I figured out what it was without resetting my database. In Avisio options I had selected to exclude a category that didn't have any posts in it. When I removed the exclude that category everything seemed to work fine.

If someone else runs into this, hope it helps.

Seems like something messed up your database. I You could try to reset your entire installation (means removing everything and starting without any content at all, the wp reset plugin can help you with this). There has to be a different solution though, maybe Dude has an other answer, I'm out of ideas. This shouldn't happen when the theme hasn't been tampered with.

Yup, I've already tried that. Also deleted several plugins. I've reuploaded Avisio's files from scratch and tried the DESC/ASC code. The only thing that has worked is when I try a different theme (like Twenty Ten).

It's weird, I even tried changing the date of the oldest post to be the newest post - and it's still in the same order (with the new date showing).

Please try to deactivate all plugins and see if this solves the problem. Maybe one is messing with the query and doesn't reset/rewind it afterwards. This would explain the strange post order.

No luck. I tried both ASC and DESC. It's odd because "Latest News" in the footer shows correctly.

Hey,

You can go in template_blog.php and edit:

$query_string = "cat=".$negative_cats."&paged=$paged";

to

$query_string = "cat=".$negative_cats."&paged=$paged&orderby=date&order=DESC";

If that doesn't suit your needs try changing DESC to ASC.

I've searched this forum and the internet and haven't been able to find solutions to this problem. When I switch to the default WordPress theme my posts will be in the correct order (from newest to oldest), but somehow posts are showing up in reverse order.

I am running the latest WP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
