Hi!

Solved - a plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/adsense-manager/ triggered a js error on the admin page. I deactivated it and now the template builder works.

I am putting a "Blog Posts" element on to my page and setting it to show a grid. When I select one post category to show and press "Save" it works. When I try to select multiple categories and press save, nothing happens. It simply will not save and close the lightbox popup.

Hi jmwilliams83,

Which page you have designated to display the blog feed on?

Try going to your wordpress Settings>Permalinks and changing them to default. Then go to the blog, click on a post and see where it takes you. If it goes to the correct location, you may have an issue with the permalink settings.

You can try switching them back as sometimes refreshing them fixes issues, but if not it may be something more with how they are set up as well as your pages/posts slug names.

Regards,

On my site (www.relevantfl.org) my blog page shows any new blog posts that are created. However when you click on one of the actual blog posts it goes to attempting to load a page that does not exist (www.relevantfl.org/archives). How can I fix this so that individuals can access individual blog posts to comment or share the post?

Thanks so much Nick, the css works great.

I did what you suggested to resolve the button issue. Turns out that under General - Reading - there was a conflict of home page allocation it was different there than I had done in the coalition theme settings. Fixed now. Thanks Again.

Hi,

Strange with the menu. Have you nominated the homepage and blog page only in Coalition > Theme Options ? Another place to do that is Settings > Writing , please make sure that nothing is set there. That is an anomaly. Could you check the settings I mentioned, then deactivate the plugins / flush browser cache, then please try a new template for the page.

Please add this to /css/custom.css or to quick css to change size of the column

#top .template-blog .entry-content {
width: 670px; /* was 350px before */
}

You have 1.5 and current is 1,7 , however 1.6 has a number of security updates so version you are using is less secure imo than the latest version.

hi Devin,

the issue has been resolved,

but regarding updating of theme, can i check if i don't update theme, is it ok? Will it make it more vulnerable to hacks? If no then i prefer not to touch it because i'm afraid it might mess up my current site. because my updates editing are all over the place, i'm fearing that i might not get back the original edited files..

my most important question regarding this is..

Will it make it more vulnerable to hacks? Is it ok not to update the theme..

Hi papachew,

In the main package you download from themeforest there will be a version.rtf file. You can use that to then only upload those files that have been changed and try to leave out the css files that would overwrite your changes.

As for the issue, I don't quite understand what you are having issues with. Both of those posts are in the "promotions" category and when I select either one it takes me to the post's single page layout.

http://www.bagshoecleaningsanctuary.com/2012/12/22/christmas-promotion/

Hi,

Please log into themeforest using the account you purchased this theme and download the update. You are using 1.5 , which is not the most recent version. Please make a backup of your database and theme files since the update will overwrite all your themefiles so make sure to back up any customization you've made.

Also are you using a dynamic template on the article page? Please check to make sure that you actually have content for all items you've included in the dynamic template.

Yes that's correct. You can try to change the "Slideshow behavior on overview pages" option. (Flagship > Theme Options > Layout & Settings). Maybe the "Display default slideshow on overview pages and on single entries" setting will help you.

I think I may understand now. So if I want a thumbnail for the related entries, it will always show the full image above each post which in return would have the thumbnail and all the other sizes it auto makes once the picture is uploaded?

Appreciate your time in responding!

When I add an image to that area, my understanding that is for the slideshow in the header area.

How do I tell it to only use an image for the "thumbnail" image for the "related entries" boxes at the bottom of the posts?

I know it has to be easy but must be over looking something pretty simple.

Hi guys,

How do I populate the Thumbnail that shows up on "related entries" when viewing a single post?

http://bit.ly/UsWzCa

Thanks again!

Hi theflyphoto,

Are you using Newscast template? I can't find any template-blog.php in this theme and don't have a Blog option in my template.

I also checked the page reference above but my browser only shows me this: ecbiz124.inmotionhosting.com

Regards,

It doesn't appear the the actual blog page is using the blog template, even though I've set it to that specific template. You'll notice that in the breadcrumbs it's showing the name of the first post, not the name of the blog...

I have tried the following...

1) Naming a page "blog" and setting it's template to "blog"
The result of this is a blank page - no posts are showing

2) I have set the reading settings for posts page to the "blog" page I created.
This displays posts, but only excerpts and fails to use the "blog" template.

The blog template is supposed to display the posts correct??

Ismael,

I have already tried that approach and it is not working. Any other ideas?

Hi theflyphoto,

In your WP Dashboard, go to Settings > Reading and find 'For each article in a feed, show' and select 'Full Text' and Save changes. Hope this helps. :)

Regards,

In the template_blog.php file, what can I change to make the posts display fully instead of just the excerpts?

Here is the page for reference http://ecbiz124.inmotionhosting.com/~thedel11/blog/

Hi tamtamdesigns,

Glad that I could help. :) To your previous question, Yes, you can add it there, custom.css and Quick CSS is used for the same purpose "user customization". :)

Regards,
