Afaik since WP 3.4 WordPress itself requires up to 28M and probably 3.5 will require even more. The WP devs decided to increase the min. requirement to 40M - see: http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/21646

To be honest it doesn't make much sense to try various configurations/setups because you'll hit this limit over and over again (eg if you want to upload larger images or audio/video files) and in a few weeks you won't be able to install WP3.5. If your current hoster can't provide more memory it's just a waste of money and I'd search for a new, more user friendly hoster.

Thanks for that quick reply.
My host allows a maximum of 32MB for PHP.
This amount was nearly exhausted after activating Dolly, BBpress, Broken-links and Google XML Sitemaps.
Installing Yoast SEO was impossible and rendered the error.
I removed BBPress and was able to install Yoast SEO.
Googled on BBPress and that seems to be quite a memory hog, takes 4MB straight away.
But that leaves 31MB to spend ! What's taking up so much ?
What are you using for the events part in the Incarantion theme ?

Probably you need to increase the allocated php memory. Have a look at this article: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

You can find the wp-config.php on your server (you can use a ftp tool like filezilla). The file can be found in the main web directory which also contains the wp-content, wp-admin, etc. folder. I'd set the memory limit to 128M by using following code:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');

Hello,

I bought the Incarantion template yesterday but when adding new plugins my Wordpress is giving me Fatal errors all over the place.
Is there something in the template that's asking a bit too much memory of the system ?

This is the error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1853353 bytes) in ..

Kind regards, Paul Bakker

Don't panic...

You're lucky. The index.php file was the only file which has been replaced in the main wordpress folder. Any other folder, file, etc. of your wordpress installation has the same name as a Display theme folder/file - so the only thing you've to do is to create a display folder in your root directory and afterwards you can drag'n'drop the theme files into it. You can open your Display.zip archive to see the directory and file structure - so you can discriminate between themefiles and wordpress files. After you filled the Display folder just copy it back to yout themes directory. Don't forget to upload index.php again!.

Hey,

Well, Im quite upset....Ive made a huge error while upgrading.

Instead of putting the display folder into the themes folder of my current wordpress install, Ive gone and put all the files inside the Display folder into the root of my wordpress install.

I was tired and not concentrating properly.

Is there anyway to fix this?¿ I didnt backup or anything (I know, everyone says you should..)

I can still access the backend of my wordpress, all my posts and pages, etc are there and it all works fine. But when I access the website via my browser I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /home2/elchevir/public_html/index.php on line 1

What I suppose has happened is that some of the files are named the same as the core wordpress files and therefore some of the wordpress install files have been overwritten by the display theme files.

As I can still access the backend of my wordpress and all works there Im hoping someone can help me fix this problem Ive gotten myself into!

Please!

thanks,

EDIT:

Ive downloaded the latest wordpress from their site and replaced my current index.php with the wordpress index.php file and it seems to work, my site is now accessible. But I dont know if any other files were replaced.

Also I now have all display files and folder in my root of my server......How can I fix this?¿

Jose.
