So go to the add images pop up and just add in those images you want from the media library. Then you should see the gallery tab appear in that popup the next time you go to enter in an image. Now you can remove all the images you added in from the visual editor and instead just put in the gallery.</p> <p>To add more images you just add them into the visual editor and then remove them. Once they have been attached to a post/page they will be auto included in the gallery.</p> <p>The reason NextGen is so popular is because the built in media editor is pretty wonky at this point. I had a look at the video, and it explains the basics, as well as a couple of limitations. What none of the tutorials seem to say is how to import all the images into a gallery if they are already in the Media Library (as was the case for me), all the tutorials show multiple import from the desktop (which is simple).</p> <p>The tutorial also shows the limitation, that once created it is difficult if not impossible, to add a couple of extra images. So back to square one - how to do a multiple import of images already in your Media Library?</p> <p>Thanks for all your help.
