Hi Nick,

That worked beautifully and also fixed my login display issue! One left is the Equiry Tab display. Because this is for each product, so can't use page specific selector, how can I globally apply a fix for the display issue there.

here's an example product page:
http://tremblaytechweb.com/TWdev/shop/hardy-perfect-fly-reel

Hi,

Why dont you install the standard wordpress theme, its in your folder. The same problems will be experienced regarding taxes and Woocommerce will have nothing to complain about. The settings will not be affected. (well make a backup anyhow).

I looked, and there is tons of css from custom.css and woocomerce mod .

Please add this css

#top.page-id-833 .form-row, #top.page-id-834 .form-row {
overflow: visible !important;
}

Please add css targeting like this above.

Thanks,

Hi Nick,

To test things out, I deleted the CSS selector WooCommerce support claims is the culprit for my display issues; however the pages still displayed incorrectly. I put it back.

Thought to save you some time in testing this.

Hi Nick,

The display problems come from the following CSS file:
abundance/woocommerce-config/woocommerce-mod.css

I tried your CSS about using #top.woocommerce-account .form-row ..... it fixes the display issue in the Edit Shippping and Billing addresses pages, however, messed up my Checkout page even more. I can no longer get my Checkout page to display well at all.

WooCommerce support will not provide any support because of this customized CSS file. This file comes with the theme as should be updated because it has selectors with WooCommerce 2.0 that were changed. Such as the use of a "hyphen" instead of an "underscore", example, .woocommerce-tabs which cause me some product TAB issues, which I now fixed.

As for the data corruption, I'm not sure. I have 300+ products with lots of configurations, variations, related and cross-related, even upsell products setups. Not ideal at this point to start over!

Thanks,

Hi,

I did the following with a clone I made of your website.

1) Switched to 3 different themes
2) Exported the data and re imported it in a fresh install.
3) Replaced every single thing possible.

I was unable to get the data working with any theme or install. Which of course made me question the data/settings itself. (No this isn't the moment when I proudly say that I solved the problem). The problem has to be in the settings themselves. Because that is the only constant that remained after trying different themes and exports/imports.

You can get the tax to show up 100% of the time in one of two ways:

a) You can hardcode the select box with Provinces to always display British Columbia on the initial load, so at first during checkout (before filling out any information) they would see the tax rate of BC.

b) You can hardcode a tax in there to say <need to fill out country/province> so that visitors are aware that there is a tax but it can not be calculated until they fill out the province

c) You can use geo position mod of Apache to calculate based on the visitors IP address what province they are located in when they connect to the checkout page and display the tax.

d) You can switch from dropdown shipping options to radio button shipping options (for whatever reason that triggers the tax.

You also don't use SKU numbers and though I don't think they are required, they are always talked about as if they are very important, and I can't find anyone explicitly saying that they are not required.

It also looks like you had this for a very long time and probably converted the data when WooCommerce upgraded to 2.0. I have a feeling that during this time , something went bad with the data (thats the reason for that huge warning during the 2.0 upgrade about backing up). If that is the case, then I am afraid you will need to do some data entry again.

==============CSS

If you need for a block of css to only target a specific page, view source on the page you want to target (right click on your browser when on the page and view source).. Then find the <body tag (see image http://i.imgur.com/miGpHWw.png ) and pick out something out of there specific to that page.. in the case of the example in the image , you can pick 'woocommerce-checkout'. So add this prefix to your normal css selector (no space). #top + .the selector from body + your css

#top.woocommerce-checkout

#top + .the selector from body of page + your css

#top.woocommerce-checkout .form-row {
margin: 0 0 6px;
overflow: hidden;
padding: 10px!important;
}

Thanks,

Hi Nick,

I did all of what you asked: replaced wp-admin, wp-includes, all root files except config.php and .htaccess. I was able to login again, lost some custom CSS on login, but that's OK.

The problem still exists on the checkout page.Also noticed it also has that same issue on the following pages:
Edit Billing Address
Edit Shipping Address
Error page: after entered user ID or p/w wrongly.

I finally found the problem with Checkout page, I changed the padding here (set by WooCommerce):

'div form .form-row input.input-text, div #content .form-row input.input-text, div form .form-row textarea, div #content .form-row textarea {
color: #000000!important;
padding: 10px!important;
}'

For the Edit Billing and Shipping pages, the issue is resolved if I change the padding here:
'.form-row {
margin: 0 0 6px;
overflow: hidden;
padding: 10px!important;
}'
However, it messes up the Checkout page. Do you know where I can have this take effect without affect the Checkout page?

Thanks so very much,
Lyse

Hi,

Ok. This is a tough one. I went as far as cloning your site and trying to run it on my local box but the problem didn't go away.

I made comparisons between your wordpress 3.51 installation and a new installation, and there are differences. You have files which do not exist in Wordpress 3.51 . What you should do is this. First download and unzip ( http://wordpress.org/latest.zip ) the current version of wordpress on your home computer. Then using FTP (Filezilla for example), login to your server. You should then delete wp-admin and wp-includes folders and delete every file in the wordpress folder on your server ( with the exception of .htaccesss and wp-config.php ) Leave wp-content folder alone as well. After its done, upload from the unzipped wordpress folder the wp-admin, wp-includes and all the files in the root folder.

This will leave your website intact as long as you follow the above directions and not touch the wp-content folder, .htaccess file and wp-config.php file.

-------------

The problem is that for some reason your website is not correctly handling ajax requests and cookies. You can see this when you add something to your shopping cart. The page should not reload. But yours does. I installed a fresh theme to check, and the page also correctly does not reload a second time.

If the above suggestion doesn't fix the problem, you will need to port the website onto a fresh install with a new database, etc.. On the checkout page at first it loads the correct page but then it is directed to load a page by incorrectly reading the cookie and generating a malformed request.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

You are awesome. I have reported these issues to my host and SOAP has not been enabled. As for the strange file, they are investigating.

I can see my taxes work, but the checkout page still displays the customer details wrong. When I go to the checkout page, it flashes a full page display quickly, which look to be displaying correctly, however, I can't seem to pause it right as it comes up. The final displays is wrong.

What else could be cause this display issue?

Hi,

1) The scrambled files contained characters that led me to this page that I translated http://www.clipular.com/c?5771919=m483pYQesUd992Mo66Vl3rIzDg8&f=.png .... You can make your own mind about why something like that would appear on your server in form of images and folders.

2) Your server's problem is not size of page (1.5 megs is a small page compared to some monsters i see, interesting excuse though). Your problem is TTFB (time to first byte) . Your server sits and does nothing for a second or more during initial connection because Apache server or mysql perhaps are not correctly configured. Consider switching servers. A 1 second increase in load speed translates to a 7% increase in sales according to Amazon statistics. http://www.webpagetest.org/result/130513_6Z_a8b6fe2a5f1068791ac5cb15a93e1fb0/1/details/ ... Yours waits 4 seconds and then loads for 3 seconds. Normally it should be .185 of a second wait and 2-3 second load.

3) Your taxes work as you can see. Well not exactly. The tax I created works.

Thanks,

Hi Nick,

Thank you for pointing these out. I have corrected the CSS errors. I cleared all my cache, had to login to view my cart/checkout. The problem persists.

When I chose to login, the login page displays incorrectly, see here:

Hi,

I see that the settings I showed that work and yours are not quite the same. Can you deactivate the other plugins or they are already deactivated? because I see extra plugins.

also please check your custom.css file.. you have invalid css(two semi-colons):

div.swatch-wrapper.selected {
    border: 3px solid #335bad;;
    padding: 5px;
}

and in the same file also this (33)

.js_active #top .active_tab_content {
    display: block;
    overflow: auto;
    position: relative;33
    z-index: 3;
    border: 1px solid #2c3547;
}

Thanks,

Hi Nick

I have my taxes setup already and they appear to work. I also have some shipping classes setup. You can view my settings here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wqvp2of8com3zph/dzrxc1tUn1

The issues I still have are that the shipping options are not showing/selectable on the cart and checkout pages and the checkout page customer details email and phone files don't align to the left correctly.

Thank you so much,

Hey,

I figured it out at the end.

Here are 8 images corresponding to pages in Woo and how I set it up. It seems somehow taxes and shipping are interconnected. Don't forget to install the latest version of the Plugin.

http://imgur.com/a/F9leT

It took me a while to make all this, and it does work. I suggest you check them against yours , I used Canada as the base of my store.

Thanks,

Hi,

mod security was blocking ajax. weird. but yes, the file is available again.

--

Ok, how did you set up your taxes. There are a number of ways to do it, including one way that incorporates the tax into the price of the item , changes tax to 0 based on location of the customer, and so on. Looks pretty involved from all these diagrams and instructions.

---

Do you know how to set a tax called Alabama Tax for Airflo Rage Compact Fly Line at 19.5%? Whereby all orders where shipping address is the US state of Alabama gets a 19.5% tax but only for Airflo Rage Compact Fly Line s?

--

Thanks,

Hi Nick,

Thank you for researching this further. It is incredible to have to acquire so many Woo Extensions to make WooCommerce do what you expect from an e-commerce functionality. Most importantly, support for making all of these work/compatible.

I reported to my host and they have come back and said they disabled mod_security for me and that the 406 error should now be resolved.

I cleared my cache and tried viewing the checkout page again. No change?

Would you be so kind to check this out once again.

Much appreciated

Hi,

You bought 20 plugins and they wont give you support? lol. I will try my best to help you but besides the main WooCommerce plugin, I don't have any of the other's you mentioned so its not easy for me to test anything. Also some plugins still work quite well even when disabled. What I see:

According to WooCommerce , your host is blocking access to a number of files : ( https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/issues/2957 ) ... You have that same error ( http://i.imgur.com/DhE1LdH.png ) .. Contact your host support department and tell them you are getting a 406 http error (not accepted) .. on this file ( http://tremblaytechweb.com/TWdev/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/assets/js/jquery-cookie/jquery.cookie.min.js ) if host asks what is an http error, ask for someone who is semi-technical .. Again, refer to the first link for woocommerce above.

=============stuff below are errors which all trace back to the problem above.

1) When checkout page is loaded initially, for a split second tax is shown, and shipping address is shown, but then Ajax removes it while showing a spinning image .. The image shown ( http://tremblaytechweb.com/TWdev/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/assets/images/ajax-loader@2x.gif ) is coming from WooCommerce plugins as you can see by the url.

2) There is a jQuery error coming from this file ( http://tremblaytechweb.com/TWdev/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/assets/js/frontend/cart-fragments.min.js?ver=2.0.9 ) also located in woocommerce

***big problem***

http://tremblaytechweb.com/TWdev/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/assets/js/jquery-cookie/jquery.cookie.min.js?ver=1.3.1

THis file is not loading, you can click the above link and see what it says ( http://www.clipular.com/c?5661056=zOiU3DVdDz-ytzbNjgyOoVmOXxU&f=.png ) .. that is an important file ... again coming from woocommerce. , Please find out why you are missing it.

***big problem 2***

http://tremblaytechweb.com/TWdev/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

This file is throwing an error ...

======

Thanks,

Hi,

My suggestion would be to disable those 20 or so plugins and begin by activating one a time while reloading the page. Make sure you dont have any cache plugins activated and to clear your browser cache prior to activating each additional plugin.

Hi,

I took a look at your checkout form. You are using 1.9 and I am using 1.91 which had multiple woo fixes.

I do see the problem , just not sure what is causing it. because at first it doesn't show the 1$ tax and some other charge, but when i tried to view source they popped up and after i reloaded they disappeared again. Looking at that area the table structure looks like bad html coming from a Woo plugin. What plugins are you using, because I haven't seen an html table used by the main plugin lately.

		Product

		Total

		Cart Subtotal

		$ 19.95

<----------------------------this is where the space of 20 new lines is(nick)

		Order Total

		$ 19.95

		Scientific Anglers DVD – Anatomy of A Trout Stream × 1

		$ 19.95

And I left that empty space in the code as it was.. Still testing.
