Hello,

A sliderCanvas is covering the real GIF image. This is a bit of a hack and not recommended but it's working in your case. You probably have to maintain a single image for the background because I'm not sure if this is going to work on multiple images. Place this on your custom.css

.avia_fullscreen_slider li img {
position: relative;
display: block;
z-index: 9999 !important;
opacity: 1 !important;
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
}

.avia_fullscreen_slider canvas {
display: none;
}

The background looks great. :D

Regards,
Ismael

A good thing to note... the browser resize trick seems to only work in safari where as in firefox it just displays a still.

Hello there, been loving the theme...
Just curious on this one... I uploaded an animated gif into a page's image gallery for the background (just to see if it would work).
At first it appeared to only display a still image but upon resizing the browser page with my mouse it shuffles through the animated gif all rapid like. This is very rad, but is it possible to either just display an animated gif as a background or to have this effect controlled by mouse position instead of resizing the browser?

The mouse position thing would be very very cool, hehe.
take care and thanks,
d

Oh I see! Very strange. Its not a fix to the issue but it may fix it for you in the short term: Can you try saving the gif images without any transparency? I assume that is what is causing the issue.

I'll check with Kriesi but I believe the theme actually just uses the wordpress image resizing function and doesn't do any of the heavy lifting which would put actually changing the way the images are processed out of our hands. I will double check however and hopefully just saving the files without transparent backgrounds will keep the current effect from happening further.

Regards,

Hi Devin,

It's not the grayscale effect.

Please check here:

Hi viktorlajos,

Do you have an example of whats going on we can take a look at?

As far as I know, there is no change for .gif that would cause that. There is the greyscale effect that all image types get which can be disabled in either the theme option Portfolio tab for greyscale (its a dropdown) or if you are using a dynamic template it will be in the portfolio element.

Regards,

Hi,

Have a problem when uploading .gif files, 'cos the thumbnail automatically becomes a negative of the image. Ones it's enlarged it's ok but the thumbnail is still in reverse than it should be. Do not really want to use jpg instead 'cos for vector art the gif is the right format.

Any suggestion ?

Hello,

Hello try to load the image on the theme > images folder not on the Wordpress image upload. Wordpress is cropping the image that is why it is not animating. Then insert the image with the src=http://towardsparenthood.org.au/wp-content/themes/broadscope/images/gifimage.gif. Something like that.

Regards,
The page is http://towardsparenthood.org.au/ and it is the image at the bottom
The gifs work if I open them so I'm not sure what is wrong. I'm using Firefox
Thanks

I want to insert it onto a page. I clicked upload/insert then inserted it as I would a photo but it will not play on the site unless the person actually clicks on the image. Is there a way of making it start playing just as soon as the page loads?
Thanks
