Thank you so much, Devin! I also have another question... where can I find the actual "codes" for the shortcodes? I was wanting to use the content slideshow shortcodes to create a photo gallery within a page.

http://aviathemes.com/aviaslider/

On previous wordpress themes I have bought, there was a site that actually had the shortcodes listed out with the code and then a sample of what it looked like. I haven't seen this for the Avisio theme and couldn't find it anywhere on the demo page or on this page. I also looked through the files included in the download and didn't see it, but maybe I am just missing it somewhere??

Thanks again for your response!

Hey orangebulb,

Try this:

#top #wrapper_head{
background-image: url('http://semco-electricmotors.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/drawingbg2.jpg');
}

That will give it priority if added to your custom.css file (in the themes css folder).

I am trying to put a background image in the header area. I have tried placing it in a couple different places in the code, but none worked. Most of the time it didn't show up at all. I was able to get it to show up behind the logo, but only the logo and not the full header. I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I needed some help!

Thanks Devin for your response.

That put the controls there, though that isn't the problem I'm having.

The photos are all being loaded, one after another, all of them displayed, then all but one disappear. Then instead of the transition, the next image seems to load a top part of the image, then the image is swapped out. There is no nice transition.

I'm wondering if there is a specific version of php required for the scripts or am I doing something wrong in the html?

It looks like you are missing the controlls.gif and the bg.jpg files. The controlls.gif may be the issue. Check the main files you downloaded and it should be images>layout folder. Then upload it to your images>layout folder.

I just bought and followed the instructions above, but I must be missing something - which is easy for me to do unfortunately. I made the mods to where the files are located and everything is uploaded, but the result I'm getting is quite different from what it should be.

Here is my example - apologies in advance. I would appreciate any help to make this work like it's supposed to, instead of how I have it.

Unfortunately this does not have any kind of editor other than HTML and is not a plugin but a stand alone set of code used.

You need to build the slideshow using the code sample and then paste in the HTML to your page where you want it.

If you can view the HTML of your home page, then you can use this.

Hi Devin,

for embed code, I mean to copy and paste the hotml code into my webpage and so to get it published.

The thing is for making my website I do not use dreamweaver, or anything similar to that. But I use a WYSIWYG website platform like word press. In my case is SBI! So there is no html code involved.

That's why I need to understand how I can use this plugin and have an embed code to copy in paste as a RAW HTML code into my home page.

Maybe do I have to use a CMS?

Hi David,

You'll need to add the first part into the head section of your html file so that it pulls the proper scripts. Then the second bit of code into the main body of your html file where you want the actual slideshow to appear. The content of each slide will be the image src as in the demo.

I'm not sure what you mean by embed code, could you explain a bit more?

Hey,
first include following files in the head section (before the closing head tag which looks like
):

And in the body section, add following code to display the slideshow/images:

Obviously you need to adjust the url to the images and the slideshow css/js files.

Hi All,

I just bought Aviaslider because I want to use it as a photo gallery slider show in my travel website.

Honestly I thought was kind of easy to set up this plugin, but I did not find any set up instructions in the file zip to help me out, and there is nothing at all in internet to take for granted.

I am now disappointed!

How someone can sell something without giving instructions?

Anyway...apart my critics...Can anyone kindly show me how to use this plugin into my website?

I do not use it word press but SBI for building my website.

Thanks a million to that person will stop by and be so gentle to help me.

I'd upload images with a width of at least 930px - otherwise the slider javascript "streches" the images. However you can try following css code to resize the images before the slider displays them:

.slideshow_featured.aviaslider_full img{
width: 930px !important;
}

Hello!
I have set my slider to "Fullsize Aviaslider" and uploaded images which are smaller than 930px (slider width). When the slider fades from one image to another there is a delay in the adaptation of the width, which makes it show the same image twice. Is there any way of not making it adapt the width? or any other solution to stop it doing this?

div name is:
class="autoslide_true autoslidedelay__3 slideshow_featured aviaslider_full block_width__full block_height__full transition_type__ direction__ slideshow_container"

Thanks!

Hi,

To quote Dude:

"The aviaslider doesn't offer a horizontal slide effect because it's not possible to use this animation with the dynamic height feature. Only the fade transition is supported at the moment."

Thanks,

Hi,
I have the Corona theme and would like to find or 'add' a slider functionality that I thought was available.
When using Aviaslider with transition type as slider, the only options for movement are diagonal, winding, randomized and all of these.

I would like to have a full width, simple slider from right to left for some of my pages. Can you advise code or CSS I can add to make this possible please?

Thanks, Siobhan

Yes - you can add a shadow to fullsize slideshows. Other slideshows don't support shadows. Add following code to css/custom.css to activate the shadows:

.slideshow_fullsize .bottom_shadow {
    background: url("../images/skin-minimal/shadow-featured.png") no-repeat scroll left top transparent;
    bottom: -5px;
    height: 11px;
    left: -12px;
    position: absolute;
    width: 954px;
    z-index: 1;
}

Friends... Forgive me for not being able to find an answer in the forum, but is it possible to add a shadow under the Aviaslider in Corona? If so, can you help me figure that out? Thanks in advance for you help.

That's a shame. I feel like this theme was billed/advertised incorrectly then. I purchased it because I thought that's what it could do.

Hey BillThorness,

In that case, you would need to use a separate plugin to create a slider with similar functionality and then insert the code to display it in the index.php before the loop of posts gets output.

As far as I know the theme doesn't have support without some significant re-coding to get that kind of effect.

Regards,

I know this isn't even a blog, this is a company, but see how this slider each image takes you somewhere new?

http://www.mountaineersbooks.org/

That's what I want the slider on my homepage to do. Each image pulling from a different blog post. Click it, and you go to that post. Is this possible?

I've done that, you can see it on my homepage. The issue I'm having is it's only showing images from my last post. I want to be able to have the slider show images from say, my five most recent posts. That way a user arrives, sees an image, is interested, and when they click they head to that post only. Right now the images I have scrolling only take a user all to the same post.

Hi BillThorness,

On the right hand side of the post editor there should be a box labeled Featured Images. It looks like:

Make sure you are using this box to add in your images for the featured images of that post. You can select Insert Image to add your first one and then hit the + symbol on the bottom left to add additional images.

Regards,

I have gone into two of my posts on http://coolseasongardening.com/ and selected images and made them "featured images". I also made sure that the slider is set, it's set to fade, use full images, etc. But the feature images are only appearing on the top of each post. I want the featured images to all come together at the top of my blog and rotate. If a user clicks on that image in the large slider, I then want it to direct someone to the single post associated with that image. Am I supposed to add some special code to make this happen?

Thanks
