Hi,

Right now if you use the bottom caption, I wrote some css to quickly change it to the right caption since you said its a timely manner, so now all bottom captions will display on the right if you add this css code (temporarily)

#main .container.caption_container {
width: none;
}
#top .container_split .container {
padding-top: initial;
}
.caption_bottom .slideshow_caption .slideshow_inner_caption .slideshow_align_caption {
padding: 200px;
margin-left: -250px;
}
#top .caption_supersize .slideshow_caption {
padding-left: 250px;
}

Thanks,

We have a slider on the home page with a right sidebar. Most of the time, the captions do not show up at all. The only one that does is the bottom with or without frame. Is this by design or something that can be fixed?

Hi!

Afaik Eunoia supports caption - just add one (or more images) to the slideshow, then click on the "Show" link next to the images/slides and set a caption headline/text for each slide.

Hi,

I moved this issue to Flashlight form. :)

The current version of Flashlight is 2.21 while you are using 1.62 which is not compatible with WooCommerce above 2.0 (you are using 2.07). Please log into themeforest.net using the account you've purchased the theme under and download the latest update. Please be aware that the update will overwrite every single theme file including custom.css , so make sure that you create a backup of your installation first.

The best way to upgrade the theme would be via ftp - renaming your current them folder on your server and then uploading the newest version of the theme. If you have made customization to your templates, but are no longer sure exactly where, I've made a comprehensive video outlining the easiest way to solve that issue. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8hqGBMSfHtKRkJlN0pyNVNDSkk/edit?usp=sharing

========After you update the theme the problems with the missing css for the box, as well as other problems below will go away

When I click that link you posted, this is what I see. http://www.clipular.com/c?5013067=AqAruKqcbqtbXEYPnZ6VT6blVxo&f=.png

It took me a while to figure out to click the home icon in bottom right to get the actual page. You need to change a setting that forces the load of the gallery first (unless this was the type of experience you are looking to provide for customers).

Thanks,

Nick

Hi RuthHayward,

1) No, that isn't possible without a good bit of theme customization.

2) You can add this link in the Text tab to make a link to hide the content:

<a class="hide_content no_scroll" href="#hide-content">hide sidebar & content</a>

3) Add your text to the Description field for the image in the wordpress Media section. You can also add that content when you add the image to the slideshow area but the wordpress Media section is where you can always go back and add that data to images.

4) Try disabling all other active plugins besides WooCommerce. This has almost always been caused another plugin conflicting with WooCommerce 2.0 and Flashlight 2.2.1

Regards,

Hi could you please help with the following.
1 - for my single product pages I am using the Instant Background Gallery initially when the product is selected. is there a way for the captions to show with each image as the slideshow automatically runs through the images? therefore the caption and image show and fade at the same time. where can I change the look of the captions, font size etc?

2 - to see the product details from the Background Gallery the user has to select the home button. is there a way to add a tooltip or some short of instruction so they are clear there is more to see.

3 - when I use a gallery which opens up in prettyphoto I cannot get the caption part to work, only the title appears at the top and the photo number at the bottom. where can I look at this?

4 - I have recently done the theme and woocommerce update - since then on the single product page the description / additional info / reviews table has changed to links. how can I fix this?

Please see a link to my products page, this is still in production. please select the Hotel - Bronze & silver to see an example of my issues.

Thank you in advance

Sorry guys, this issue seems to be specific to my computer, as I've tested on other devices and it didn't happen.

Hi guys,

Sorry to bother you again, but suddenly (seriously, I didn't change anything after I applied the fix you provided me!) the featured caption text (not the H1, the smaller ones) is overflowing on its right side (for both left/right and right/left slide in options). I really don't know if it was trigged by a webkit browser update or whatever is the real reason, but I DO know that it looked good and suddenly looked like a mess, without any action from me. I've also noticed that it is happening with your choice's live demo too (http://www.kriesi.at/themes/choices/), so probably it's something deeper than my personal config.

Is there any fix for that?

Thank you, once again!

Hi,

I think the one_third column is too small for the button and the caption. I suggest you remove it or hide it using css.

.home .one_third .slideshow_align_caption {
display: none !important;
}

Hi,
One last question: my captions are flying out of the image when it rescales. Please have a look at http://www.wielinga.net and the the 3rd image on top. Is there a simple solution? Make it not show the captions in the small appearance?

Thanks for your answer.

Regarding #2, If possible, I'd just like to bring the outer border of Caption Title and Caption text (on both sides) to be displayed a little bit more to the center of the screen (though not aligned in the center), In other words, I'd like to increase the distance between the edge of the slider and it's captions. I don't mind if eventually the captions surpass the middle of the screen to the opposite side, as long as it keep a "margin" from the slider's edge on the same side which the captions are placed.

Once again, thank you very much for your time and willing to help. Kriesi's framework is wonderful and I'm impressed with it's quality, ease of use, possibilities of customization as well the great support provided. You guys rock!

Hi angelomaldito,

It should be:

#top .caption_supersize.caption_right .slideshow_caption h1{
text-align: left;
}

#top .caption_supersize.caption_left .slideshow_caption h1{
text-align: right;
}

For #2, there isn't any padding for the layout. Which part are you looking to modify? The slideshow is a bit sensitive to layout adjustments because of the way it adapts for the various screen sizes but we'll see what can be done.

Regards,

1. Thank you for your prompt response Dude! It worked perfectly for the "Caption Text". Now, I just need to make the same to the "Caption Title". Would you please point me which code should I use for accomplishing that? Many thanks!

2. I've also another question: · How can I change the padding of the "Caption Title" and "Caption Text" in the Choices/Avia's Moving Slider? Thank you very much, once again!

You can try following css code - add it to css/custom.css or the quick css field:

#top .caption_supersize.caption_right .slideshow_caption .featured_caption{
text-align: left;
}

#top .caption_supersize.caption_left .slideshow_caption .featured_caption{
text-align: right;
}

Hi, I'm building this website: http://goo.gl/6Bg91 , and I'd like to change the alignment of the captions on Choices' "Moving Slider". What I want to do is to make the captions on the left side (Left/Right slide in) to align to the right and the captions on the right side (Right/Left slide in) to be align on the left side, i.e. I want the captions to be align to the side which is close to the center of the screen, How can I accomplish that? Many thanks and kind regards! Merry Xmas by the way! Angelo

In header.php.php replace following code:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php echo get_bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/css/custom.css" type="text/css" media="screen"/>

with:

<!--[if lt IE 9]>
.caption_framed .slideshow_caption .slideshow_inner_caption {
    background: #000 !important;
}
<![endif]-->

<link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php echo get_bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/css/custom.css" type="text/css" media="screen"/>

This should fix the caption issue. Unfortunately IE8 and older browsers do not support transparent caption backgrounds without images because rgba is a css3 attribute. And eg the opacity filter would affect the text too.

Hi Devin,
Thanks for your help!
The additional CSS you provided worked a treat, so the image is now appearing in the post.
The favicon and transitions we can live with, but the box behind the captions still isn't working, even after i've disabled the plugins. I can't seem to find what is wrong.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers,
Marty.

Hi Marty,

For #1, its probably a cache issue but as long as the icon is set, it will be picked up by the browser. Beyond that there isn't anything we can do.

#2 - This is a limitation of IE8. It doesn't support css3 transitions.

#3 - There is something interfering with the themes ability to detect the browser version the user has. Try disabling all active plugins and then view the source of the page. The html class should say the browser and its version number as a class which is how version specific css is added in. Right now its just spitting out a question mark in place of a browser version.

#4 - Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

.msie .avia-innerbox{ display: block;}

I've not seen the issue with #3 before but that will definitely cause issues with specific browser fixes. If it isn't a plugin issue, I'll have to check with Kriesi to see what the specific function is that spits out the browser version or just dig around in the framework myself for it.

Regards,

Hi all, coherence them working well in all other browsers, just a couple of minor issues in IE 8.

website: http://www.moo.com.au

1. favicon not appearing - default red star appears instead (affects whole site)

2. portfolio entry thumbnails are not changing from grey to colour on mouse hover (affects whole site)

3. grey box isn't appearing behind caption on images (e.g. http://www.moo.com.au/portfolio-item/branding-2/)

4. image not appearing in portfolio post (http://www.moo.com.au/portfolio-item/ipar-marketing-services/)

Above issues all appear correctly in safari and firefox.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Cheers,
Marty.
