Hi,

This is not perfect but this will get you started. Add this on your custom.css.

.slideThumb {
	background: transparent url(../images/background/background.jpg) center no-repeat !important;
	padding: 15px 15px;
	border: none;
	margin-bottom: 0;
}

.style_border {
display: none !important;
}

.thumbnail_wrap_vert .thumbnails_container .slideThumb {
margin-bottom: 0;
}

You need to create your own background file.

Regards,

Hi there

I was wondering if it was possible (and if so how) to make changes to the border and background of the secondary images in the main slider on the homepage. I want to try and use a customised border that is more in keeping with the rest of the site, and change the background of these images.

Ideally, what we would like to do is create a customised border that looks the same for all three images, except it's a slightly different colour for the one that is 'active' in the main part of the slider. Is it possible and which files would I need to edit? I've attached an image to give you a better idea of what I'm looking to achieve.

http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/2660/sliderscreenshot.jpg

Thanks

Hi ,

I don't have a smartphone so please try each of these to see what it looks like

Option A:
Please add this to your /css/custom.css or Quick CSS located in Enfold > Styling on the bottom of the page

@media only screen and (max-width: 767px){
.responsive .tabcontainer .tab.fullsize-tab {
border-left-width: 1px;
border-left-style: solid;
border-left-color: rgb(225, 225, 225);
border-right-width: 1px;
border-right-style: solid;
border-right-color: rgb(225, 225, 225);
}}

Option B

open up /css/shortcodes.css and find line 627 that looks like

{width:100%; max-width:100%; border-left:none; border-right:0;left:0; top:0; min-height: 0!important;}

replace that with this line

{width:100%; max-width:100%; min-height: 0 !important;}

and add this css to Quick CSS

@media only screen and (max-width: 767px){
#top .active_tab_content {
border-right-width: 0px !important;
}}

Hi,

I am using the tabs shortcode with the labels on the left with border. When checking it on a mobile phone I see that the borders of the bottom labels are broken.

Any idea how I can fix this?

Hi,
which OS are you using? I tried to reproduce the issue with Chrome (26.0.1410.64 m) and Win8 but I couldn't: http://www.screenr.com/C0e7

Maybe try to deactivate all browser extensions - sometimes they can cause display errors.

Hello,

on my homapage site (denis.stefanides.sk) there is a blue border with text NAJNOVŠIE PRÍSPEVKY (in the middle of page) and it's bugged. If i hit sort my items (for example Motion Graphics) then this blue border scaled down and after finish sorting he scale up.

Hi,

Please use this free service http://jpeg-optimizer.com/ to compress your images without loss in quality (checkbox for Compress Image set to 65; uncheck the size checkbox) . The image on the above page was compressed 90% from 474k to 58k without loss in quality or size. http://www.jpeg-optimizer.com/uploaded_images_final/swissbodypainting_0005__1366195440_111.118.136.68.jpg

You have a width of 530px available in your blog. When you insert an image with a width of 756 into that space and tell it to align right, left or center, the results will be the same as asking a rally fat person stuck inside a telephone booth to move a little to the right or left. :) Try using images with a width less then 530 so there is wiggling room.

Thanks,

Hi, in the blog I noticed that when I insert an image with a capiton (Align center/no aligned - Real dimension) my image is not aligned in the frame box and the picture goes over the right caption frame border.

Hi,

I've scoured the forum for help with the Lightbox/PrettyPhoto and I apologize for still having trouble, because there are quite a few help topics already posted.

I successfully removed the top, left, and right margins by editing the images in the prettyphoto folder, but I am unable to remove the white bottom border. From another thread, I've posted the following code into my custom.css

div.pp_default .pp_top, div.pp_default .pp_bottom, div.pp_default .pp_content_container .pp_left, div.pp_default .pp_content_container .pp_right{
background: none !important;
}

Still no luck -- a white border appears below the image. Has anyone had success at removing this white border?

Many thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions. I may download Firefox and Firebug and see if it helps alleviate any of the problems I've been having. I don't hope to be a coding expert by any means, but at least be able to customize a website to my particular needs.

Hi,

Have you tried Ismael's customization he suggested above?

Almost all developers today write their CSS code in Firebug. You work with notepad and a browser and as you are adding different styles you save them into notepad to keep them , refresh and keep going on until the design is complete. If you are looking for an automated program , there really is nothing magical but the closest thing that comes is Top Style 4.

For WordPress you would need to know php, jQuery, Ajax, dom, css3, html5 (and xhtml syntax ), sql, as well as functions and constants native to WordPress. Off-course it doesn't mean you have to be able to write anything, you just have to understand what is happening in each particular block or line of code, and to be able to find similar blocks online and swap them out. (even if that is oversimplifying it ). But most of what you see is php files, css files, and jQuery files.

There are tons of awesome free videos on YouTube. Don't bother using the youtube search, instead search through google and put constraints of videos at least 45 minutes long, and search for 'introduction to wordpress development', 'understanding wordpress' or 'wordpress theme customization' 'under the hood of wordpress'. there are some excellent instructional videos by people who can explain what to do in a more interesting and clear way than I ever could.

But open up a php file , when you run into something you don't know, ask the thousands of developers on http://stackexchange.com/ for free, or look it up in http://php.net or http://codex.wordpress.org/ . That's how everybody learns it one step at a time (hate to use that cliche but its true)

Thanks,

Nick

I've been using Google Chrome's built-in functionality, though it only goes so far in being useful to me as I need to brush up on my CSS. I know the changes I'm asking are quite a bit more complex than simple styling questions. ;]

With this theme in particular, what coding languages would you suggest I look into to get a better grasp of what exactly is happening behind the scenes?

Hi,

For making customization to your theme's CSS, we recommend that you install and get to know Firebug ( http://getfirebug.com/css ) and Google Chrome developer tools ( https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/overview ) browser add-on. Firebug is a free web development tool that integrates into Firefox and Chrome browsers and assists in monitoring, debugging and editing of any website's CSS, HTML, DOM, and JavaScript files.

Once installed, this easy to follow video will show you the basics of Firebug – http://vimeo.com/20917974 and get you on your way to customizing your theme like a real pro. It's 5 minutes long, and by the end you will know how to style anything!

Thanks,

Hi merhardj,

Kindly add this code in your Quick CSS or custom.css:

.widget .seperator.extralight-border {
display: none;
}

This code removes the extralight-border on the sidebar widget.

Also, add this code in your Quick CSS or custom.css, to remove the line below each list item in the widget:

.widget li, .widget a {
border: 0;
}

or

.widget li, .widget a {
border: 0 !important;
}

The other problem, I'm unable to test it with a mobile device. Let me tag the rest of the team.

Regards,

Hi there -

I've been messing with the CSS a bit to try and come up with an elegant solution for my website, and have been running into a few problems.

Namely, I can't find out how to remove the extralight-border for only the sidebar widget box. There are also weird dashes in front of the individual sidebar widget menu items that appear as boxes on mobile devices.

My other problem comes up when trying to style the .ajax-control above the portfolio. I want it to be aligned left with the element above it (the two columns), but given the dynamic nature of the theme, it looks weird on mobile devices and when the resolution changes. I was also curious if it were possible to change the order of the buttons (so the X appears first, sort of like OSX)

Any suggestions would be a great help.
