@Norma
@Dude

think I found the bug that "by" is not translated.

in the file "format-standard.php" on line 83
replace the code

echo '<span class="blog-author minor-meta"> '.__('by','avia_framework');

with this code

echo '<span class="blog-author minor-meta"> '.__('by ','avia_framework');

the space after "by" was missing. It is in all other format-*.php files (gallery, link, quote)

Please put that in the next version so we do not have to fix it again. Cheers

Hey

My customer needs the online store by russian language. So, I have already offered him the Propulsion theme (which I haven't been using yet after purchasing, because I didn't find the hungarian translation of Woocommerce pluging, unlike of the Jigoshop - so, I have obliged to use the other wp-theme with jigoshop support for my previous project, instead of Propulsion theme). There are a few issues I need change for him in Propulsion theme (all of them concern of product' and woocommerce categories/tags pages), and I hope it will be possible to do this with so great support team here :).

So, I'm going to translate the theme to russian and, in case of success, I'm going to share the result in this topic.

In this case WPML will load the required language file if the users switches the language. Eg in your case it will load lt_LT.mo when you select "Lithuanian" from the language dropdown.

Thank you for your reply, but if this would be a solution, I would not ask you for a help. The thing is that I need same wordpress for six different languages. And I need 6 different buttons of SEND and so on. And I need English version of Wordpress to manage these six languages, since I dont know some of the languages that I will upload content.

I have uploaded both .po and .mo files to that folder.

Is it possible ?

You need to upload the po AND mo file (in your case lt_LT.po and lt_LT.mo) into the theme language folder (wp-content\themes\propulsion\lang\). Make sure that you're using the Lithuanian versioon of wordpress: http://mantas.malcius.lt/tag/wordpress/

Hello, I have a webpage, that is in Lithuanian language. I am using WordPress in English language. My page will have more languages later. To manage translations I am using WPML. I would like to translate some theme strings to specific languages. For example "Send" button text in contact form, and other strings.

I have created .po file lt-LT uploaded it in specific folder, but nothing changed.

Any help ? Is it possible ? hardcoding translations is not a solution, since I have multi language page. Thank you!

No, WPML is not required if you just want to translate Shoutbox into another language. You can translate the theme with po/mo files - the default files can be found in the wp-content/themes/shoutbox/lang/ folder. Open up default.po and translate it with Poedit: http://www.poedit.net/download.php
Save the result as fr_FR.po and fr_FR.mo and upload these files into the wp-content/themes/shoutbox/lang/ folder.

Hi hipisland,

I believe the recommended translation method is to use WPML though I'm not sure if there is already a set of French translation files available for Shoutbox or not.

@fotomaster - actually you need to translate wordpress, woocommerce and the theme - otherwise some parts of the frontend won't be translated correct. I assume you're already using the hungarian version of wordpress: http://hu.wordpress.org/ . In the next step you need to translate woocommerce. All langauge files are listed here: https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/tree/master/languages and I can't find a hu_HU.po/mo file - I guess you need to translate the plugin first (which will take some time because there're around 2000 text strings). At least you need to translate the default.po file which can be found in the flashlight/lang folder - this file translates the theme only.

Hello

I try to understand the logic of translation of theme. Once I used the Poedit and translated the .po file, but it looked as the translation the theme's wordpress functionality only. I expected to get the localized interface of theme - it means, all this phrases as "To track your order please enter your Order ID in the box below and press return. This was given to you on your receipt and in the confirmation email you should have received." must be translated. The best way for this, which I found before, is the translation section in the admin panel of theme, but usually it works only for sites with little interface (like photosites and so on). The other way is the pack for localization (language pack). For example, I have found many language extensions for OpenCart here http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension&path=2 . Do you know, where are some similar possibilities for woocommerce plugin? I have found for WP e-commerce the following: http://languages.getshopped.org/projects/wp-e-commerce

What I found else: http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/user-guide/localization/ But I'm afraid, it is for localization of woocommerce functionality inside of WP-admin panel only. The panel of woocommerce in English is ok for me, but the site section must be on Hungarian in my case... What is the best way for localization in this case? Please, explain me a little...

ah en fait si mais ils sont mal nommés dans le dossier "lang" !
il faut donc renommer "french.mo" en "fr_FR.mo" et "french.mo" en "fr_FR.mo"
par contre ils ne traduisent pas les pages d'options de l'administration :(

Hi,
Open up default.po with poedit: http://www.poedit.net/download.php and translate all strings. Then save the file as fr_FR.mo and fr_FR.po and insert/upload it into the propulsion/lang folder. Afterwards all theme related front-end tex should be translated properly.

Thanks dude,

I have no problem getting that file fully translated and sharing it here, but i still don't get it, and i would need this to work to do it.

I'm trying to learn how to build a multilingual/multisite install with WP using available online info, but the info here and the info elsewhere doesn't seem to fit.

So you're saying i should just translate that "default.po/mo" file and re-upload that same "default.po/mo" file into the folder ../themes/propulsion/lang/ ? Under the same name? Or fr_FR?

I translated "this entry has" from the default file, i saved both files (mo/po), uploaded them in /propulsion/lang/, and i still see "this entry has", and not my translated text. There's definitely something i am missing here.

Whit this method, how and where do i set the site language? Usually from Settings / General, but without using the WP language directory, i don't see the language option.

Does multisite / multilingual work while using a child theme? I know it works fine with one site, but multilingual i am not sure

Thanks

We don't offer a french version yet (we can just provide files other users sent us). You need to translate the default po/mo file by yourself. I'd appreciate if you can provide your translated files afterwards because this will help other users who want to use a "french version".
