Hi andonov22,

You should be able to get a refund from WPML though I can't say for sure as we aren't directly related.

While Ismael did mention WPML, he did not instruct you to purchase it and instead said that using the German version of wordpress would probably be enough.

Regards,

If you just want to translate the theme into German (without a language switcher which allows the user to view your website in English or German, etc.) you don't need to buy any additional plugins at all. I'd recommend to download & install version 1.5 of the theme (latest version from themeforest - we released the update yesterday) which includes the German translation files. You must install & use the German version of WordPress: http://wpde.org/download/ otherwise our theme won't load the German translation files.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay.

Please refer to this link on how to use WPML.

http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/callout-translation-wpml

This is Nick's instruction.

WPML is not the type of plugin that you activate and it takes care of everything else. You need to first set it up and configure it. Also you are aware that there are multiple versions of the plugin (cms & blog) with completely different functionality? Which version are you currently using? Is your site being setup as a blog or a cms?

Please refer to the http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/

1) After you activate the plugin, you click the configure link right under its name in the Plugin section of the backend. You select the current language, the languages which you wish to translate into, then you select the language switcher options that suits your website, and click Finish.

2) Now on top of the backend you see the language dropdown box showing the root language of the site - English lets say, and I selected Spanish as the translation( for this example). You now have two completely different backends in your site which are *independent of one another*, an English and a Spanish. So you first create a home page, or a portfolio page,or any page in English backend and save it. Then you use the language dropdown box on top in the backend to switch to the Spanish version of the backend , and *re-create* or import etc.. the Spanish versions of your English pages. You will notice in the backend the menu link 'Flagship' will become 'Flagship EN' and will change to 'Flagship ES' when you use the dropdown to enter the various versions.

So, to answer your question. , If you have an English (root) template which you applied to a page you designated as your homepage. you would switch to Spanish (or your language choice) . But you would *NOT* see those templates nor the pages you just made because those are in the 'English backend'. You would have to recreate them all over in the Spanish version. Then create a new Spanish page, apply the Spanish homepage template to it, and link it to the English home page via the dropdown in the Add Page or Add Post pages.

If you've done all the above, and linked the translated version to the root version of the page and still are not seeing anything, please try re-installing the plugin and do speak to the WPML support staff and I am certain between the two support teams we will get you running smoothly.

Let me tag the rest of the support team.

Regards,
Ismael

I see what you mean. You could try translating those manually though they should be able to be translated automatically. Either way, the actual text for them is in your theme files config-woocommerce>config.php.

Search for:

function avia_shop_nav($args)

Within this function are all the navigation items that are there by default.

Okay, I have it!
But there is even an issue...I can add "My Account / Cart / Checkout" to the sub menu, but if I log out, there is still "My Account", instead of Register and Log In. What can I do to have Register and Log In when I`m logged out and My Account, when I am logged in. That is also what is default...

If you mean the top left menu which in english is "Log in | Cart | Checkout" then you can change that via wordpress in the Appearance>Menus manager.

Just create a new menu with the titles and options you want and then use the Theme Locations meta box to assign this menu to the "Propulsion Sub Menu" using the dropdown.

Hi,

I have a WP multisite installation and database from last year, my blog with NEWSCAST is in German (backend and frontend) and in my admin settings is utf-8 set.

So far so good - each post shows the correct "umlauts" in German: ä, ö, ü.

Now I have searched my fresh new NEWSCAST site with Google this way http://tinyurl.com/7c5dnzx, and see this:

http://i50.tinypic.com/kba7td.jpg

It must be: »KUNSTBLOG für Foto...«

I have no SEO plugin active, that could have changed anything!

The header.php of NEWSCAST is in my case this:

<?php if( is_404( )) { header("Location: /",TRUE,301); } ?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" <?php language_attributes(); ?>>
<?php global $k_option, $query_string; $k_option['custom']['real_query'] = $query_string; ?>
<head profile="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11">
<!-- basic meta tags -->
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="<?php bloginfo('html_type'); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo('charset'); ?>" />
<meta name="language" content="de">

Why are these "umlauts" not correct at Google?
What is wrong in the header.php?

Thanks.

Hi,
1) I checked the source code and network traffic and only one image is loaded. I think everything displays correct but the navigation arrows of the lightbox are a bit irritating. Another indicator that the slideshow just opens one image is that the slideshow navigation (stop/pause button with image counter) isn't displayed because the lightbox doesn't show it for single images which are not part of a gallery.

2) As far as I know it's not possible to hide product categories from the shop page with woocommerce. You can add a category thumbnail though (because of styling reasons) or you can try to hide the category with following css code (add it to css/custom.css):

.product.sub-category{
display: none;
}

3) Inpsyde, a german wordpress designer team, is working on a "WooCommerce German Extension" which will take care of all adjustments to make WooCommerce "legal" in Austria, Germany (and probably in Switzerland too). They've now finished the beta phase and they'll send out RC releases this week. They plan to release the extension with the next WooCommerce release - probably this will happen in the next 2 weeks. The plugin adds several features to WooCommerce like: pages for "Impressum, AGBs, Wiederrufsrecht (mit Entwürfen für Deutschland und ich habe letztens einen Widerrufsrechtsentwurf für Österreich beigesteuert, welcher sich nach dem KSchG richtet), Versandkosten, etc.; it adds a summary page to the checkout process which helps the user to correct input errors (required because of E-CommG in Austria and Germany) and a "Einheitsmengenpreis" function which is required because of the "PreisauszeichnungsG". The only downside of this extension is that it won't be free...

I saw that someone wanted to translate their own language but I couldn't reply in that thread.

I've translated my blog into Swedish. What I did was that I downloaded PoEdit: http://www.poedit.net/download.php

Then I made a copy of default.mo & default.po that can be found under /lang in the Sentence-folder, and renamed them to match my language (sv_SE). If you want the blog in German then you need to rename the files to de_DE.mo & de_DE.po.

After that I opened the .po-file in poEdit (the icon has changed to a terrestrial globe).

When you have that file open, you can translate all the keywords that you would like.

When you have translated all the wanted keywords, upload both your de_DE.po & de_DE.mo files into the folder /lang in Sentence on your webserver.

Hopefully this will work. In order for this to work you need to have German installed as your main language in the WordPress Dashboard.

Hey,
I just came across this, I think this could work globally.

Bin mir nicht sicher auf die Schnelle, guck mal in die

class-framework-widgets.php

im Ordner framework -> php

Da findest du dann relativ schnell solche Datumszeilen. Oder nach "time" suchen.
