Hello. I need my 3 column portfolio to match a grid system in the same way as flex columns on normal page (vertical spacing between columns) . Is it possible?
Look at this page build by Template Builder: http://www.landeco.cz/wordpress/
At the top there is a 3-column portfolio and bellow that is a 3-column page content. And it's not matching.
I already made a change to loop-portfolio.php and removed class "no_margin". But it helped only with the gap between fist and second column.
Thanks for a help.

Hi--

Thanks for your help. The CSS for resizing the column on mobile was just what I needed and worked great.

On the other issue, I wanted to resize the heading, the words "Product Description", and not the
text below it. If you can tell me what to modify I'd appreciate it--

Thanks--

Hi Rolfe,

I'm not able to get the same result either (Chrome on Windows 7). There are some empty tags at the end of your page so it may be plugin related. You can try disabling all active plugins and see if that fixes the issue but its a bit hard to fix without being able to see it live and inspect the code.

Regards,

Hi folks,
I am having the same problem with Google Chrome, it seems to be fine in safari and firefox and on ipad. The sidebars are not showing correctly for my newscast theme. When I have two sidebars chosen the second shows under the posts area. When I have one column it puts the sidebar content under the blog posts!
It seems to be a CSS problem but any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I have tried to problem solve myself but with no luck!!!
Thanks Rolfe http://landscapes.ws

Hi,

Yeh it's a bit difficult to hit the description since nothing around it has a class or an id. The CSS below will hit it though but it will also hit on all product pages the other two blocks of text on the page.. one starting with 'Stretched Canvas' and another starting with 'Archival Matte Paper'. If that is acceptable, take a look and add this code to /css/custom.css or Quick CSS located in Replete > Theme Options > Styling ... text area on the bottom of the page

#top.single-product div p {
font-size: .9em !important;
}

==================

For the resizing, please add this css

@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) and (min-width: 480px){
#top.single-product .one_half {
width: 386px !important; /*was 418px;*/
}}

@media only screen and (max-width: 479px){
#top.single-product div.product {
width: 356px !important;
}
#top.single-product .container {
width: 358px !important;
}
#top.single-product .one_half {
width: 328px !important;
}}

Thanks,

Thanks for the great template ("Replete") and support -- the forums have answered nearly all my questions so far.

I've hit a snag on two small items on the product page I'm setting up here: http://www.dazzlezazz.com/wp/product/a-pillow-of-winds-test/

1) When I reduce the screen size to check for mobile screen compatibility, the two columns in Product Description are cutting off the text on the right-hand side. (I increased the body font-size to 14px -- but that does't seem like it should make the text get clipped.)

2) I'd like to reduce the font size of the "Product Description" heading, but I haven't been able to find the right place to do so.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi,

I have downloaded the latest CORONA files to go sure ... but the loop-portfolio-single.php file seems to show really more than 1 column, as far as I understand with my poor PHP:

Around line 36:

<?php
echo "
";
echo "
".get_the_title()."
";
echo '';
echo get_the_term_list( get_the_ID(), 'portfolio_entries', ''.__('Categories','avia_framework').': ', '/','');
echo "".get_the_time('d M Y')."";
echo '';
echo "
";
echo "
";
//display the actual post content
the_content(__('Read more →','avia_framework'));
echo "
";
?>

Is this the reason, why my single portfolio page shows the content/text not over the whole width of the page?

What can I do to have the single portfolio item like the demo here:
http://www.kriesi.at/themes/corona/portfolio-item/asdf/

Thanks.

Hi graim,

You can use css to style them differently. Then add the css to your custom.css file (in the css folder of the theme files) or Quick CSS field in the Styling tab of the theme options.

There is a video link posted here on using Firebug for Firefox to modify and customize theme styles that will help: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/fyi-firebug-tutorial-for-wordpress-users

So I've got my homepage set up relatively close to the way I want it. One thing I'm struggling with is applying different styles to different pieces of the homepage. I've got a two column content chunk that is pulling in most recent posts on the left and most recent portfolio items on the right (I didn't use portfolio intentionally, just thought the styling classes might be different).

I'd like to be able to make the right hand column items a different style than the left column items (adjust text size, color, perhaps the content pieces that are displayed).

Can anyone give me any feedback on how to adjust these things?

You can view a test page here:

http://coresitedev.coresite.com/cab/

Thanks!

Hey graim,

Glad you were able to get it working! The shortcodes are pretty powerful so that should definitely work :)

Let us know if you have any other questions or issues.

I think I figured out how to do it using the shortcode editor:

[two_third first]
Latest Updates

[widget widget_name="avia_newsbox" widget_class_name="newsbox" title="Recent Updates" count="3" cat="News & Events" excerpt="display title and excerpt"][/two_third]

[one_third]
Materials

[widget widget_name="avia_newsbox" widget_class_name="newsbox" title="Sidebar" count="10" cat="Uncategorized" excerpt="display title"][/one_third]

Hi,

I'm pretty new to WP, but not new to CMS platforms. Basically I've set up a custom homepage template that uses the "column" element and pulls in content based on categories. What I would like to do is insert a static
or header element above the first content piece that is being pulled in that says something like "Latest Updates" but I don't want to use the header element because it won't repsect the columns. I need a header above each column.

Thoughts?

Hi,

On Theme Options > Footer > Select 3 Columns. Then place something like this on your custom.css

#footer .one_third:last-child {
width: 50% !important;
}

#footer .one_third.first, #footer .one_third:nth-child(2) {
width: 23% !important;
}

Regards,

Hi,

I would like to have my footer widgets in that way (2 small columns - like if I set the theme options to "4 columns" -, but now 1 wider column at the right of them):

How is this possible?

The footer.php doesn't say much too me:

<?php
//create the footer columns by iterating
$columns = avia_get_option('footer_columns');
$firstCol = 'first';
switch($columns)
{
case 1: $class = ''; break;
case 2: $class = 'one_half'; break;
case 3: $class = 'one_third'; break;
case 4: $class = 'one_fourth'; break;
case 5: $class = 'one_fifth'; break;
}
//display the footer widget that was defined at appearenace->widgets in the wordpress backend
//if no widget is defined display a dummy widget, located at the bottom of includes/register-widget-area.php
for ($i = 1; $i <= $columns; $i++)
{
echo "
";
if (function_exists('dynamic_sidebar') && dynamic_sidebar('Footer - column'.$i) ) : else : avia_dummy_widget($i); endif;
echo "
";
$firstCol = "";
}
?>

The drag&drop functionality in Wordpress' widget area should be maintained.

Thanks a lot.
