Personally I didn't come across this issue. I had a similar problem when I updated the "Advanced Post Types Order" plugin - I lost all product categories. However I just deactivated all plugins and re-activated them and afterwards everything worked flawlessly.

hello,

I have sometimes the same problem.
just because of no reason all my categorys are not visible anymore.
but there are still on the server, but not in the shop anymore, after the update to 1.4 and the latest update of woocommerce it was perfect.
till today 2 hours ago.
i recognize that then also my server is not responding anymore, i cant login or put anything on the website.
the only result is to restart the server. i am happy to have a vps, because sometimes i need to restart 3 times a day.
it would be great if somebody knows this problem.

Hi,

Your second best bet is to just restart on a local dev server because sometimes its better to redo something then to hope that a unique and difficult issue can be easily solved. Sometimes the cause could be a bad install or a corrupted file.. Mysteries like this are best left for detective novels.

Thanks,

I'm not familiar with the data structure and probably your best bet is to contact the woothemes support team: http://www.woothemes.com/support

You can also try to switch to another theme (TwentyTwelve) and check if the problem persists. I'd also mention this in the woothemes support ticket - otherwise they'll ask you to switch to the default theme first.

Hey!

We've not received any similar bug reports yet. You can try to deactivate & re-activate WooCommerce. Maybe they changed the data structure a bit and WooCommerce uses the install hook to convert the database.

Hi,

I am running WooCommerce 2.0.9. Everything seemed fine but now I cannot find the product attributes anymore! In the mysql-Datebase the attrubutes are sill listed in the postmeta tab. But in the backend (and of course in the frontend) none of the attributes are available. I put several attributes in the Product > Attributes, saved those, added these attributes directly at hundreds of products.... Everyting WAS fine. Then suddenly the attributes are gone....

Is there anybody with the same problem?

Hi,

You can use the portfolio. Each portfolio item would be the part, and portfolio category would be the Specific Car Type. - 2010 Toyota Corolla LTD (or something).

There is also a plugin that allows a one to many relationships, where one child can have multiple parents. So if a child page is Super Oil 2300, you add bmw and mercedes as its parents.

However all these scenarios will require you to play with the code, so if you aren't comfortable with html, css, php, javascript, wordpress syntax, jquery, sql, ajax, etc... I would consider a freelance developer. Because you also aren't looking just to show this information, right? You want the end user to do something once they find that Super oil 2300 (add to shopping cart, etc) So there will be some integration involved.

You can also take a look at the Types and Views plugins, but again this is something that is not gonna be something easy without a learning curve and understanding of the insides of Wordpress etc...

Thanks,

Hi,

I'm sorry but I'm not sure if this is what you need. Maybe you can use the Product Attributes for Variable Products. Go to Product > Attributes, create a new attribute, name it Oil for example. Under Oil you can configure more terms. Now edit a certain product, select Variable product under Product Data. You can give infinite variations for each product. Please refer to this link. http://docs.woothemes.com/document/product-variations/.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this can be achieved - I am building a car part shop and am trying to find a way to filter data according car brands and models that are applicable to a given part.

For example, a certain type of oil can be used in a Mercedes A Class Year something and by a BMW M3. Something like that. Do you have a suggestion to achieve this with filters on the template and woocommerce?

Yes, I've tried that. But, it reorders it again once you hit save. So, it has to be somewhere within the coding itself. Woo Themes was hacked and they're still trying to reconfigure all of their data, so I can't go to them to see if maybe it's a woocommerce plugin coding that might be affecting it. I've had to do a work around for the time being and create 3 pages per product breaking down the variations so that it won't be so confusing for the potential client. That's the only thing I can do right now, but am hoping that the Theme Developer would chime in here and maybe can figure out why it's doing this and where to edit the code.

Thanks for the reply though.

Did you try to sort the attribute terms? Go to "Products" > Attributes > "Configure terms" and then you can sort the terms by drag'n'drop (hover over a "term field" and you'll see that the cursor changes - now you can move and reposition it).

I purchased the Abundance WP Theme from Themeforest to use for a client's website. I've tried several different ecommerce themes and I am hoping that this is the one that will work. However, it has taken a few days trying to figure out how to even add variation options to this theme. But, I did finally figure out how to add attributes and variations. But now I am having a problem.

I need the variable values to keep the order that I have them in. I've tried different scenarios, using 01, 02, A), B) but on the front end it shows up differently. For example: I've got this in the attribute values.

A) One Gallon|B) Two Gallon|C) Three Gallon|D) Five Gallon|E) Seven Gallon|F) Ten Gallon|G) Fifteen Gallon|H) Twenty Gallon|I) Twenty Five Gallon|J) Thirty Gallon|K) Forty Five Gallon|L) Fifty Five Gallon|M) Sixty Five Gallon

I have added this as a variation for one product. Chose the attribute values in the order given above giving each their respective pricing. However, when I go to the frontend, the drop down choice is not the same as I have chosen or given as the attribute value.

On the front end drop down it has this:
D) Five Gallon
E) Seven Gallon
F) Ten Gallon
G) Fifteen Gallon
H) Twenty Gallon
I) Twenty Five Gallon
J) Thirty Gallon
K) Forty Five Gallon
L) Fifty Five Gallon
M) Sixty Five Gallon
C) Three Gallon
B) Two Gallon
A) One Gallon

I need it to go from A thru M. Where do edit to make sure that it keeps the order I enter in the values so that on the front end the options make sense and in the order that I've added them.

Thank you,
Chris

Hi,

I think this guide can help you. Take it from step 16.

It's a little different (as the version you should be using is newer), but it comes down to adding the variations for each seperate value you've added. It works fine for me.

Let me know if it works :)

Cheers,
Chris

I just bought the Abundance theme, it's the best ecommerce wordpress theme i have seen.Nice job.
Now the problem is: when I add the attribute to a product, it appears in a separated tab" Additional information", and can not be select. I remember it was and should be a dropdown menu in the "description"tab.
I checked some posts here, manually input the name and slug entry, switch to the other theme, but these all can not solve my problem yet. anything else i can do to solve it?
And I only can edit the name/slug/parent/description of attribute, can not insert image, can not edit price, is that right?
