Hi Julianfalgons,

Aside from selecting a category, no you can't specify which products appear individually.

For the order, using at least version 1.7 of Propulsion you can change the order inside the element in the Template Builder. If you don't see that option, remove the element and re-add it (there was a theme update to add this feature so the element has to be re-added).

Regards,

Hello!

I wanted to know if there was a way on a dynamic entry page to select which products show up in the element area "products."
I tried editing the entry dates but this did not change the order in which the products appeared on the homepage.

The website is http://www.julianfalgons.com/CollegePrepGenius/

Thanks!

Hi edurramos,

There hasn't been anything like that reported with 3.5 as far as I know. In my live installation I have not run in to any troubles either.

Regards,

Hello,
I have a similar situation here. Only works for home page, but not for other pages, even if they are created the same way.
Should be a WP 3.5 incompatibilty?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure whats happening but maybe I can spot something from the back end. If you can create a temporary admin account and send me the details I'll log in and take a look.

You can send the information to my email at DevinVinson (at) gmail.com. Make sure to include a link to this topic so that my spam filter doesn't grab it :)

Yes, I have the dynamic template saved correctly and the template noted on the page.
I even pointed that page to the home template which works just fine on the Home page but it had the same effect. No body.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for your help.

Hi nkearney,

I'm not seeing any content loaded into the page. Double check that on the listings page you have the correct Dynamic template selected and that the dynamic template has been saved with at least a few elements filled out within it.

Love the theme thanks!
I have added a dynamic theme as my homepage and it works great. http://www.kearneyrealty.com
But I just tried to add a new page using the dynamic template builder and the output does not show correctly. http://www.kearneyrealty.com/lisitngs/ In fact the footer and the header borders are overlapping and the body is not showing up at all. Any ideas? So far I have added a text area and one "column" area pointing to some single pages.
Thanks for your help.

Good luck with it! Always interesting to see the results of modifying some of the core functions to get additional functionality with the themes :)

That definitely points me in the right direction, Dude. I'll work on a development server and see if I can get this to work (after 'breaking' it a few times, of course! haha).

Again, I appreciate it!

Actually some custom work on your end is required here and I can't provide a working solution but the idea is to eg duplicate the blog element code in includes/helper-template-dynamic.php and to add a new element options field to includes/admin/register-admin-dynamic-options.php (based on the blog element) and then you need to the add the http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_post_meta function which overwrites the default category array.

Hey!

You could use a custom field to save the category id value: http://codex.wordpress.org/Custom_Fields

I have a blog with 20 categories for 20 cities. Each city has its own page that will have content (photo and video galleries) and post listings for its blog category. I created the first one dynamically in template builder, but it looks like I'd have to choose which category I'd like to appear in that template.

Does this mean I'd have to create 20 nearly identical dynamic templates? Or is there a way I can utilize WordPress code like this in the dynamic template builder?

<?php query_posts('cat=14'); ?>

You can see the very barebones site at http://yourhotspots.com/test/ The city pages are under Episode Guides.

Thanks!
Heather
