I am using the Wordpress SEO by Yoast plugin. I have noticed when I use the layout editor this plugin dosen't pickup the content. As a result I have chosen to use the default editor. When I make a portfolio entry in order for a image to appear in a sortable gallery I have to set a featured image. The problem I'm having is that the feature image is being inserted into the top of the portfolio post. How do I remove the featured image? Your site is working properly, and the reason you aren't seeing Featured Image is because it is replaced by Featured Media (which is much more powerful and supports not only images but also other media such as video). I have customised the theme so I am reluctant to upload the entire new version of the theme, which I can do if nothing else works. The feature image is still working correctly but it is the meta box that is missing. I have found the add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' ); which is inside of a conditional statement. I have tried overriding it by add the add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' ); at1dream the end of the functions.php code but still the featured image does not show up. Many thanks for your help. You saved my life with the archive.php file! I added the plugin code and there is no error breaking the webpage, however the feature image doesn't show up on the archives page. I installed the 2nd plugin you listed (Taxonomy Images II), however the feature image for the category is not showing in the archives. I reckon the reason is that my theme is set to not display the feature image on the page/post. How can I set my theme to display the feature image on this particular category archives? I don't want the feature image to be display in other pages/posts. By the way, other thing that would solve my problem, is to set a page, to display a category archives below the content, if you know how to do this, I can avoid the step of displaying a feature image for a category. These plugins are not yet tested for compatibility with the theme however, these plugins might help you with what you want to achieve, just check your site after activating the plugin and after you have configured it properly, just to ensure it doesn't conflict with the theme. Just read through the documentation of those plugins and I'm sure you will surely succeed. You can still enter a featured image and it will be used in elements and they will show up in related entries under the post. We still have them in the blog section. I would assume I substitute something where ".single-post" is. I should know this but looking around I can not come up with it. I guessed ".blog-meta" but that was not it. ".post-entry" no good too. Also the quick CSS where do they go? I thought they would be in the custom.css but I don't see my attempts above there. Plus once we hand this over to the end user, they will have no idea what aspect ratio is or how to resize so the image works. For that reason I am thinking just do not have the feature image in the post, unless it is added manually. But we do want them on the home page, in a "columns" element attached to categories so the newest stories (posts) of different types are on the front page. I think I recall doing something like this to Newscast, or wanted to do this and never asked. Let me try that fix. By the way, your Quick CSS feature is great, I don't mind editing the source or custom.css, or making a child theme however, making changes possible in the theme options section was a great idea by your team. ... That did it simple fix! Surprised I could not find this when searching before I asked. I would think many would like this feature.
