Thanks for the info. I could tell from the look of both elements that the code and its syntax couldn't be changed, and as long as there are no <i>unavoidable</i> W3C errors I'm happy. Thanks again for your help.

Hi,

Please read the warning on that website "be aware that it may be unreliable, or not perfectly up to date with the latest development of some cutting-edge technologies."

Those are not errors since HTML5 has never been formalized nor standardized, and that process should conclude by late 2014 . Even their regular validator is full of bugs (padding: 20 0 0 0; will always come up as an error even though its just as valid as padding: 20px 0px 0px 0px according to their own standard). That's why Amazon, Ebay, Google and Yahoo fail with hundreds of errors on each page.

http://wordpress.org/support/topic/wordpress-abuses-rel-tag

Please read the explanation from Wordpress moderator and Stackexchange senior members regarding this issue.

Thanks,

Hi,

I'm working through the site fixing html so it meets W3C standards. I'm having a problem with the archive pages. The errors the W3C validator returns are as follows:

Line 213, Column 136: & did not start a character reference.

Line 213, Column 1557: Bad value category tag for attribute rel on element a: Keyword category is not registered.

Line 213, Column 1715: Bad value category tag for attribute rel on element a: Keyword category is not registered.

These errors repeat for all blog posts. You can see the full list of errors, with more details, here:

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jobsource.ie%2Findex.php%2Fvacancies%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.3

I want to remove all possible W3C issues, but I don't know how to address these problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Adam,

I seem to remember there was an issue with Woo Commerce and the recent posts widget but I can't find the source for it at the moment. Can you try using a different plugin for your recent posts and seeing it that gives you any issues.

This is the quickest way I can think of to get you all finished and online asap.

Regards,

Hi Wouter,

Yes, you would edit the Archive.php template to do so. Just add a copy of themes file into your child theme and then edit it from there. There are some comments in the file to help guide you in how it pulls and then displays the information.

Regards,

Hi!

Like to change the Archive page for showing the Portfolio entries.

Currently it shows:

- title: Archive for: <portfolio item>
- sidebar at the right

What i like to do is:

- title: <portfolio item>, thus deleting 'Archive for:'
- no sidebar, but full width page showing the portfolio entries

How can this be done? By editing Archive templates? Which ones? Already using a child theme for Flagship, so that would be preferable.
Alternative via backend, but didn't figured it out how to do so.

Thanks!

Hi SA,

Let's see if this does the trick for you. Go to Propulsion > Template Builder and create a new dynamic template. On the side, click on the new template's name then under "Dynamic Template Page Layout" select Left Sidebar. Under "Add Elements" select Products from the list and click the green button. Once Products is added click the down arrow and complete your setup.

Save your changes then go to Pages > Your archive page. Once there in Page Attributes box select Default Template under "Template" then go to the Layout box select Dynamic Template from under "Overwrite default Post Layout" then the new template you created under "Dynamic Template".

Hope this helps!

Hey!

I am sorry I dont know a better open source breadcrumb plugin than navXT :/
Since I am not familiar with the plugin code its hard for me to tell you why it acts the way it does and how to solve it. The best way is probably to contact the author of the plugin and ask if he could help modifying the output in a way that suits your needs :)

Here is Johns contact page: http://mtekk.us/contact/

Please help! I need a breadcrumb for my site but I can't find a good working breadcrumb plugin. I have one breadcrumb NavXT but there is something strange going one.

The breadcrumb is working only if you are in the portfolio section and choose a portfolio item and you want to go back to the portfolio section it shows a archive page and not the page you came from. I change the permalinks to a custom one (/%category%/%postname%/) and it works. It goes to the portoflio section you came from. However, after a while it takes you again to the archive page. How strange is that? The custom permalinks is still /%category%/%postname%/. Is there a solution or is there anyone who can explain this strange behavior?

THanks a lot.

I want to make the archive loop look like the search loop. I have almost achieved the task, but I am not being able to figure out the

1. template code for the thumb-sized featured images (that appear on the search results page and the the widgets)
2. reducing the padding of the horizontal rule (it's much more than what appears on search results' pages)

http://whysodumb.com/category/1styear/

Help would be appreciated. :)
