WordPress best practices tell us that before creating extra database tables we should always use the wp_options table :)</p> <p>And believe me, adding 10, 20 or even 30 entries is a really really small amount :) If you ever happen to work with ecommerce plugins, translation plugins mailing lists etc you will notice that these might add hundreds of entries.
