Hello,

I am currently using the Coalition theme and am running it as a basic theme. The site is fine for all resolutions except 800 x 600. When viewing at this resolution, the main text is cut off and there is no horizontal scroll bar at the bottom for viewers to be able to view the rest of the text. Approx. 160 px worth isn't visible. I am running on a Mac and have tried on Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsers, and none work. Any idea how I can make a horizontal scroll bar on the site? It isn't live yet, so unfortunately I can't send you the link to show you.

Thanks,
Sniddy

Hi simonanddylan,

You'll need to find a plugin to replace the contact form and that has support for that since the built in contact form does not.

I have a one page website which I'm working on. http://www.simonanddylandecorators.co.uk.
Is this possible in this theme?

Hey Bijuvi,

For the Search bar value, you can change that in the theme files, in the file searchform.php. The value="search site" is all you need to change and then save the file back on your server.

The only "top" text that doesn't have a translate prefix on it is is the shortcode one. You can change it in includes>admin>register-shortcodes.php. Search for:

if($top == 'top') $output .= '<a href="#top" class="scrollTop">top</a>';

which is inside the avia_sc_hr function. Just change the top text inside the link. For example:

if($top == 'top') $output .= '<a href="#top" class="scrollTop">New Top Text</a>';

The sidebar.php has the sidebar "scroll to top" button text, but it has the translate signifier before it, so you should be able to translate it with the po file.

2) Try adding the following CSS to your Quick CSS (located under the Styling Tab in the theme options) or the custom.css file in the css folder of your theme files:

#top .section {
padding-top: 10px;
}

3) You can try adding multiple portfolio elements but other than that I don't believe there is any way to add more or different types of portolio sections/items.

If you are looking for more in depth gallery management, you can try something like NextGen gallery and then insert multiple galleries into a post/page.

Regards,

I have e few issues to sort out. Link: http://www.eiger.bimilimbifark.com/

1- I cannot translate some parts of the theme with po file. They do not exist. most important of them are:
- Search Bar Value
- Scroll to top button text
Can you please direct me to them?

2- I need tho change the top margin of the sections, the space it leaves after scrolling with a menu click.

3- Is there any way to create a second portfolio class? As you can see I created the references and gallery sections with Portfolio custom type, but I have 4 galleries and now all of them are showing the band image on headlines. I want to remove them but this time Blog and the other portfolio section I use for references lose the styling too.

I'd be really grateful if you could direct me with these issues.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rebecca,

If you are using the one page portfolio layout, the menu background color is done via the Template Editor for the one page portfolio. Each section gets its navigation name and color from the element called "Page Section". You just expand it and set the color.

For the non one page layout, you would need to inspect each menu item using something like Firebug for Firefox or Chrome/Safari's inspect tool and get the menu id and do something like this:

#top #menu-item-4321 a:hover {
background-color: blue;
}

Hi there,

I've combed the forum and tried everything, but I can't figure out how to get multi-coloured backgrounds for the menu items. I saw something in the forum that looked like it might get me there:

.main_menu #menu-item-1220 a {
background-color: #f1a20a;
}

But I don't know how to find menu item numbers for my individual menu items. What do I have to do to get more colours into the men?

My site is here: nowincolour.ca

Hi Matthieu,

Unfortunately the portfolio doesn't have coding/styles to support a 5 column portfolio.

It might be possible to include your categories into different lightbox groups but I'm really not sure how it could easily be done without quite a bit of modification to the portfolio coding. Each portfolio item would need to add a category grouping to its relative attribute instead of the single category like its doing now. Then again, I'm not sure that would work when dealing with multiple images on the same portfolio item.

If you aren't comfortable digging into the theme files and giving it a few hours of testing I would recommend looking into a freelance web developer.

Hi,
I'm trying to use WPML with Coalition and hit some problems.
The translation does work pretty well, except in one case: the external Blog.

Ehere is an example what I get.
http://www.schneideranwaelte.de/en/

as you may notice, the "about Us" section is not translated correctly. I assume that this might be because the page is set in the "Theme Options --> external blog" to that special site.

Thanks in advance!
I tried following the steps from here: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/flashlight-wpml-widgets-in-translated-pages#post-56645
But that did not work out.

Versions:
Coalition 1.3.1
WPML: 2.4.3
Wordpress:3.3.1
(sadly updating is not an option right now.)

Hi

I am trying to add a simple Paypal selling functionality to my Coalition site (in the one page format). The plugin that I installed to do this (Easy PayPal) completely destroyed the formatting of my site. Any ideas for a plugin that works well with Coalition in one page mode, or suggestions for a workaround please?

Many thanks for any advice or suggestions!

Where can I change the code that makes the logo link return you to the home page? I basically just want to have the logo in Coalition just be a stagnant image with no link.

Hi,

So you want the thumbnail images on your home page to be bigger and not be to the left of the summary? Right now I am seeing your images on your home page to be below the title and summary. To re-size the thumbnails, please open your functions.php file, and around line 20 there are a number of preset image sizes:

$avia_config['imgSize']['blog_small'] = array('width'=>210, 'height'=>150); // small preview pic for blog

Try 500 width and 200 height. Just remember that you will need to regenerate the thumbnails after each modification or upload new ones to test their sizes.

Please let us know how it went,

Thanks,

Nick
