You can use the default image/fade slideshow (demo: http://www.kriesi.at/demos/display/light/index_no3d.html ). If you use the html version just use index_no3d.html instead of index.html for your homepage (you can rename the file to index.html if you want to). If you're using the wordpress version go to Display Options > Frontpage Slider and select "Use jQuery Fading Slider". Then use the image manager below ("Add new menu item" button) to add images to your slideshow.

My clients are worried that people will not be able to see the slideshow 100% of the time because it requires flash.

Is there a way to have photos appear instead of the Frontpage Slider Slideshow?

Or, am I wrong? Will everyone be able to see it regardless of flash?

Hi kidcurryy,

Your image should be saved with a transparent background in photoshop. Then Save for web and make sure that you see the checkered transparent background and not a white one.

You could also use a .gif with a transparent background if you are more familiar with using that file format.

I don't know the exact transition setting off hand but I believe its just one of the options available for the cuber (flash) format.

I have uploaded a custom logo as seen here biotechcmqr.com

However, the background of the logo is not matching the background of the page. I have tried using the psd file of the deafult "display" logo but the colors still dont match. I have also tried uploading the logo with no background but it just turns into a white background when I upload it. I am not sure why it isn't matching. Please help me fix this.

Also, what settings do I use on the front page slider to mimic the default transitions seen on your DEMO? I am using the mainpage slider tool.

Thanks,

Hi,

Blind people use a device which reads the title tags of href and then talks to the blind person and tells them what is going on. Without the title tag, the device wont be able to tell the blind person what the image is supposed to be, and the blind person will remain.. well.. blind in a sense that the developer made them blind by not including that tag. So to make sure that developers use this tag, Google put a penalty for not using it.

Thanks,

Hi,

I have tried using a few hacks listed on forums on how to remove title attributes and nothing seems to work. I've tried this a long time before and until now I can't get it to work. Good luck on finding a snippet that will actually remove the title of images on mouse over. What is the problem with the title anyway? Try to rename an image to something meaningful or relative before uploading them.

Regards,

Hi,

Do you mean the html title field within an href link? The one that says Slider1 on your website? Please go to media in the backend, and find the image, and you will see it has a title tag that says Slider1 instead of something useful for google to know where the link is going as well as help the blind handicapped use the internet. By removing it, you will know the wrath of Google who demand title tags. I would just put something a bit more useful there but keep it.

Thanks,

Ah, I knew I was being dense, lol. That worked perfectly. Is there a reason to load demo files under theme options, now that I'm almost set? (except for the forum und woocommerce part). I was under the impression that loading the demo content would wreck my changes and revert me back to how the theme is in the demo?

In wordpress on the top of the page on the right hand side it says viewing options (the site is German so it's my rough translation). All options therein are checked on.

There is no Slide Show Options to be found anywhere on the wordpress start page or within any of the options. Thanks for trying to help. I appreciate that.

I see Slideshow Options underneath the text for writing an article. There Adaptavia Slider is selected. I added the image I used in my article to it and filled some of the extras out, too. Autorotation is set to no. Time is set to 5 seconds and slideshow size is adjustable Slider. I published it as an article in the news category. My frontpage is set to Welcome page and the slider on the frontpage seems to be trying to use the demo content, without it being available. I can see some text, but no images. I have no idea where that text is from and where the slider pulls from.

Sry if I'm being a bit dense.

I cannot find where to set anything for it. As of right now, it's empty and doesn't seem to pull the main photo from my only article. There is that color wheel in the demo and it seems like you can put text in the slider as well as images and adjust the color of the text with the slider. The text says this can be adjusted from the backend. I believe you can do more cool stuff with it, but I haven't been able to find where those settings may be.

It's probably very simple, since it doesn't seem to be a topic in the helpfiles either. So where can one set the frontpage slider options?

Hey,
I uploaded my config.xml in case you need it for testing: http://www.mediafire.com/?yn6s5dqdlgqi488

Which menu manager do you mean? The jquery slider doesn't influence the menu manager but only uses the image manager under Display Options > Frontpage Slider

I've worked with this theme a lot but for some reason the frontpage slider isn't showing up. I have the correct specs. Am I doing something wrong?

I can email any backend info that you need.

Appreciate your help.
