Hi, i noticed that when looking at a single entry (or reply) in a topic a number #.... is shown in the upper right corner, that when clicked upon makes this string appear in the url: #post-yourpostnumberhere and linkts direcrtly to the post into the page.
Now, I would really like to get rid of that writing, i don't like that users can see posts being numbered.
I tried different css elements but had little success... how can i remove/don't display that counter? If it's possible by css, it would be the best option. any help would be appreciated, thanks a lot and best regards,

Lorenzo :)

I downgraded your bbpress plugin to version 2.1.3 and it works now. Version 2.3.3 is not compatible with Propulsion and we need to wait for a theme update (Kriesi will release an update for all bbpress themes).

Thanks Devin,

I m quite sure, it hasn t to do with this conflict of slug name. This would cause a 404 conflict or anything.
But this just looks poor as I ve written and doesn t work neither. So it would be great if you could put it for a further look.

I took a look at your site but I'm not sure whats causing the issues. I did see some conflicts with the slug name of your forum page and the settings for the plugins base urls but I wasn't able to get it working.

I'll tag this for the head of support as i'm not sure if this is related to the recent changes with bbpress or if its something else.

Thanks Devin for reply,

I know bbpress support isnt your key role. But I guess the issues have something to do with the theme. Is it right, that there is no appearance of bbpress, but with adding the widgets? Could it be, that I just haven't seen the forum theme yet? But where is it by default, so that I havent seen it yet? It doesnt appear on the forum page for me.

Hi TheGabriel,

Do you have the forums set up so that only logged in users can see them?

Our support is a bit limited to getting bbpress all set up but whenever I've activated it the whole thing is usually pretty straightforward.

As far as I know bbpress doesn't have a full width layout by default and I don't believe the theme has any templates for it either. I'd suggest just getting the forum to work at a basic level (showing and able to post and interact) before going forward with any modifications or customization.

A good resource for bbpress general questions is: http://codex.bbpress.org/

Hello guys`n girls!

I`m new at this forum. I like the engagement of the crowd here.

However, I have a problem with the appearance of the bbPress plugin on my page. When I activate the widgets on the forum page, It only shows a left sidebar with the topics, but no real content. Neither no proper graphics or how to participate at it for members. What`s wrong with it?
I tried many theme alterations to display it on a fullwidth page. I also downgraded to version 2.1 as described here on the forum. Nothing helped any so far. Now it looks like this: http://b-rille.de/foren/foren/how-to-live-up-a-forum/

Thanks for helping!

Hi proteinsuperm,

The template builder is unable to be used to hold pages that are created with plugins like bbpress or to have templates applied to them via the front end.

You'll need to modify the files themselves in order to change the layout.

Hey guys,

I faced the same problem with updating my forums to 2.2.2. on propulsion theme as well, and I found a fix on bbpress support forum that really worked for me. So I thought it`s a good idea to share it here as well. While Kriesi coming up with the proper fix in the theme update.

So if you forum disappears after update try to comment out lines 657 and 658 in /wp-content/plugins/bbpress/includes/core/theme-compat.php

should be these two:

if ( ! in_the_loop() || ! is_main_query() )
		return $content;

All credit goes to John James Jacoby who suggested it on bbpress forum :)
Hope it helps

Hey there, did this solution work? I am having the same problem. Please see my forum at http://www.proteinsupermarket.com/forum. I have also tried to create a temple page for this but its this doesn't seem to work either. My forum base is 'forum', I create a page with the url /forum and create a template in the template builder and then link this template page in the /forum page settings, but again, it doesn't seem to work.

Hi Devan,

I've added BBPress and was trying to get rid of the sidebar (was listing all pages, categories etc) but once I added in the BBPress widgets, it looks fine.

The thing I would like to change is the breadcrumbs underneath the title and the name of the poster is showing underneath the gravatar and I would like this to be next to it please.

Can you advise of the CSS I should be using?

Thanks, Siobhan

I have the BBpress plugin working fine in my Shoutbox theme. I had to toggle the settings-permalinks-post name to default and then back to post name. I used the shortcode
[bbp-forum-index]
to place the forums on my wordpress forums page. I used the default template with the side bar which makes the real estate available for BBpress somewhat small, but also leaves room for the login widget in the sidebar. As the forum was somewhat truncated from not normally fitting into the small space available in the Shoutbox theme default template (with a sidebar) I added the following css to the top of the bbpress.css

img {
    border: medium none;
    display: inline;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
}

.entry-content ul li {
    list-style-position: outside;
    list-style-type: disc;
    margin-left: 0px;
    padding: 2px 0;
}
.bbp-topic-freshness {
font-size: 11px; /* size of font for freshness */
}

This makes the default theme for bbpress play nice with the amount of space Shoutbox offers.

You can also add the following css which removes the Name of the poster on the forum page and makes things cleaner in my estimation.

.bbp-topic-meta {
	display:none;
}

Hi,

Please find forum.php and remove

<?php

				//get the sidebar
				get_sidebar();

				?>

Find this line of code

get_template_part( 'includes/loop', 'page' );

Change it to

get_template_part( 'includes/loop', 'forum' );

After that go to includes folder and duplicate loop-page.php. Rename the duplicated file to loop-forum.php. Edit it and find this code

<div class="<?php avia_layout_class('content'); ?> alpha units entry-content">

Replace it with

<div class="twelve alpha units entry-content">

Regards,
Ismael

i cannot find anywhere to change the layout properties for bbPress. It always shows a sidebar and this is terrible for a forums. It should be fullwidth, but I cannot find anywhere to change this setting. Even changing the default layout setting to fullwidth changes every page on the site except the forums. Please, this is absolutely necessary for my site to be proper and we can't go live without this. Thank you.
