Hi wvanderzee,

The breadcrumbs should still show up unless the post type is set to Gallery (ex: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/choices/2011/02/17/aenean-vulputate-eleifend-tellus-aenean-leo-ligula/).

What you can also do to force it, is to make a template with the Template Builder and then add the Title+breadcrumb element, horizontal rule element and then the Page/Post content element.

Then you just apply that template to each of your posts when you create it and the layout will be exactly that.

Regards,

Hi, it appears that there's no breadcrum at posts when you've added a featured image? Is that correct. I'de like to have breadcrums on al posts, with or without featured images. Some posts have a featured image, but some don't. It depends on the type of post.

Hi,

I am sorry, I am not sure how I can help you since your site looks fine on every mobile device I can get a hold of and I don't have access to HTC Wildfire. From what you wrote me, Wildfire has problems loading other responsive websites. Is there a way you can perhaps see if there is an update available for the phone?

Thanks,

Hi Devon,

Sorry for my late reply, was abroad for some days.
Yes that's the site, I switched the responsive off, because it wasn't working. But I do want it to be responsive, but haven't got a clue how to solve the errors.

I'll turn the responsive on, hope to get a solution fot the errors

thanks

Hey jeffreyvanoostrom,

The site in question is http://abeltasmancanyons.co.nz correct? It doesn't seem to have the responsive design turned on at the moment so even on a PC the mobile dropdown menu wont show up.

Is this your intention or are you still looking to get the site responsive? If so, you'll need to go into your Theme Options> Layout & Settings > Responsive Layout and select Responsive Layout from the dropdown. Then save all changes and test the site again.

Regards,

Hi Nick,

Both the portfolio as well as the homepage dropdown menu's of the demo page are working fine on my HTC phone.
Biggest difference is that the logo on the demo page is above the menu. On my site it's below the menu...

About the .htaccess file > I can't find it on the FTP, not even with all hidden files turned on. Will this affect/improve only the speed or also solve the problem?

Hi,

Please take a look at the demo page for portfolio and home page and contrast both of them. Something is getting in the way of the code. Without being able to see the problem and code (which i cant replicate on other HTC phones under a year old) I am afraid there is little I can do about this. That phone has issues that even barak obama reelection website was unable to fix with all their resources.

What I can do though is suggest for you to add the code below to your .htaccess file at the very root of your website, since right now your site loads at the speed of a wounded turtle since you aren't forcing the browser to cache static resources, use gzip not have expiration headers.

After adding the code you will see a 50% speed increase for repeat visits and google will show appreciation by looking more favorably upon your site: Make a backup of the original file first and immediately test it by loading a page. If there is a problem use the original that you've backed up.

http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=RGyPYeLr

Hi Nick,

Checked the site on my mobile again.

The menu works perfectly fine on all pages, except for the page which has the portfolio items (our canyoning adventure page). Also the homepage doesn't work.
I did see that the "active area" around the logo on these two pages differs from the other pages. On the other pages is perfectly around the logo, but on the homepage and "gallery" page it is placed too high.

Maybe it can give you some clues of what makes these two pages different so the menu doesn't work

Thanks

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the reply.
Theme: downloaded the theme 4 weeks ago, so I quess that's not is
Wordpress: reinstalled the latest version

But here comes the strange thing: I deactivated all the plugins which could effect it and it worked!! I changed the layout.css to put the logo a bit higher and I turned a few plugins on, to see which one caused it, but then the menu didn't worked anymore. So I was pretty sure it was one of the plugins.
Deactivated them all again, but than the menu wasn't working anymore....

About the 'verdana-websave' I set the theme options > styling > Defines the Font for your body text > to Helvetica. Was did what you meant?

I really lost it now, because it seem to work for a little while.

If needed I can mail you the login of the dashboard

Hi,

This is what you already have. Just make sure that you are running the latest version of the theme, and the latest wordpress. What plugins are you currently using? please turn all of them off, and see if it makes a difference. The only other thing I can think of is the map widget. Try removing it and see if anything changed.

These are the specific differences between your site and demo:

* You inject a css class into body tag called 'verdana-websave' while demo doesn't (font, which right now biggest suspect after the map)
* You have a wo map console popup
* You use wassup tracker without cache as you are supposed to (unlikely culprit but just in case kill it during your test)

Good luck,

Hi Jeff,

First, you should see if the demo ( http://www.kriesi.at/themedemo/?theme=flagship ) works with that phone. If not then, the easiest thing would be to go to codecanyon and search for a menu that works with your phone. Just understand that its practically impossible for any website to create a single design that would look brilliant on every mobile device. Take a look at your site analytics and see what your customers use,

But probably creating a media query to target all phones with your screen size and showing them an alternate menu is the way to go about this.

Thanks,

Hi Nick,

Ok, on all three sites my HTC Wildfire almost immediately crashes, I get kicked off the internet. I see the dolectures site for about 2 seconds, but without the nav menu.

I also tested above three site with my girlfriends HTC Desire S. All three sites seem the work perfectly fine!

But when I tested the site I created abeltasmancanyons.co.nz, the dropdown menu also didn't work on the Desire S.....
I do see the menu on both phones, but I'm not able to click on the arrow to show the pages.

Damn, I was so in love with the Android phones but now there are letting me down.

Hope it's enough info to get in working. Thanks again guys for the great support!!

Hi,

I recently read something about a problem with phones that used Android 2.2 and got upgrated to 2.3 , such as HTC Wildfire, due to either use of Typekit or poor memory management. (ref: http://www.drupalgardens.com/content/typekit-webfonts-crash-specific-android-phone , https://github.com/FortAwesome/Font-Awesome/issues/215)

Would you try the following few sites on your Wildfire and see if you see any kinds of similar issues as you are experiencing:

a) dolectures.com
b) barackobama.com (especially that menu on the bottom that slides on taping categories

Hi guys,

The dropdown menu on my site doesn't seem to work on a mobile device. Tested it on a HTC wildfire, but I'm unable to click on the navigation dropdown menu.
At first I thought it was caused by the logo, which covered the menu. So I lowered the logo 40 px. But still the menu doesn't work....
Site = abeltasmancanyons.co.nz
