. I also tried a different browser but that too didn't help.

Hi Shorty05,

There have been 2 updates since 3.5.1 and there hasn't been any reported bugs with the shortcode generator (so no fixes for it in either). If you have any other plugins besides WooCommerce installed, try deactiving them or updating them if they have updates available.

There could be a conflict with a plugin+theme+3.5.1 which wasn't there with 3.4.

Regards,

Thanks! That is helpful. I'd like to nudge a feature request then to allow a dynamic template to be a default page layout or default blog layout under theme options.

Hi,

Unfortunately you can't set a dynamic template as the Default Page Layout under Theme Options. You can set the default sidebar on Appearance > Widget > Look for left and right Displayed Everywhere widget areas. You can also assign a unique sidebar by going to Theme Options > Sidebar > Add new widget areas for pages and categories:.

Regards,

Also, when using the Template Builder, in the 'Dynamic Template Page Layout' if I choose 'Right sidebar' how do I control what goes in that sidebar? It defaults to Pages/Categories/Archive and I assumed it instead would have used whatever was in Appearance -> Widgets -> Sidebar Blog (right) but it doesn't.
