Hi,
FYI, I installed this basic plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/logo-slider/ and it works quite well. Just added the shortcode in a textbox, and set the logo slider width to 450px in order to avoid (some of the) problems as it's not responsive (even though doable through a custom css).
Too bad this plugin doesn't support greyscale/colour logo transition...
Adding my 2 cents to see this feature in Enfold...

Hi there,

Ive been hoping for something similar. The grid I suspect we all cant achieve easily is the 6+ columns by 2+ rows grid where you can rollover a grid box and the client logo's (in each box) would switch between two states (usually mono to a colour). The grid box might animate out slightly, dim or in some cases flip over but regardless of which there would be a link attached to go to a URL or clients work or a page within the site.

The above is what nearly all creative/portfolio developers supply out of the box and the only way ive been able to get close with Enfold is to create a basic image grid and disable the mouse click functionality (as a photo view would be pointless - it needs to be a link)

Its crude and far from ideal but for now I think its the best option.

Cheers
Andy

Hi MikehJPP,

It really depends on the final presentation you are looking for. A full width image slider will work but its still an image slider. You could even use a wordpress gallery grid if you want them to show up as a grid of images or any of the other image display options.

With how open ended the idea is, you really could do just about any option.

As my title suggests, I am displaying a group of retailers and their logos that sell our product line and wish to have it available for the user to see.

How would you recommend I use enfold to accomplish this task? A custome full width slider? I beleive there are "solutions" but I wanted to hear from the enfold developers (or those who have come across this rather routine display feature) and have found a great solution already before I begin "tinkering".

Thank you in advance, and thank you for your continued work on this theme.

chris, i allready tried that.
the thing is that i want to have the lightbox active in the portfolio section (when clicking on the small feature images).
but i want to disable it for the single portfolio pictures (the huge ones).
sadly the solution is not so simple ...

Hey,

on single portfolio pages it suffices to put "no link" to your uploaded featured image (below where you create your post: "Apply link to the image?"). The same goes for the smaller images on the pages with multiple entries.

Quick update... I was able to adjust the size of the thumbnails by adding the following to the Quick CSS area in the Abundance Styling options, overriding the settings in the style.css file:

.news-thumb{
margin-right:9px;
padding:3px;
float:left;
height:100px;
width:100px;
background: #f8f8f8;
margin-top: 4px;
}
.tweet-thumb img, .news-thumb img{
width:100px;
height:100px;
}

This is the original, in the styles.css file, which I left alone.

.news-thumb{
margin-right:9px;
padding:3px;
width:36px;
background: #f8f8f8;

Dude,

That solution didn't work for me, but it pointed me in the right direction. What I found was that your code wasn't working because the IF statement a few lines up, that assigns a value to $image, wasn't being met. It seems it is basically checking for a slideshow? And if it doesn't find one, then the $image is left blank, so your code is never output (as it only runs if $image has a value).

So, what I've doing, going back to the original code, is to find:

if( is_array($slides) && !empty( $slides[0]['slideshow_image'] ) )
{
$image = avia_image_by_id($slides[0]['slideshow_image'], 'widget', 'image');
}

and replace with

if( get_the_post_thumbnail ( get_the_ID() ) )
{
$image = get_the_post_thumbnail( get_the_ID(), 'shop_catalog' );
}

The result is: http://ongward.com/?s=earring

Which is better, except for a couple things. One, I'm not sure if this code is the correct way to do it? Let me know what you think. Secondly, the image size is too small. I would like it to appear larger, but haven't figured that out yet. It may be that a CSS style is forcing it to that size? I thought doing something like get_the_post_thumbnail(get_the_ID(), 'large') would change the size, but it doesn't. I'm also not sure what "shop_catalog" is being used for in the function call to get the thumbnail. It works just the same if I remove or replace it? Lastly, I don't like how the description appears below the thumbnail, I want it to appear under the title text, to the right of the thumbnail. This should be some simple CSS modifications... I think. Hopefully I don't have to arrange the order of the output in the loop_search file.

this post has an feature image and it's linking to a lightbox by default.
maybe it's just to simple.
i made you a few screenshots of an portfolio article.

https://rapidshare.com/files/3241201102/picture1.png;
https://rapidshare.com/files/666170726/picture2.png;
https://rapidshare.com/files/4162517378/picture3.png

picture 1 shows theportfolio item with an allready wrong resized image.
picture 2 show the lightbox version where you can see the right aspect ratio.
picture 3 shows you the feature image with the wrong resized image again (it's only cutted and not resized).

hope now you got the flavor of what i want to achieve.
best regards
thomas

Hey,

I'm not sure what you mean either, when uploading a new image you can select full size and then use it as featured image and the size shouldn't change at all, however the thumbnail will be 243x125. It works fine for me. Maybe you could provide screenshots?

How can I get the images that show on the main page and product pages

Example: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/abundance/product-category/photography/

to show up on the search results page?

Example:
http://www.kriesi.at/themes/abundance/?s=canon

I checked the search loop, and it's looking for a "preview" image, but I'm not sure what that is. I don't really want to put the image in the product content, I just want it to show the feature image like it is used elsewhere.

in the upload section from the "add feature image(s)" I just set it to "full size" before clicking "use image as feature image"!
it doesn't work though. the real picture height is 500px and the feature image height is 370px.
the feature image is still cutted.

It works correct for me. Maybe you did not select "Full Size" as thumbnail size?

yes i know. the thing is that the feature image of a portfolio item won't be resized anyway?
maybe there is a difference between a portfolio item and post and pages.

the portfolio section works fine and i can resize all the pictures with that cool plugin that you mentioned.
the thing is that whenever you click at the title the portfolio item is displayed like a post.
but the feature image is not resized. the format is okay (height = 370 px) but the 1000px picture as a feature image is just cutted off at the top and the bottom. so you won't see the whole picture.

Can you elaborate please? Basically the slider can display different sized preview thumbnails.
