Hey,
Abundance uses a complete new framework - the theme settings and featured images (slideshow images) will not work out of the box. You need to reconfigure the settings and set the featured images again. The content itself (and the wp plugins) should work/display like before.

Hi there, I have been using and enjoying the habitat theme for my website for a while now, on Wordpress, but would like to add Woocommerce to my site.

Having installed the plugin I have found that habitat doesn't like Woocommerce, so I'm looking at switching to abundance (I think that's the right name/theme!?).

Can I leave all my content in place and just install the new theme? Will it pick up the settings from habitat? Is that just wishfull thinking eh?

Or in reality should I just suck it up and make a whole new site then do a switchover? In which case is it less work to make habitat work with Woocommerce?

Thanks,

Cat

After further image uploading, it seems to hate ANY image that is 800px wide, as my 800px x 600px images also cause this strange behavior...

Hi,

Yes, I made sure they are full size when I added them as a featured image, and I have just been back and checked to make sure. If I change the size of that same image, before I upload, to 600x800 (4th image in the gallery), it works fine. I have also uploaded a 799x799 pixel image (5th in gallery), and this works fine too. I uploaded a new 800x800 one again to the gallery, and its done the same cropping thing.

I just doesn't seem to like an image that is 800x800 pixels!

So, I have found a workaround for now, which is to shave one pixel off the edge of my images and they will work fine.

Weird huh?

Hey,
did you check if you added all images with "fullsize"? I made a screenshot to show you what I'm refering to:

Hi,

I have installed habitat, but would just like to know how the image slider decides how to display images?

On this page http://blog.usecatsbrain.com/cats-print-shop/ I have uploaded two images into the 'featured' images part of the page.

The first image was 800x800 and the theme has cropped this image into the slider taking the center portion of the image, when you click on it, it remains cropped in the light box view.

The second image is 600x800 and once again it is cropped into the slider (rather unattractively!), but when you click on it it is no longer cropped in the light box view, you get the whole image. AND you get a thingy in the top right to view it full size.

Why is this? I would prefer all my images to display full size when opened in the light box view, even if it is cropped on the page view.

To add to my confusion, the crop that has been applied on the page, for image two, does not match the crop applied to the same image thumbnail in the light box view. One has chosen the middle of the image and the light box view thumbnail shows the top of the image.

I would like to know how I can ensure that any image uploaded as a featured image, shows the whole image in the light box view, rather than a cropped image.

Thanks!

Cat
