Hey!

I am very sorry for the problems. it seems the update was somewhat lost when synced with github. Not sure waht happend. I had to rewrite the code and will put it into the next update. it should then work as descibed.

Once again sorry for the confusion! :)

Cheers!

Hi Everybody,

I just updated to Enfold Version 1.6, removed picture, put it in again, emptied caches etc. and ..... nothing new with the mentioned problem: titles, alt-texts and even the description do not show up in pictures used in combination with the Avia Layout Builder although alternate text, caption, description and title are all filled out. So please could you go on attempting to find a solution for this quite important issue?

Thanks, Harald

As an example please look at the following page:

Hey!

1) Yes, there's a small bug in 1.5 and we released a hotfix with 1.5.1.

2) I can reproduce the issue - I sent Kriesi a mail and asked him to look into it.

Also, why does it appear there was an update v1.5.1 but there is no mention of it on themeforest? I can see from the 1.6 install video the guy has v1.5.1, as does one of the posters on this thread. My version was definitely only 1.5.

I've now updated to v1.6, but because v1.5.1 seems to have passed me by, I think I also need to update sidebar.php (from what I could see of the updated files on the 1.6 install video on vimeo). Since updating to v1.6, I still have the blank alt and title tags on any image inserted using the media element>>image on the page builder.

Hi guys,

I'm using v1.5 still (haven't updated to 1.6 yet), I've followed the instructions above from Kriesi but the alt and title tags still appear blank. I cleared my browser cache, still the same. Using the Avia Page Builder I am placing an image element into a 1/3 page element. The only time I see alt tags for my images is when I insert them using the text block element, which isn't ideal.

Are you sure v1.5 fixed this issue and if it does do you have any further suggestions for me? Do I need to update to 1.6?

Thanks,

Hey!

If you added the image to your content area/layout builder before the update you need to remove it and insert it again. The shortcode/builder element then saves the necessary image id as well, which is necessary to pull the other attributes from the database ;)

Cheers!

Hi Aleksandr,

It's an ambitious project since there are a various exclusions to consider such as situations where the image is simply an image without links,, or pretty boxes. I haven't tested all the new Media toys that came with wp3.5, but at this moment ,

if i understand you correctly, the last hurdle is to detach the value of an alt from an img tag and attach that value to the anchor wrapping the image but attach it as a title tag? And this should be done to images on the 3 links pasted above only (and of course similar formats on pages elsewhere)? .. I think jQuery may just do the trick since the idea of a php solution for this feels bulkier (as well as lengthy).

I will try a few things out, so please hang on.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Devin,

Thanks for answer, I managed to add title to ALT attribute of an image.
But second part is to push this ALT attribute from image to a wrapping link < a > TITLE.

<i>"The script on that page is a year old and submitted by a user to change the way that theme interacts with pretty photo."</i>
Yes, it's pretty old and for another theme, but it's very similar to choices function avia.js -> $.fn.avia_activate_lightbox that should be modified to push img ALT to link < a > TITLE.

Please help to accomplish that.

Thanks,

Hi Aleksandr,

As Peter pointed out in that topic, the default behavior for a title, is to add the title into the ALT attribute or your thumbnail image. To have display a description, add the description into the TITLE attribute or your link.

The script on that page is a year old and submitted by a user to change the way that theme interacts with pretty photo.

Just to note, you can add the information when you are uploading the images originally through the image editor that pops up and don't have to only go through the wordpress media library.

Hi Support,

This addition will be good for SEO and also good to make image popup more informative.

Could you please tell me how to add alt to < img > and title to wrapping < a > for slider image.
So when you click here:
http://www.kriesi.at/themes/choices/portfolio-item/tongue-stuck/
Image will have prettyphoto title and desctiption like here:
http://www.kriesi.at/themes/choices/template-files/gallery/

I did some research, I think this file and function should be modified: function-set-avia-frontend.php -> avia_image_by_id
You are really good support and I'm interested to make avia framework better.

OK. It is not the "perfect way" but I will do it. At least this time I am writting all the changes I have done and also using a child theme for all the css modifications. Thank you Ismael and best regards from Spain.

Hi Dietista,

You can the permission of that file to 444, so that it won't be overwritten during an update. This will ensure that the file will be in a read only mode. :)

Regards,

I have changed another file: line 63 in wp-content/themes/choices/includes/helper-social-media.php

$html .= "<a href='".$icon['social_icon_link']."' target='_blank'>".ucfirst($icon['social_icon'])."</a>";

I added the target='_blank' to pen the social icons in a new page. I do not want to change these files everytime I do an update. Is it possible?

Hello,

 I have add the alt an title tags to the logo. It is a common problem in all the themes using the avia framework. So i changed the line 395 in the function-set-avia-frontend.php file

$logo = "<img src=".$logo." alt='new alt information' title='new title information' />";

 Actually I am using a child theme to customize the css. Is there a way to change this information in the framework and do not lose this information in a future update of the theme?

 Thank you and best regards.

Hi sdslaw,

This is your logo correct?

http://www.sdsfamilylaw.com/wp-content/uploads/law-offices-of-scott-david-stewart-logo-11.png

If so, I see it. So at least that part is resolved. I noticed you don't have the ALT tag working still though so let's see if this works for you.

In framework/php/function-set-avia-frontend.php, find this line:

$logo = "<img src=".$logo." alt='' />";

Now assuming you want the same ALT info on each page, I would just do this:

$logo = "<img src=".$logo." alt='My alternative text goes here.' />";

Of course doing it this way means when the theme is updated you may need to re-add the ALT text.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Mya
