Just the way the theme attempts to pull the data and display portfolio groups when rendering pages. It isn't always consistent and I though it had been fixed in version 1.9 or 2.0 but I always check anyway since it seems to still happen from time to time depending on the installation.

Thanks for the input. All suggestions were covered already. Except the portfolio one. I had 4 default portfolios built but only 2 assigned to pages. After deleting the extra 2 the contact form showed back up. Thanks a ton.

Out of curiosity, why would the portfolio area affect the contact form area. Simply trying to learn something for the future?

Hi allegrabillings,

First, check to make sure you are using the most recent version of the theme files available from your downloads on Themeforest. You can just re-download the theme and check the version against your own.

Then, go into your theme settings>Portfolio and make sure that for each set of portfolio options you have there that a page is selected for the portfolio to appear on.

If any have no page selected you need to delete that set of options by hitting the red X on the bottom right and then Save all changes.

If you deleted the contact page previously, you may need to also go into your pages Trash and fully delete it from your wordpress install. Then go to the Angular settings and re-assign the contact page using the dropdown to the page you want it to appear on.

Regards,

I have infact changed my permalink structure. The site is still in set up without really any content. I used a custom permalik structure, and then changed it to just post name. But the contact form still worked before and after this, that is until I tried to edit it.

As of now in my contact page is set to no parent and default template, and my angular them options contact page is set to contact. It isn't a cacheing issue, that has been addressed.

Any ideas. This is driving me nuts

Hi duttonstuart,

The form uses the default wp mail function, so you can test another plugin like Contact Form 7 and see if that works. You may also need to use a domain hosted email address if your server has spam protection for sending out emails from an address not based on the domain.

It goes green when I post a contact page email but then just dissapears. do I need to set anything else in the theme or in admin to get this working?

Hey Guys, I tried to add some fields to the contact form, and it made my form completely disapear. I get this message

Nothing Found
Sorry, no posts matched your criteria

I didn't change the email section. I then deleted the contact page altogether and recreated it from scratch and still nothing. Any suggestions?

The site has been moved to the domain and the form still isnt working. (www.barrysbirthdaybash.com) The web address does not match the email address set in the form. it is a work site on our own servers, so is there something I can tell our IT guys to look for? my tech knowledge only goes so far. The form if you try it, just blanks out after you click send. nothing is displayed and no auto response is received.

Hi kerin01,

The mail funciton is just using the default wordpress mail function which you can test by using any contact form plugin and setting it up with the same email.

A lot of hosts these days also block email being sent out if it isn't originating from the domain (@yourdomain.com) to prevent spam as well as generally not allowing php to send mail without a server setting. So it would be a worth a quick check with your host to make sure the normal php mail function as well as wordpress mail functions are allowed.

Regards,

Hi,
no, there's no real email template. The code can be found in wp-content\themes\enfold\framework\php\class-form-generator.php and actually the mail content is just one line:

$message = nl2br($this->form_params['autoresponder'])."<br/><br/><br/><strong>".__('Your Message:','avia_framework')." </strong><br/><br/>".$message;

There's not much to style :)

Hi,

Did you try to use the plugin I showed? Because it will give you a message that the mail is not working, that you can take a screen grab of, and show it to your host. Some support teams are not as rabid as us, so just keep pestering them politely and upbeat to just test it, because sometimes things enabled by default can be disabled during a bad reboot, and if they can just take a quick peek to see if it really is on.

Thanks,

Hi Matt,

1) Looks like a bug with the css. I'll report the issue to Kriesi as I don't think it has been reported yet.

2) I'll add this one to the feature requests for the next round of theme updates (no guarantee one or the other).

Regards,

Devin

Thanks, I'll give that a shot in a day or two, but for now here's the host we are using to host the website.

You can try to use the smtp plugin with Contact Form 7. Someone wrote a tutorial/how-to for godaddy: http://angstrey.com/index.php/2009/04/22/how-to-send-e-mail-with-wordpress-from-godaddy-windows-hosting/ and http://angstrey.com/index.php/2009/07/20/contact-form-7s-failed-to-send-your-message-error/

Where do you host your website?
